My client has changed his VAT quarter end to coincide with his year end. The next quarter is now for 4 months from 1.12.19 to 31.3.20. How do I change the quarter end in QB so that I can include all 4 months?

Hi I'm new to quickbooks and VAT in general. I made a payment to HMRC for my first quarter VAT payment, but not through MTD as I'm under the threshold that requires it (I do intend to set this up, but having trouble registering as an agent). When I go to the taxes tab, I have 1 open return, but there is no option to record the VAT payment against it. It does have the status "Take Action" and asks to connect to HMRC above, but as I am not MTD registered it doesn't work. Please help, I need to organise my next VAT return. Thanks
I started QB today (desktop app and online) to find that new Purchase orders and Bills no longer displayed the VAT Total but which magically re-appeared after the PO or Bill was saved and re-edited. After quite a lengthy troubleshoot session with the chat help. The final suggestion was to refresh the APP data. Which I did, but of course killed the chat session. When I started the desktop app again. I started the chat session and of course got a new person. Then followed the most bizarre conversation (attached transcript, apologies for my typos but I was getting a little stressed) It boiled down to. QB have a new set of VAT Tax Rates. If you don't use these new set of Tax Rates you will not get the correct display on the forms.QB hasn't informed anyone of this change, I certainly haven't seen any email information asking me to "refresh" VAT Rates has anyone else?Only QB personnel are allowed to perform the refresh. i.e. you have to grant the customer ser
Hi, We use an external website to generate our invoices which get sent to the customer. All of our prices advertised to wholesale customers are net, as they are mostly registered for VAT. These invoices calculate VAT as total net @ std rate x 20%. This makes it really clear for the customer as they see an invoice for £1,000 and assuming that it's all std rated they will receive an invoice for £1,200. However, Quickbooks calculates VAT on a line level, so when we import an invoice through our 3rd party with multiple lines then it will calculate by line and round the VAT number before adding to the VAT total, this means that the customer could get a statement saying they owe £1,199.86 (£1,000 net and VAT of £199.86). It's then compounded because if they call up asking why the invoices are different then the accounts team will look on Quickbooks and it'll say "VAT @ 20% on £1,000= £199.86". Cue a big red flag. Quickbooks doesn't appear to let you write t
Hi everyone, I need some help with issuing a refund to a customer... I contacted QuickBooks support but got an answer that turned out not to be actually right. So, I have my sale transaction, with 20% VAT recorded on it, and then I have my refund expense. Now, I was told that I should create a credit note for the customer, then record the expense against the Debtors account (with the VAT code of the original transaction, so I'd say 20%?) and then receive a payment from the customer and match the credit note and the expense. That'd all be great if I could apply 20% VAT to the expense, which turns out I can't ("You cannot track tax on accounts of types Debtors and Creditors."). What should I do? My main question is, what do I need to do so that the refund amount will be taken off my VATable amount when I do my VAT return? Thank you so much.

Hello,I need to confirm if there's any way we can customize the VAT detailed report for any period where it can show the 'Account' for which each of the transaction . The current customization options for Rows/Columns do not contain the 'Account' option.
