When desktop QuickBooks will update printable 2021 NEC forms from 2-part to 3-part?

I have 2021 QB Pro.

Kayte, I personally think those that can now print 3-up 1099NEC's are using the QBO version. QBDT-of any year/version- is still not patched/updated. ANYONE correct me if I am wrong. If you have been able to get QBDT PRO 2020 to print 1099NEC 3-up, let us know what you did to progress. Of course, once I get the dang update, I will be off the grid and getting my1099NEC's started and finished hopefully, but by that time we all will have the patch/update.

I understand you need to be able to print the 1099-NEC forms since it’s time for tax filing. And with that, I have good news to share with all of you. You should now be able to print 3 to a page for 1099-NEC. All you need to do is make sure you are on the latest releases with the appropriate critical fixes. 

 

Here’s how:


1.   Go to the Help menu.
2.   Click Update QuickBooks Desktop.
3.   Go to the Options tab and click Mark All, then Save.
4.   Tap the Update Now tab.
5.   Make sure Critical Fixes is checked.
6.   Then click Get Updates.

 

 

When the update is finished, close and reopen QuickBooks Desktop. Click Yes to install the updates, then restart your computer.

I'll give some info about 1099-NEC Form.

 

Currently, QuickBooks offers 1099 Forms (two per sheet). You can find the details in this article: Print your 1099 forms.

 

Before the 1099 filing season begins, QuickBooks will update the forms to be compliant with IRS. Therefore, I recommend checking our Product Updates page, so you'll notified of any news. 

 

In addition, please make sure to keep your software up-to-date. This is to ensure you have the latest features and fixes. Here's a link for the steps: Update QuickBooks Desktop to the latest release.

Hello,

 

I just updated my QB premier to 2022 and I'm trying to print the 2021 1099NEC for my contractors. The problem is the 2022 QB only generates 2 copies per sheet 1099 but the IRS latest version of 1099 form is 3 copies per sheet. Those two are not aligned. How can I fix this problem? Will QB updated to 3 copies per sheet for us to print the 1099?

DID YOU FIND A SOLUTION?  MY QB IS UPDATED BUT I ALREADY PURCHASED 2-PART 1099 FORMS. HOW DO YOU CHANGE QB TO PRINT 2-PART FORMS INSTEAD OF 3-PART FORMS?

I have Quickbooks for Mac 2020 and it still only has two part printing as of January 2.  Is there anyone else that has this problem and will there be an update/fix in the next week?

I have discovered this issue with 2-part vs. 3-part 1099-NEC forms just today. What is even more frustrating is that my co-worker's computer will print 3-part forms in QBDT 2019 while I can't print 3-part forms in 2019, 2020, 2021, or 2022. Yes, I have updated the software and the payroll in all of my versions. When I compare my release information with my co-worker's release information, it is the same. Intuit, this should not be so difficult. We pay you a lot of money to keep forms and tax tables updated. The forms have been available from IRS for months. You should have had this ready to go a long time ago. We need this fixed, now!

Thanks for joining this conversation. Allow me to jump in and help make sure you can print your Form 1099-NEC in QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT).

 

Since you're still unable to print the form after performing those steps, let's run the QuickBooks PDF & Print Repair Tool. This tool will help us resolve common printing issues in QBDT.

 

Before we proceed, let's download the QuickBooks Tool Hub first. Here's how to do it:

 

  1. Close QBDT.
  2. Download the most recent version of the QuickBooks Tool Hub. Save it somewhere you can easily find it (like your Downloads folder or your Windows desktop).
  3. Open the file you downloaded (QuickBooksToolHub.exe).
  4. Follow the on-screen steps to install and agree to the terms and conditions.
  5. Double-click the icon on your Windows desktop to open the tool hub once the installation is complete.

 

Once done, open the Tool Hub to run the QuickBooks PDF & Print Repair Tool. Here's how:

 

  1. Go to Program Problems.
  2. Select QuickBooks PDF & Print Repair Tool

I was able to fix it.  Thank you! 

Next question as I have been on hold with QB and two different people who can't help me.  It's awful

1) I have two companies and I filed my 941 efile quarterly reports on 1/1/2022 and they are stuck on saying submitting to intuit- which QB website says it means it was sent to QB for processing- the next step it should say submitted to agency but it has not done that and it's over 48 hours.   I don't want my reports late.  both of my conversations with QB have said I just wait, and that it's an IRS issue, but it hasnt' been submitted to agency (IRS) yet?  It's stuck at QB?

I have run all available updates and my QuickBooks 2020 desktop still wants to print the NEC 2 per page instead of 3 per page.

Any idea when this will be corrected??

I have spent several hours now and ran updates to both QB 2020 and QB 2022 - both are printing Form 1099-NEC as a two part. No three part. Ran updates, closed program, restarted computer. Still no 3 part as required by the IRS - End of day January 5, 2022. I have promised clients that I am mailing these by the end of the week.

Same exact thing for me...even erased all updates and then shut off and reinstalled and still no 3NECs HELP!!!!!!!!!!!

It is January 5th and I have over 30 companies to prepare 1099s for.  When will there be an update to print 3 part forms?  This is ridiculous.  I ordered my forms from the IRS in October and knew they were 3 part - why didn't quickbooks.

I must be stupid. I have the 2019 desktop version for Mac. When I go to the Help tab, there is no option for updates. When I click on the Quickbooks tab and then the latest updates, it tells me I've got all the latest updates. Where in *%## is the critical update to fix the printing out of the 3 part 1099-NEC??

After I did an update, it remapped my 1099 vendors and can't change it back. Hopefully they fix it soon.

I lost all my mapping when I upgraded from 2018 to 2019 but I was able to remap them.

Thank you, Can you tell me how to re-install the critical fixes? Our computers are locked down, I had the Quickbooks update on automatic. The fix probably ran, but did not take. I will have to "unfreeze" the computer first then re-run the fix. Please help.
