Today is 25 June and I'm trying to run my payroll.I have an employee leaving on 28 June and he I have updated their profile to say 'terminated' and the reason for leaving. When I run payroll they are excluded from June's payroll run.I do not want to reactivate them because they will be paid for 29 & 30 June.Is this a Quickbooks glitch or am i doing something wrong?
January payroll has run (though I thought it was Decembers). I want to either backout Januarys - or run the missing December one. This is for Quickbooks online with basic payroll
I am winding down my business due to retirement, can anyone tell me how I tell HMRC that my payroll will be the last one ever and I will no longer be an employer
Can these payments be offset against profits for tax purposes?
HiI use QB Core payroll for my four employees, two are salaried so receive the same gross pay each week and two get paid by the hour, but it's usually around the same sort of hours each week. I processed payroll on Friday and paid the amounts to their respective banks. Having just looked at the figures more closely, I wish I had spotted it at the time, I can see that each of them have only been deducted approx half of what their PAYE should be. No details have changed, no tax codes have changed. Can anyone shed any light on why this would be? I believe there is an issue with QB Core payroll software. I will also contact QB on Monday when their phone lines are open again.Thank you
I want to give an employee a one-off non-pensionable Xmas bonus. I have cleared the tick box in settings to indicate that this item is not pensionable pay. But when I run the payroll, it still gives an error saying I need to set up a workplace pension scheme before I can run the payroll. How do I properly prevent this item from sending her salary over the pension threshold?
It was working in Nov but isn't in Dec
This appears to be a problem since Core payroll changes
I have a client that just been upgraded from Standard to Core payroll. She does not draw a salary every month, so previously on Standard Payroll I have been running an 'empty' payroll for those months, i.e. unticking her as an employee, running the payroll with no employees to be paid and submitting the EPS to confirm the same to HMRC. Now, under the new Core Payroll, I cannot see how to do this? If I untick her, as before, I get an error message: "Select employees before you preview the payroll for them." So I select her, but change the payment to be 'skip salary this time only', I get an error message: "You must either enter the hours worked or compensation amounts, or clear the checkbox to exclude employee from this payroll run." So I clear the checkbox to exclude her as an employee and loop round the same process again! What is the correct approach to indicate no employees need paying this period and allowing submission of the EPS?
Hi. Is anybody else receiving messages about payroll sync errors? I can see my bank no longer reconciles due to double posting from payroll after the transition to Core Payroll. I tried the online help but it is not working and recommends calling the helpline......but I don't want to waste my time on a phone line.

This has happened since the new Payroll System was introduced. I do not know if, when, I will employ new staff. thanks in anticipation.
When I ran the payroll in Core Payroll, it didn't create the journal to credit the Employer's NI for employment allowance. What is the correct process now please? Do we create this journal manually ourselves now? Or will it be created by Core Payroll at some other point?
In pro tax, how do I get Box 330 (tax Year) to match Box 30, the tax year on the return is correct but Box 30 is showing the previous tax year?
I want to run payroll early in December for Xmas but Core Payroll says 'You cannot enter a pay run date that is earlier than 15/12/2024, the date you chose to begin using our service.' I don't remember choosing any date... but how do I change this so my monthly pay run can be run earlier?
Is this linked to the change tp the payroll in QuickBooks that happened earlier this year?
So just to confirm with everyone.... Core Payroll has removed the feature to be able to run a 0 zero payroll if employees are not paid in a particular month / week. This means that you have to make manual SUBMISSIONS to HMRC which means that a whole feature of payroll has been removed without consultation or explanation - WE WERE TOLD THAT THE TRANSITION TO CORE PAYROLL WOULD BE SEAMLESS AND EASY! I shall therefore be cancelling my core payroll subscription as now I am paying for a feature that has now disappeared. There is also a bug in your software which causes you to go around in circles when trying to submit payroll which was not there is older payroll versions. The quicker they roll back to the old payroll service the better!
How do I delete a payroll run in the new Core Payroll? I made an error in one employee for the December payroll and I need to delete, correct and re-run. Don't tell me this is another feature that has been removed in the 'upgrade' to Core Payroll!
So, now that the introduction of Core Payroll has left me not being able to process zero hours contract employees, can anyone tell me why all my historical employee pay data has been deleted now that I have been switched over to Core Payroll.Quickbooks has confirmed that the only way to now process irregularly paid employees is to submit manual submissions using the HMRC manual tool (why this is the case I do not know and I know others in the same boat!) But in order to do this I need all my historical employee pay data which has now been deleted from Core Payroll. I cannot cancel my payroll subscription until I have this information. Why are Quickbooks making it so difficult to pay and file submissions for zero hours / irregluar paid staff. When will the shambles of Core Payroll be rolled back to what it was?
Core payroll: How do I change the payslip layout? I need to write a payslip note but it is not showing the whole memo. It only shows 3 words out of the 9 in the sentence. I am not happy with Core payroll, it's a downgrade so we ought to have a price reduction.
