Hi everyone, I'm struggling to deal with supplier refunds in Quickbooks online. Basically I returned some goods to a supplier as they were not as described and I received a refund of the original amount into my bank account plus cost of return shipping which was originally paid with petty cash. I've read up on this scenario but am struggling to get my head around it especially as most solutions seem to involve an accounts payable account which I don't have as I work on cash basis. I'm using QB online essentials. Can anyone break down the best process to deal with this? Thanks

Hi everybody, i'm new to QB, but cannot seem to get a definitive answer from support... If i close the books for a particular month, is it possible to Void or Delete an invoice from that month that has been closed? I have been advised you can on a Facebook group, where it warns you before doing it, but can't see how you can as the month has been closed.Thanks in advance in anyone can clarify... :-)
Premier Qkbksused, getting close to exceeding allowed qty of items how can the number be reduced?
I’m a sole trader and sometimes customers pay in cash as soon as I’ve finished the job and I was just wondering if I need to upload invoices or receipts on quickbooks to back up the cash deposits? I deposit whatever cash I earn at the post office and categorise it as business income on my transactions so it is all declared but I’m not sure if I need to back it up with invoices or receipts or is it acceptable to leave it categorised as business income?
The customer is up to date with his account but somehow QB seems to think he is in credit but I can't find out how this has come about
I have noticed that transactions will not show on weekends. Today for example, Saturday, Ive taken a few hundred quid and transactions are not showing (and I've manually refreshed bank). Not normally an annoyance but its end of month and not helping with my monthly record. Will it appear as a Monday transaction now? (in this case, part of next month)Will Quickbooks really not update on a weekend? is that still a thing
Hi, As the title says, how long do bank transactions take to appear in your QuickBooks Self Employed transactions feed? I had two incoming transactions to my account today. One was around three hours ago, and the other around two hours ago. They are both showing up in my bank – it's a Mettle business account – but neither is showing up in my QBSE feed, either via a web browser or the QBSE app. I've just checked in both, and have tried refreshing the app but no sign of the transactions yet for me to categorise, even though the bank account balance showing in QBSE is correct following the transactions. Thanks.
We have recurring invoices that are sent out monthly to customers for rent. one of the properties is now being sold and rent is being sorted as part of the settlement. the invoice for the next month went out before we cancelled the recurring postings. If I void the invoice will the customer be automatically updated or will I need to confirm it with them separately?
Customer was definately invoiced. Used paying in slip and paid cheque into our account. When go into find match page on banking page this customer and amount is not there? Thank you
HiI have a Sole Trader Company and a newly formed Ltd Company which both use QBO with separate accounts. I have transferred funds from the Sole Trader business' bank account to the Ltd business' bank account for initial funds.In the Sole Trader accounts the money has been entered as "Drawings" which is fine. However for the Ltd company, my accountant, has recommended that the money should be classed as a "Directors Loan".I have set up a new account called "XXX Directors Loan" in my Ltd company Chart of Accounts and can see the funds in my imported bank transactions. How do I process the bank transaction in QBO so that it enters the correct account?
I am struggling to grant access for the full 'Projects' function to our project managers - enabling them to see the 'overview' tab of a project unless they are granted full admin access as a user - is this correct as sounds to me a little obsurd? We have upgraded the system to Online advanced as more access rights can be granted - however the projects 'Overview' tab is missing unless absolute full access is granted - thus making 'payroll' accessible to those individuals also. All options exhausted here and unless admin all a user can see in projects is Transactions/Time Activity and Project Reports? Any thoughts very much welcomed!!
How do I move a Category to Income. I have labelled a category and would like to amend it to Uncategorised Income.
Do you ignore the fact it says payment date and then put in the invoice date, ie an invoice dated January, and then paid in February, do you enter this as a January invoice? If entered for the February payment date, then the vat will be claimed in the wrong month. But then when you look at the supplier, the only column showing is the payment date which won't be correct either, for the above scenario. What do other people do please?
can clear year imbalance by one credit but this shows as a random un-allocated credit with 14 sales invoices still showing outstanding balances. Trying to avoid 14 credits !
When I try to upload a CSV file of old transactions I get an error message to say that it hasn't worked. Any ideas how to resolve this please?
I have a lot of invoices to issue and I would like to issue all of them at once, using an Excel file with the necessary information. Is is possible?
