Hi Guys, Super small business here. Just submitting my 2018 accounts. But here's the situation: Year End July 2018 showing a small profit. In September 2018 I spend the small profit on a business trip (flights) and the purchase of new computer equipment. Is there a way in which I can allocate the profit from YE 2018 to cover the purchases in the following year. Thus avoiding paying Corp Tax on money that was spend soon after? Thanks for any help.Sam
I have seen many articles re: setting up the tax, but if I go to taxes it only shows my tax summary, there is no option to set up anything. If I try and create an invoice same thing, no option to add tax. There is no such option as "preferences" either. Please help, I am losing a will to live...
Hello, I am thinking of moving to quick books self employed but nit having the best of times getting clear answers from sales team and am now hitting the buffers with a trial version, Perhaps I could prevail on you good people to help me? 1. I currently use 1Tap to keep records of receipts and invoices. I have a dedicated email address so that if an invoice comes in I can just send it straight in (or I can snap it) Am I correct in thinking that Quickbooks self employed does offer this?2. 1 Tap allows me to send a batch of receipts in which it then processes and shows on my accounts. I think that I can only snap one at a time with the app?3. Do I understand correctly that Quickbooks does not automatically save receipts unless they are inspected and the 'save' button is pressed?4. Why do the account 'rules' not function as I would expect, I was being asked to split and nominate expenses and income that rules were already set up for?5. I have now used and abused a free tria
I am running my pay role for the company for the first time. All my employee's start on the 6th April, 2019 and payroll for the period 1/4/2019- 30/4/2019But it taxes them for the whole of last year. What have I set wrong? Another point Pension are not compulsory in the UK for directors so why do I have to enter a scheme when we have nothing but directors.
I need to record an expense for 2018 that was paid in 2019, but it should not be recognized in the 2019 P&L report (nor the 2018 P&L, as this is now closed). How do I do that?

We are currently getting set up with QuickBooks and trying to find out how everything works. We are using QuickBooks on Three Machines with Three main Users, so a small set up. However, two machines will load the Projects page, whilst one returns a blank page, except for the side and top bars. Logging in as all three users gives the same issue, but logging in as all three users on the other two machine, projects works. We have cleared the Cache and History, but this did nothing. all three are using Edge. so there must be a setting somewhere stopping this from working and we are wondering if anyone has an idea?

I have just started working for a property development company and we are looking to move all the accounting to QuickBooks online. I am trying to figure out the best way to set this up in QuickBooks. At the moment we have 4 projects on the go (2 held in 1 company and 2 in another). We have bought to land and will be building 10-14 apartments on each. I need to track the expenses - from land costs, acquisition costs, planning & design, construction costs (we have a contractor who is building for us so the construction costs are only about 1 or 2 invoices a month), other costs etc. I then obviously need to records the sales and disposal costs (legal & agents fees etc). I only want to record a profit once all the apartments are sold. Initially, we will be funding the projects through a shareholder loan (the payments are made by the shareholder directly as well as by another group company for smaller payments). Hi.....I work for various companies, who have a variety property addresses allocated to them. My question is can i search for an invoice by the text within it? For example, i have 1 client who has 5 companies and a portfolio of 140 properties distributed across the 5 companies. So the invoice is always sent to the company and with in the text of the invoice, i detail individual addresses that i have carried out work on. So come the end of the week, when i invoice, i need to allocate approx. 9 addresses to one of his companies, as you can imagine this can be quite stressful. My previous invoicing software (Invoice 2 go) offered this search facility and even though i have stopped my subscription to them, i am still able to log on and carry out my search. Surely QB can add this to their software? Finally i cannot seem to line item, with bullet points. Surely this is a must have? I cannot seem to carry out a simple task like listing item/details of works carried out!!!! Any

I have an open return that was filed with HMRC direct. I have followed the steps to submit and pressed the option "mark as filed". Nothing happens. The return remains open. This open return seems to be blocking all subsequent returns all submitted to HMRC manually. Now I have to use this feature for MTD I need to close off all previous return (2 old) + 1 current. I do not want to send old returns to HMRC via the gateway as this will no doubt cause a host of problems.
I am trying to import an IIF file into Quickbooks 2019 for Mac (trial edition). I am having some problems, and various sites indicate that there is an option called "Import without Review" and a link that says "Import it for me. I'll fix it later." to bypass some of the new 2019 data checking. I'll fix it later.") However, I do not see this option when attempting to import. Is this option missing from the Mac version? Is there something I need to set in Preferences in order to see this option?
I have created two customised invoices. Can I automatically allocate them to specific customers, or better still specific products? Or do I have to manually select the style every time that I raise an invoice?
