2021 1099 NEC is 3 vendors to a page but QB's 2022 only does it for 2 to a page?

Just tried to print out 1099 NEC for 2021 in my 2022 version of QB's desktop and it is only showing 2 to a page when the tax forms have 3 to a page.  Is QB's working on fixing this issue?

I have some information about printing the 3-page1099-NEC forms. At the moment, we don't have a specific time frame when the printing option will be available in QuickBooks. I recommend turning on the Automatic Updates. This process will keep your data file updated to the latest release when they're available.

 

Here's how to do it:

 

  1. Go to the Help menu and choose Update QuickBooks Desktop.
  2. Hover towards the Update Now tab. 
  3. Tap Get Updates to start the download.
  4. When the download finishes, restart QuickBooks.

Once new updates on the program is available, you'll be prompted, accept the option. For details about the updates, check out this guide: Update QuickBooks Desktop to the latest release.

 

About the submission date, this form should be filed with the IRS, on paper or electronically, and sent to recipients by February 1, 2021.

hi

I have QB PRO 2018 for the first part of 2021, then we updated to the current version.. I cant seem to print the 1099-NEC forms from the 2018 version. The current forms have 3 per page and QB PRO 2018 has 2 per page.. How do i go about printing the needed 1099 NEC forms for the beginning of the year

I recognize how important it is for you to add the 3 per page format for 1099-NEC forms in QuickBooks.

 

This can save time so you no longer have to enter the information manually. For now, you can follow my peer's recommendation, @ShiellaGraceA, to set an automatic update in QuickBooks until the new 1099-NEC is available.

 

If you want to submit a 3-page 1099-NEC form early, I encourage reviewing using the 2-page 1099-NEC information you see in the meantime and checking the 3-page 1099-NEC form from the IRS website. That said, you're able to get the details needed to complete the 3-page 1099 NEC form and submit them by hand.

 

Here's how to print your 1099s:

  1. Create your 1099s in QuickBooks.
  2. In the Choose a filing method window, select the Print 1099-NEC button.
  3. Specify the date range for the forms, then click OK.
  4. Select all vendors you wish to print 1099s for.
  5. Hit the Print 1099 button.
  6. Confirm your printer settings, then choose Print.

I cannot believe you issue 3 vendor 1099's and program to print a 2 vendor form.

This is ridiculous that I can only buy a 3-up form from Intuit and the software doesn't even support it.  What does it look like for me to make the February 1st, 2022 deadline?  I cannot seem to buy 1099NEC in 2 up anywhere for 2021.

I uninstalled Quickbooks 2022, rebooted my computer, re-installed, and did the updates. I can now print 3 per page. It also got rid of the "Critical Update is waiting to be installed" warning that has been coming up for 2 months now. Kind of a pain but it worked

Preprinted copies or three up 1099-NEC forms are available in QuickBooks Desktop and are compatible with QuickBooks 2020 or later versions, including the Mac version. Additionally, services for older versions of QuickBooks Desktop are discontinued. You can no longer use the 2018 version to utilize payroll services like paying taxes are unavailable. I suggest updating your QuickBooks 2018 to the latest version. This is to keep your software up-to-date so you'll be able to file taxes without any issues. All you need to do is check what operating system, hardware, software, and other requirements to run the latest version. You can refer to each article below to know what your computer needs.

 

 

On the other hand, there are no changes in thresholds for NEC. You're required by U.S. tax law to file a Form 1099-NEC for anyone that you paid $600 or more in the previous year. To ensure you'll be able to file a 1099-NEC without any issues, you'll have to review and make sure that your chart of accounts is properly mapped for both the 1099-MISC and 1099-NEC forms. Then, click the Show IRS 1099 filling thresholds to refresh the updated details so it will not show as zero.

Intuit needed to be on this in September!  I can't even view a sample of my 1099 information without the program freezing.  

How can this happen?  I'm guessing Intuit wants to sell and create another program! 

We have all updated programs in order to print correct forms and now you are not providing the product as advertised!

This is a deadline driven document - I've seen several instructions to update, and restart but apparently you are just occupying our time with ridiculous instructions as they do not work!

Me too. Quickbook keep posting a "solution" that doesn't apply to your question. I am not sure why quickbook wasn't aware of this problem. The funny thing Quickbook is selling 3 part tops 1099-NEC forms. I can't even find 2 part tops 1099-NEC forms anywhere in the market

For all customers who are having trouble printing 1099s, the supposed fix where to install QuickBooks' latest released versions. Press the F2 key on your keyboard and review the list below for reference.

 

QuickBooks for Windows:

 

  • QuickBooks 2022/Enterprise 22 - R3_71 (or later)
  • QuickBooks 2021/Enterprise 21 - R8_62 (or later)
  • QuickBooks 2020/Enterprise 20 - RR13_39 (or later)
  • QuickBooks 2019/Enterprise 19 - R16_55 (or later)

 

QuickBooks for Mac:

 

  • QuickBooks Mac Plus 2022 R4 (or later)
  • QuickBooks Mac 2021 R8 (or later)
  • QuickBooks Mac 2020 - update coming soon
  • QuickBooks Mac 2019 - update coming soon

I had no problem printing my 1099 NEC 3 to a page on a QB version 2020 and 2021 for my clients.  My problem is in QB online the 3 to a page isn't an option for printing. The person I spoke to today at Intuit said they are working on it for QB online.  This should have been done months ago.  

 

Perhaps Intuit should spend less time increasing their prices and more time fixing their software....epic fail Intuit!!

I have Quickbook Accountant 2018.    I tried your solution but it wouldn't work - still two pages NEC.    Does the solution work on 2018 Quickbooks desktop.

I am having the same problem and am amazed at the inefficiency of Intuit to get this taken care of, especially since we are on a deadline to have these forms out to any vendors. I have used QB Pro Desktop for many years and in the past have recommended it to my clients. I will now have to rethink that.  Is this a problem with other accounting software programs or just Intuit?

I am so disappointed that QuickBooks doesn't have an update for the 3 part 1099-NEC forms.  This is just another example of how they make you buy an update!!!!!  So many companies I know are ready to find another software program and it's time.  They need competition to keep the in-line.  

If anyone has any suggestions for a work-around on this I would love to hear them!

this is not true. AS of January 18th there is no fix in the works....just want to sell us their forms.

I was online help for hours and no resolution. Sorry I updated to 2022.
