Recently there have been a number of community members receiving private messages from users who are pretending to be QuickBooks support or authorized third party support services. These messages are all from malicious actors in the Community who are attempting to deceive users into calling their fake support lines. Due to the nature of private messages, we have no visibility into who is sending them or what is being sent. And we only became aware of the messages after users notified us using the "Report Inappropriate Content" feature. We have banned the users who were sending these messages, however, we because of the fact that we have no way of monitoring these messages to keep the Community safe, we feel that the safest course of action is to disable private messages completely. Looking at the historical data on private messages, we can see that it is not a feature that is heavily used at all, so we believe this will not impact most
As some of you may have noticed, we have a new sign on experience in Community. We have expanded the Single Sign On experience from our Help site to the Community. This is the first step in offering more personalization and I am excited to have this new capability available for our Community members! The first change you may notice is that there is now only one place to sign in, instead of multiple places. Since we have integrated the SSO experience across both Community and the Help site, when you sign in to either space, you will be signed in to both. The sign in process is easy: 1 - Enter your email address (this should be your Intuit account email - the same one you use for QuickBooks, TurboTax, etc) 2 - If this is your first time logging in, you will be prompted to enter your password. (Again, you use the same one as your other Intuit accounts.) 3 - If you have visited the Community before and have the "Remember me" box checked, yo
Welcome to the QuickBooks Community, we are proud of our little corner of the internet, and want to help you find everything you need here. Think of this page as a digital roadmap to all of the awesome resources available to you on this site. Of course, you can just jump right in and start exploring, but if you want a little guidance on what is available and shortcuts to take you there, keep reading. The first stop is our QuickBooks Support pages. You can get there by clicking the link above, or if you are out in the Community, simply click on "QuickBooks Support" in the header at the top of the screen. Pro Tip: Once you have landed on the QuickBooks Support page, make sure to use the card carousel to choose your QuickBooks product. This will filter all help articles to only that product - so you know that you are getting the right information for your specific needs. ***** &nb

One of the best things about online communities is the ability to ask questions that are tailored to your exact needs and circumstances. Now, of course, you should always start by doing a search to see if someone else has asked a question that is similar to yours, (and make sure you check out our tips for how to supercharge your search), but if you don't find what you need, then your next step is to post a question. You can either post your question from the Community homepage simply by clicking the "Ask the Community" button in the header image: Or, you can go to the Q&A section and choose the topic card that most closely matches the subject of your question. Once you have selected your topic card, then you will see the "Start a discussion" button that will allow you to post a question to that topic. The question console requires just 4 simple steps: 1 - Write a title for your question 2
Search is such an integral part of the online experience, you probably don't even think much about it. The basics are pretty much the same everywhere you go - you type in a Search Term and hit enter and get a bunch of results. But what if I told you that there are some tips and tricks to use to help make sure that you get MORE relevant results every single time? Check out the video below for our top tips to improve your search results. (And if you aren't a video person, don't worry, we got you. There is a transcript of the video at the bottom of this post.) Transcript: Top 5 Search Tips to Find the Answers You Need Tip #1 - Narrow Your Search Using Quotation Marks Using quotation marks - " " - around your search returns results that only contain those specific words in that specific order. It's that time again... every month we feature members from the community to call out their contributions based on a rotating set of criteria to make sure everyone gets a chance to be highlighted. We have been celebrating appreciation week here in the Community, and want to express our gratitude for the members of our Community Champion Program. This is the inaugural year for the program, and we have been so lucky to have some amazing Community members step up to share their knowledge and time. They truly are Champions in our eyes. Every Champion has different strengths, and here are just a few things that make each of them special. On our Community homepage, we are featuring Champions who have been part of the Community from almost the very beginning - @SteveChase and @lynda11_2 both joined the Community in July of 2017 when we first launched and were active right away.
