Did a fringe benefit check for s-corp shareholders. Received a notice that company owed taxes. Looked at the stubs and saw the s-corp medical insurance was listed and should not have been. So wanted to delete entire check and redo.

I process the S-Corporation Health Insurance in a separate payroll just fot that - I don't understand how the Fed and State income tax withholding were calculated and what amount will the W-2 show The Pay Stub shows the net for the annual insurance and the Federal $ State tax withhold - but it does not show the gross pay processed - How did the shareholder paid for the Fed & Local Income tax calculated in the payroll ???
I have two questions regarding payroll items in Quickbooks Online. First, I need to set up a *contribution* from the employER for a non-elective annual (paid at the end of the year) 3% Safe Harbor. I can't find any way to set that up, the system defaults to per paycheck. On that same note, we're planning on an elective 12% year-end contribution, as well, same issue. Second, I inadvertently set up two payroll items in "Edit Payroll Items" and I'd like to delete them so no one is confused. I don't see any way to delete them from "Deductions & Contributions". I haven't assigned them to any employees because they're wrong and the only info I can find involves simply deleting them from the employee's deductions/contributions. Thanks all!
Hello. We upgraded from QuickBooks Desktop in to QBO late 2022 and began processing our payroll with the new system in mid-January. When I went to file our Q1 taxes, I noticed that our first paycheck of this year was not in the system, causing our taxes to be incorrect. Because I used QuickBooks payroll to process our direct deposits after that, I had to contact support to have the missing pay period added. They added the missing information so that my taxes were correct, but now that I'm getting ready to process W-2s, I have noticed that the YTD wage totals are not correct. The wage information is NOWHERE to be found. I cannot find journal entries for anything other than the tax information. When I try and check the transaction history, I get an error that the information cannot be displayed.I have called several times and cannot get anyone on the phone that understands what I'm trying to say and not a single one of them has been of any help. I either get conveniently disconnected or
I’m trying to write bonus checks for 5 employees and when I get to the screen where you put it the amount, I can only type in 2 employees boxes. The other three don’t have the amount box. What am I missing? QuickBooks online
In Quickbooks desktop I need to change an employee's W-4 from 2020 or newer back to prior to 2020 and in the pulldown menu it won't let me change it back, it is greyed out. Why don't I have the option to do this?
Our company is giving out employee gifts this year that will need to be recorded for tax purposes and the company is covering the taxes owed. What is the best way to do this? The gifts will already be bought, so it's just the value of them that needs to be declared and then have the taxes owed be paid by the company. Thanks!
How do I setup PTO based on hours worked and tenure? I'd like for QBO to track PTO for me and allow employees with up to 4 years, 104 hours, 5-10 years 144 hours, 11-15 184 hours with no rollover.
To begin with, I use Quickbooks Desktop Enterprise not the online version. I need to send a Workforce invite to an employee that has changed her email address. When she tries to sign in, the message is:We can't sign you in. Your employer has adjusted your access to Workforce. You'll need to reach out to them to regain access. She doesn't get any kind of message that allows her to reset her account. As the administrator, I'm not sure how to fix this. I go to the invite page and it doesn't give me any indication as to what I need to 'fix'. All of the instructions for resending on this site are based on the online solution and not desktop. Any suggestions you can provide are greatly appreciated. Thanks,
I have set up employees with a simple retirement owner contribution and employee deduction. I also want to make an owner deposit, one time end of year. Please help me through the steps for business owner.
I've set up schedules for our tax liabilities as well as for the employee and employer contributions for a simple IRA and a schedule for child support. All of our regularly scheduled tax liabilities show up in the "pay taxes and other liabilities" section of the "pay liabilities" tab. Our IRA and child support do not. I have to go to "create custom payments" to find the IRA and child support, which are clearly being withheld because those line items have a balance. I have gone back through to make sure the schedules are set up, and they are. How do I get the IRA and child support to show up in the pay taxes and other liabilities section?
Your mobile app sucks anymore... can hardly even create these posts because the screen not compatible with the pop up keyboard
While applying for the QuickBooks Business bank account just a minute ago, the application would not proceed past the EIN number
HiI just started payroll, and wanted to do it manually for the first couple of runs. I've now set up auto, so everything should be smooth sailing! Part A: I want to confirm whether or not taxes were paid on the active employees at that time (10/30/23 payroll), even though payroll was not run, and no checks have been issued for that date as of yet. I don't know how to check the reports to confirm if taxes were paid. I'm not so concerned about the employee getting paid (because there were two employees: one employee of my company is me and the other is my 16 year old daughter), I am more concerned if all my taxes were paid. that's the whole reason i signed up for payroll elite. I wanted QBO to take care of making the state and federal tax payments in a timely manner. Part B: I don't want to have myself as an employee anyway, so if it was not run on 10/31/2023 then I am happy to keep it that way. I am now planning on turning m
