Quickbook Desktop 2022 Crashing and stops working

Hello QB Community; the business I work for recently upgraded from Quickbooks Desktop 2019 to 2022. Since then, we've had a few users report that whenever they open up Quickbooks, and Quickbooks crashes. This business relies on this software to keep balanced.
I've tried the Quickbooks Tool Hub features to try and fix the issue, but unfortunately the problem persists.
I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling Quickbooks several times with several QB technicians over the phone spending over 25 labor hours trying to get this work without crashing!
I've tried clearing the Google cache, and that didn't work.

I am also having issues with getting my email connected to invoices.

HELP!!!!! I have no clue how to fix this issue on my own. Has something like this happened to anybody else, or does anybody have an idea on how to fix this issue? I cannot be the only one who is experiencing this issue. When we had 2019 version, we did not experience any kind of crashing.

I also have been experiencing this for months. It usually happens when I open QB for the first time each day. I can log in fine, but before I can access any data POOF the whole application just disappears off my screen, no error messages or warnings whatsoever. Last week it happened 3 consecutive times, then the 4th login I was able to work.

Is there a resolution to this problem?

No, there is no resolution yet. Mine does the same thing. I have had several calls with QBs and nothing fixed.

I am having similar issues with QB randomly shutting off. No errors. Mostly shuts off when signing in. Currently running R5 version and updates are current. issue has also started since upgrading to QB2022.

I also am having the problem of Quickbooks 2022 crashing when opening the program.  I have tried using the Tool Hub and reinstalling Quickbooks to no avail. This is the first time I have had such problems with Quickbooks and it is very frustrating.

Thanks for taking the time to follow along with the thread and sharing your concerns, @Weatherford Steel

I understand how frustrating it can be when QuickBooks isn't working as intended. Rest assured, I will be here every step to get you back to business.

Before we begin, I wanted to ask a few questions to get more clarification. When QuickBooks crashes, are you receiving any error messages? Do you make it to the sign-in screen, sign in, then it crashes? Or is it just when you try opening it?

Any extra details or screenshots that you can provide will be a great help to me in finding the right solution for you.

I'll be sure to keep an eye out for your reply. Chat with you soon. Take care!

I make it past the login screen and get to the home screen. Just as I think all is OK and the QB sales banner is starting to load it crashes and poof no more quickbooks. No error message, no nothing no change to take a screen shot. It just crashes and closes. This happens 9 times out of 10 and will happen 2 to 3 times in a row before I can work.

The many BS answers from support are more frustrating then the issue itself, which is saying a lot. It's not a corrupt file, it's not something the Tool Hub repairs. It's the latest update, PERIOD. Nothing works for long. The only solution I have is to reopen the program 5-6 times until I get a stable instance. Sometimes just waiting before doing anything helps, but frankly, it's so intermittent that could be pure coincidence. If there was a reasonable alternative, I'd jump ship, but all the alternatives are cloud based and I absolutely do not want my business accounting in the cloud except for backups.

I am an outside IT consultant, doing work for over 20 customers, I have this same problem, not only with my version of Quickbooks 2022 prom, but 12 of my customers have similar issues with the 2022 product, from desktop pro, desktop premier, and desktop enterprise.

This cannot ne an isolated case, and QB needs to address this. Platforms are Windows 10 and WIndows 11 so the issue is not going away. Started approximately first week in June of 2022.

So I have had this same problem when I was running QBD 2020 so I thought if I updated, it would go away. I upgraded to QBD 2022 and have the same issue. Crashing when it opens after I enter my credentials.  Sometimes I have to do this 2 or 3 times. Then it stabalizes and have had no other issues.  Some users sound like they are having more crashing besides that, but for me it was just when I opened it.  I've been following this feed and tried several of the suggested fixes and none of them worked.  I then contacted support to ask to be added to this investigation, but before they did, they had me try the following:  Here are the steps in order to prevent Quickbooks Desktop 2022 from force closing after logging in to a company file:
1. Turn off your computer's internet connection.
2. Open your QBDT and then the file.
3. Edit QBDT User preference to to turn off Left Navigation Bar.
Edit menu> Preferences > then under General - Turn off pop-up messages for products and services. . You can also remove the check mark for What's New, under the Help menu (couldn't find this).
4. Turn internet back on and use QBDT as normal with Left Navigation Bar turned off.

I did this on Monday when I was in, and I just came in today and logged in and IT WORKED.  It didn't crash for the first time in months.  Something so simple. Hopefully it's not just a fluke. I am running Windows 10 PRO, version 21H2.   I also had issues with payroll excel tax reports opening. It said the macro was corrupt.  I located the file on my hard drive, opened it that way and ran the macro and it ran fine.  I went back to QB and ran it again and now it opens again.  (Of course, I've only done one payroll on the new software. Fingers crossed)

"You can also remove the check mark for What's New, under the Help menu" I don't see this part. Where is it?

I have done some additional research, and found that I have customers on Ver QB 2020, 2021, and 2022 having the same issues. All started after the June maintenance release.

For a quick fix to prevent a frustrating QB crash:

Right click QB app on screen.

Click Troubleshoot Compatibility.
Click Try recommended settings.
Click Test the program.
Click Next.
Click Yes save these settings.
You will see Incompatible Program Fixed then close.
I have done this numerous times to prevent a crash. I don’t know the cause of the crash but I just want it to work without frustration until the trouble can be permanently fixed.

Same thing has been happening since we upgraded also.  We keep sending in the error messages to Intuit.  When we are able to use the software it only lasts a short time and then crashes.

@BigRedConsulting Thank you for this wonderful workaround.  I'm going to put this on my server for all my QBD software!