It's time for us to celebrate our next batch of community members, one of my favorite times of the month! Every month we will be highlighting members from the community to call out their contributions based on a rotating set of criteria to make sure everyone gets a chance to be highlighted. For July we focused on members who hadn't been featured before, and it was great to see some new faces! For August we are going to look at the people giving and receiving kudos. Remember, kudos are a way for you to give approval to content that you think is helpful, well formed, insightful, or otherwise generally valuable. When you kudo a post, you are offering a thumbs up for good content and also giving a pat on the back to the author! In our Q&A forums the people who gave out the most kudos last month are @BigRedConsulting, @GFYS30, and @Lamont Cranston! Thank you so much for letting people kno
It's the beginning of a new month, so that means that it is time to celebrate our next group of Featured Members! Every month we will be highlighting members from the community to call out their contributions based on a rotating set of criteria to make sure everyone gets a chance to be highlighted. Last month we featured members who had made the most contributions in a 6 month period, and this month we are changing things up again. For our featured members this month, we are looking at people who have not previously been featured here on the community! To get the ball rolling, in our Q&A forums we are going to feature the top solution authors in the month of June who have not yet been featured on the community. We love our regular top contributors, but we also love having new voices contributing and are excited to see them. The top solution authors in June who haven't been fe

It's a little bit late this month, but I haven't forgotten! It's time to celebrate our new group of Featured Members! Every month we will be highlighting members from the community to call out their contributions based on a rotating set of criteria (to make sure everyone gets a chance to be highlighted!) For May's featured members we went with featuring new members and their contributions to the community, but for June's members I wanted to focus on a longer view. So this month is all about giving thanks to the top contributors for the past 6 months on the community! In our Q&A space this month we are highlighting members who started the most discussions in our Q&A Forums over the past 6 months. There wouldn't be a community without people asking questions or starting discussions so we definitely appreciate these authors for coming back time and time again! The top 3 question askers in
It's time to celebrate our new group of Featured Members! Every month we will be highlighting members from the community to call out their contributions based on a rotating set of criteria (to make sure everyone gets a chance to be highlighted!) Our Featured members for April were members who had received the most Accepted Solutions in our Q&A forums, as well as members who gave the most cheers on other member posts. For May of 2020, we are focusing on members who were brand new to the community and registered their accounts for the first time in the month of April. These members hit the ground running and are already well on their way to becoming vibrant voices here in our corner of the internet. In our Q&A forums, we are featuring the members who registered in April and accepted the most solutions. As a reminder - accepted solutions are given by the person who asked the original question, and
We have opened up two new forums to help with all of your questions around the FFCRA and CARES Acts. They will serve similar, but different needs and so we wanted to help you decide where to post. Much like it's sister forum, COVID-19 Connection, the new CARES Act 2020 forum in our business discussions is a place to connect with other small business owners and discuss the ways everyone is adapting to these rapidly changing times. This forum is for all small businesses, regardless of if they use an Intuit product or not, and is a great place to share your experiences applying for the Paycheck Protection Program with an outside vendor as an example. The other new forum is the FFCRA and CARES Acts forum in our QuickBooks Q&A discussions. This is the place to ask questions about the National Paid Sick Leave and credits, and the Paycheck Protection Program in your QuickBooks products. Our community t
Every month we will be featuring members from the community to highlight their contributions based on a rotating set of criteria to make sure everyone gets a chance to be highlighted. Our Featured members for March were our brand new Community Champions, and our top responders in our Q&A forums. For April 2020, in our product Q&A forums we are featuring the members with the most "Accepted Solutions" in the month of March. Because accepted solutions are given by the person who asked the original question, that means that these are the answers the community found most useful. You will know an answer has been marked as an accepted solution by the green "Solved" that appears when you view the question, and if you want to accept someone else's solution on your own question, simply click on the 3 dots to the right of their answer and choose "Accept as solution". The top 3 solution authors for March ar
