Will QuickBooks support American Express Business Checking?

It seems as if one cannot use their American Express account credentials to sync their new Business Checking account with QuickBooks.

I spoke with AmEx and they said the issue is on their side. They hope to have this functionality by end of the year.

How is this not a thing? I'm going to have to find a new solution if you keep forcing me to download and import my documents every month. INSANITY. ADD SUPPORT FOR AMERICAN EXPRESS BUSINESS CHECKING!!!!!!!!!

I'll echo that. Just recently set up an Amex Business Checking account to take advantage of an introductory offer, but now I'm regretting that choice given how much trouble this all is. Hey Intuit - FIX IT!

I can't believe this is still an issue after more than a year.

American Express National Bank still doesn't show up as a bank to link to. When will this be added?

Hello there, @VD19. I'll point you in the right direction to get this sorted out as soon as possible so you can link your bank account to your QuickBooks Online (QBO) account.

Before we do so, know that I'm fully aware of important it is for you to connect your bank account to QBO. I wish I could give you a timeframe for when this would be available. In light of this, I recommend I'd recommend reaching out to your bank provider's support team. This way, they can help you set up your bank so you can connect it to your QBO account.

Same, I need connection to AMEX Business checking! it's a major bank and should be supported. My amex credit card works fine.

OVER A YEAR AND ISSUE STILL IS NOT SOLVED

I just setup a new AMEX business credit card and CHECKING account. The credit card syncs just fine. The business CHECKING account will not sync like others have been experiencing.

Over a year and you guys still haven't solved the issue? What a joke. Also you can't even provide a timeline?

- WE DON'T WANT TO MANUALLY UPLOAD A .CSV

- WE DON'T MORE LINKS TO TUTORIALS WE'VE ALREADY TRIED

- STOP RE-DIRECTING US TO AMEX, YOU'VE HAD OVER A YEAR TO COMMUNICATE WITH THEM AND SOLVE THIS HUGE ISSUE!

I'm officially closing our business checking accounts with Amex Business. Not only is there no support from either Amex or Intuit on the lack of integration, but we also found another huge inconvenience. My wife, who provides certain medical services, found out that insurance payers will not process ACH deposits to online banks, a.k.a. Amex Business Checking. Good luck to everyone sticking it out, but we're out.

I think I might do the same. Chase business checking looks like the next best option for anyone who is interested.

I also am waiting for this integration. I love QuickBooks and the new Amex business checking account looks very promising. I spoke with an Amex rep and they assured me that the integration is coming very soon along with many new features as well. Let’s hope soon isn’t to far away. For the meantime let’s hang in.

I had the same issue. I contacted support and they said

“We are very sorry but at this time QBO is not allowing downloads from American Express Business Checking, we have alerted our programming dept to your inquiry”.
Translate to English…we want you to get frustrated with manually entering the data and open a Quickbooks Banking Account.

I ended up closing my AMEX checking account due to this. Although AMEX swears that this is on QuickBooks end.. I still was tired of waiting. Also since all of this has happened, my credit card through AMEX constantly “unlinks”. Never did have problems before I tried to link the AMEX checking account.

I may have to do the same. It is unfortunate. QBO is supposed to help streamline the bookkeeping process. Not add frustration.

I'll add myself to the chorus of business owners wondering why the hell QBO doesn't support Amex Business Checking!!!

But I'm also resigned (due to my prior posts on this forum) that Intuit will do ABSOLUTELY NOTHING about this. EVER.

When will Quickbooks Online support connecting American Express Business Checking to their platform? There was rumors for it to happen by the New Year. Here we are and it's still not supported.

C'mon guys. You're a massive company and it's a simple API.
