I am very concerned that QB is not giving correct tax year end instructions. Terms like "federal and provincial actions" and "social insurance numbers" do not inspire confidence. I had to search in order to find any instructions at all, and since we pay weekly wages, I have to complete the year end before Friday April 12. I used to use Sage payroll and they sent clear instructions. QB send nothing at all and leave users to find their own way around it. Nothing about P11D or P60 on the instructions, and I think the ones I found are actually Canadian?? Really poor .
Can I pay an employee manually on quickbooks online?
I accidentally chose the wrong bank account when posting the payroll. How do I correct this?
We started using a bank service that auto deposits our payroll into our employees' accounts. QB shows each individual cheque in the bank reconciliation but the bank does a lump sum. Can I somehow bundle the total of payroll to show the same way? It is cumbersome to click on every payroll and then make sure it totals what the bank took out, and make notes for the accountant.
Hello, so I have a very confusing question but I'm sure it can be solved because a lot of other trucking companies do this as well. So we have our own fuel card which our drivers fuel our trucks with but we also have drivers who have their own trucks and use our fuel card to fuel up. When it comes to paying them how do I do it so that it doesn't go on their 1099 amount. For example he made $10,000 from driving his truck and he fueled up $2000 with our fuel card so what we do is deduct that $2000 and his check becomes $8000. Then at the end of the month a bill comes to us for $30,0000 for the fuel, in which $2000 are what the driver used. How do I record his "charge" for fuel without affecting the drivers 1099?Also I would want to record the $30,000 clean for fuel expense without putting the $2000 in, how do I do the fuel expense properly?Attached is a settlement example, how do I record the fuel and the payroll properly?
I am trying to add historical payroll to an employee...how do I do that?
I starting using QB Payroll mid January. An employee was paid on Jan. 7. He has not worked for us since then. His pay check information is not yet recorded. How do I enter it?
The previous bookkeeper:Did not consistently pay salaried employees out of their vacation accrued for vacation days.Did not set vacation to accrue for a new salaried employee.Did not set vacation pay to accrue on paid bonuses.I adjusted the Vacation Pay available as of (specific date) in the Payroll Info tab / Vacation Pay section for each employee but this is not correcting the Net Vacation Accrued balance total on the Payroll Liability Balances report. I would like this corrected before our fiscal year end this Friday.Thank you.
I did QB desk top for payroll, end of the year when creating T4s CRA indicating not sufficient CPP deducted and when employee do their taxes not enough taxes deducted. Why?
Hi,I need to modify T4 ( Box 14, add amount in box 40). Also, I need to modify boxes A, J and L in RL-1.I believe desktop version allowed to modify. Is it possible to modify in QBO? Thank you
We setup a loan repayment for an employee. His loan was paid off $50 every pay period through QB and is recorded. His balance is now at zero (also as per QB). However, every pay period a warning comes up that says "This employee has an advance or an outstanding advance pay balance. Enter or confirm the advance or advance pay balance repayment amount(s). (It is at $0.00). Also there is a side entry, that says Adv. Pay Bal $ -50.00. How do I get rid of this stuff? I've confirmed in the account that the advance has been paid off in full and the reports show the payment going to the correct location. PLEASE look at the attachment QB Warning.pdf,, so that you can see what I'm seeing, before commenting.
I am using QB 2017 Desktop. There is a YTD entry from 2005 in each of Vac Pay Accrued and Accrual Paid out which needs to be reversed out in order to make the reports correct. QB does not allow for a negative YTD entry and I don't think I should just delete them. What is the best way to correct these two Payroll Item accounts?
