We are using QuickBooks Enterprise Desktop 24. For 2025 we are making many changes to our chart of accounts. After the new accounts are entered, we will need to go in and update all of the items COGs accounts and Income accounts. Is there a quicker way for this process than editing the items one by one?
I invoice using line items, the column is not there to choose from when invoicing. How do I know it's going to the right account?

This seems to be an issue with quickbooks and they need to fix it. Now.
The company I am apart of has 3 different quickbooks files for each company under us. We have a program that interacts with Quickbooks desktop through the quickbooks web-connector. Currently, for the program to sync with quickbooks, we need to have the quickbooks file open for the company we are wishing to sync with the program. This can be brutal having to switch in and out of company files in order to use the web-connector. We also run into a problem when the company we wish to sync is not the primary file logged in. The base question I have:1. Is there a way run a web connector and have it access a quickbooks file without the file being open on the desktop? I know this situation might be unique and my description may not be very good so ask me any questions if you need any clarification of how we are using the web-connector.
We upgraded this year to gain access to the revenue recognition feature as rev rec was a cumbersome task to manage with recurring transactions. Things were working fine when we created our SKUs and created the schedule within the product/services section (for reference, here's a video on youtube showing that process https://youtu.be/FgIZDgCJuFU). I cannot recall receiving notice for this change from Intuit, but sometime around April/May of 2024 the process was changed and now rev rec is handled in a dedicated screen underneath Advanced Accounting in the menu. We caught this change when attempting to setup a new SKU on May 22, 2024. We identified the account mappings for income and deferred revenue were missing in the "Assign product/service" screen. So, we set the account mappings and continued on with the year. Now, we're reviewing our transactions and have identified that every transaction is posting only to the income account twice as a debit an
Can you operate a copy of QB desktop from a company file located in Dropbox? In other words, if I keep my QB company file in Dropbox, I could access and make changes to it from the road with a laptop with internet access and when I return to the office and access the same file from my desktop the changes would be there. Wouldn't this essentially turn QB desktop into QB online? Any reason this would not work?
why is my document not opening but this is? "This XML file does not appear to have any style information associated with it. The document tree is shown below. INVALID_AUTHORIZATION CLIENT Authorization header is missing "
We run QBE and I have a sales person who travels a fair bit and we are looking for a more effective way to enter sales orders. That is primarily what he needs to do. Yes, a laptop, VPN and QBE on the laptop taking forever to load is the worst case scenario, but is there not a better way? An app of some sort that allows some basic functions. From what I can see, everything is still driven around QBO which maybe someday will support the other manufacturing functions we need, but does not work for us now. Any ideas?
I noticed the recently added tags to my Simple Start Plan. I want to confirm that this feature will remain available and usable in bank transactions and reports under my Starter Plan before I start using it. Thank you!
I am considering integrating ServiceTrade and Quickbooks and wondering how best to map customers from ServiceTrade to Quickbooks
There is a not specified Item on the report. I need to find out what is in there. When i click on it it does not take me to the charges that make up the total that is on the report. It loops me back to the report center.
I make money off of my labor. This is generally small items purchased at a hardware store before a job. I'm already paying sales tax at the store, and they're just paying me back. Not sure how I should record this.
Hello, We currently buy dies that we use to stamp out gaskets. We have been entering the dies as non inventory items, which I don't think is correct. What should we be entering them as?
We have a mobile scanner to pick and pack orders, but we also got it to do assemblies from. We would need to import them into quickbooks. Was told we can do that now being told we can't. This has been a nightmare program to work with from the start. Is there a 3rd party app or something to make this work. It was a big part of using Quickbooks. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

A few weeks ago, QBO suddenly started reporting that my SchoolsFirstFCU credentials had changed. Repeatedly I entered the login/password for the bank and it still says they're incorrect. But when I visit SchoolsFirstFCU and enter my credentials there, I'm able to log in. I haven't been able to import SchoolsFirstFCU transactions for weeks now. I contacted the bank and they said they're not responsible for 3rd party apps.
My invoice numbers keep repeating - I had them set correctly for several months and all of a sudden they are now reverting back to invoice #1, #2, etc. Any thoughts? I believe my settings are correct.

Hello. We use QBO Advanced and are interested in using the Revenue Recognition Tool. I can find a clear answer to the following: Can we start the revenue recognition schedule prior to the client invoice? We have a few projects where we recognize the revenue as milestones are reached, but we don't invoice the client until later based on other factors. How would you suggest accomplishing this? Does the rev rec schedule have to be set up with an invoice? If so, can we date the invoice in the future and start the rev rec schedule now? Thank you for any insight into this tool.
We transferred a trust balance from one matter to another. That transfer came through Quickbooks as a journal entry. When I reconciled the account today, that journal entry is showing uncleared. How do I clear that journal entry without messing up the reconciliation?
