Good morning,I am a gardener working with different days with different gardeners. All of us are freelance and self employed. If I am the lead gardener for a particular garden I am the one responsible for invoicing the client for the work done. The gardener I worked with then invoices me for his share of the payment for the work done. Which category is the best to use for these payments to the various gardeners I work with?
Hello Has anyone switched to Quickbooks from Xero? Comments? Good/Bad? For/Against? Which software is better? I've been using Xero for about 7 months now and found it to be good but not fantastic. I've been looking at an alternative to fill the missing gaps which Quickbooks should do apart from the limited users (which is ok now but not very future proof).Be glad to hear form anyoneThanksRichard
Hi I have a charity client who needs to be able to report by funder and by department and these don't map neatly onto each other (they'd also like to do activity type and location - again not neatly mapping - but that's another story). They are on the cusp of needing something slightly more sophisticated than QB, but are determined to make QB work for them before investing in a mad bespoke system. Have any of you used Donor/Customer to manage restricted funds? My concern is that I will end up double counting when I come to close the grant down, or else I'll have an ever expanding number of unbilled expenses - but I can't see any other way of managing the tagging of income and expenditure. Scanning paper receipts with the app seems good - but what about us mainly digital/online businesses? For example - “QuickBooks expense” (picked up by linking my bank account) - do I really have to go to my QuickBooks account, download a pdf receipt, then upload it again back into QuickBooks to match my bank statement? Do I have to go to my email from “supplier A” - download a pdf - then upload into QuickBooks. (why can’t I forward the email to QuickBooks?) Do I have to log into EE phone & broadband account, then O2 work mobile, each month to download pdf to put into QuickBooks - why can’t they be linked? Can quickbooks not link to amazon for receipts? Can PayPal not be used as a receipt source instead of a bank account itself? Linking receipts to the bank statement is the biggest pain - the taking photos with the app for paper receipts is great - but most people don’t even get paper receipts any more. We are interested in using classes but I need to show the management the benefits of doing so. Are there any sample reports available which show for example the same P&L with and without the use of classes? Many thanks.