We know there are a lot of questions right now, and we want to make sure that you have all the information you need to keep your selves, your business, employees, and customers safe. Our CEO, Sasan Goodarzi recently published information on how QuickBooks - and Intuit as a whole - are working to make sure that we are here for you when you need us. You can read Sasan's message in it's entirety on the Intuit corporate site. Additionally, to keep you informed and educated, we’re compiling helpful tips, tools, and resources to help your business during COVID-19. We are updating these pages regularly to make sure you have the most recent information. www.quickbooks.com/smallbusinesshelp With the tax filing deadline just around the corner, I also wanted to add a link to our TurboTax site which has an article that they update regularly keeping you informed of any changes in the tax filing season. You can
We know that the success of any online community is directly tied to the members who participate in it, and we want to make sure that you get recognized for all the time, knowledge, and passion that you have shared with us. You may have previously noticed there is a section on your profile page that includes a banner across the top called “Latest badges earned” – which is where we recognize you for participating and engaging in our community. Each badge represents a particular achievement in community, and is a bit like a digital certificate to show your involvement. When we launched our first phase of badges we wanted to highlight the most popular functions on the community, but we didn’t want to overwhelm everyone. Now that we are a bit more established, we decided it was a good time to update the look and feel of our badges, and expand the set a bit. (Now we can reward you for even more of what you do here!) So starting today, you will

Here's the Link to Sign Up See? That's wasn't so bad :smileywink:
I nearly got sucked into spending a couple of thousand bucks today after spending an hour online with someone posing as a QB tech support person. I had called an 800 number listed on a response to a question I submitted to the community and reached what I thought was QB support. They tried to convince me that my company files were corrupted. As evidence, they pointed to the fact that the QBB file was smaller than the QBW file, telling me that not all of my data was being backed up. So, be especially aware of community responses from scammers posing as QB support.
You may have noticed a few changes happening here in the Business discussions space, and you will soon be seeing some new faces around, so we wanted to introduce the team. Think of our Community Hosts as concierges here to help you get the most out of your visit to our community. Not sure how to post a question or where? Unsure of how to add a picture to your post? Wanna know where to find QuickBooks across the digital landscape? Hosts are here to help you along the way and make sure that you can make the most out of the Community! So without further ado... lets introduce your Hosts: My name is David Carty. I've been working with QuickBooks for several years and in a variety of roles, including here in the Community. Business and finance have long been a passion of mine and I'm currently working on my Masters in Accounting. My experience in the Community over these last two years has been very special to me. Wondering what user ranks are and what they have to do with you? User ranks are a fun community element that encourage participation while rewarding quality and establishing reputation in our community. Every member in the community is assigned a rank based on a multitude of factors (more about those below.) You can see a person's rank in their profile or in any thread they have posted it, it appears just below their user name. Here is an example from my profile, and from a recent thread here in the community. How is my rank determined? Your rank is based on your engagement in the community - but it's not just how often you post, helpfulness and the value of your contributions also affect your ranking. How can I earn a higher rank? As we've mentioned, there are different actions that can help you gain higher ranks. The best thing to do is to visit our community often and ta
At Intuit, we are always looking to improve the quality and value of our online spaces for our members. And one of the most exciting ways is by recognizing our most impactful contributors - our Champions. A Champion is an advocate who is passionate about sharing their expertise and knowledge in order to help other members prosper. Champions are regular users who have real-life experience with our software and are eager to help others achieve their goals. We are excited to share an opportunity that is live across all of our Intuit Communities (QuickBooks, ProConnect, TurboTax, Mint, and Turbo). This program invites individuals across our Intuit ecosystem to be unified and recognized as Intuit Community Champions. New! This year we are extending our Champions program in QuickBooks to include members in Social media spaces such as Twitter and Facebook. Interested in learning more

This holiday weekend we are going to be changing the existing Rank structure in our community. Why are you changing it? We've received feedback from many users that the current rank structure doesn't make sense and isn't intuitive to follow. We are also working across all of the Intuit communities to make sure that members have the same experience no matter which community you participate in, and aligning our rank structures are just one small way to help in that endeavor. The changes will be rolled out this holiday weekend, so if you see your rank change, don't worry, it's all part of the plan. Update! We have updated our rank structure, and you can read all about it here: https://quickbooks.intuit.com/learn-support/en-us/about-qb-community/community-rank-structure/00/421738
