Hi, I try to act import invoices from CSV. All good, but I want new customers to be added as well, and there is no "customer email" column in the import interface. Ho can I import receipts / invoices, including new customers with their emails?
Sorry if this is obvious or has been asked before - I did a lot of googling beforehand and can't find anything. I bought a few things from my personal account before forming the LTD company - they were all business costs/start up costs. How do I record these in quickbooks and claim VAT back from them, without affecting the bank balance recorded on quickbooks (which is currently connected to LTD company bank account and correct)? Hi there I’m not sure if this is the right board but if not I’m lost in more ways than one! I run a small shop and i don’t know what to categorise my stock as. If I buy a vase wholesale for example is that “stock”,” stock purchase” or “purchase”? I’ve seen similar questions on this but there is a lot of talk of “stock asset” but that doesn’t show up on my category selection … and I don’t know the difference between any of it. I have such a simple business (I buy things, I sell things) so I’m loathed to get a book keeping for something that seems, on the face of it, very simple. Thanks so much
I have pre-fixed each supplier invoice number with a three digit number followed by a space, a hyphen, a further space, then the actual supplier invoice number. This allows me to search supplier invoices in a numerical order in Transactions/Expenses relating to their physical copy which is stored in same numerical order in a pdf back up file on my computer. For me, this is a really useful back check routine to locate any mis-entered invoices. However, when sorting the Transactions/Expenses column, I have found that the QBO order sequence can return some invoices inaccurately out of sequence - which makes no sense as it is a simple numerical sort request. I have checked the invoice field of these invoices in case of a rogue space, but they have all been entered correctly. Very frustrating! It's made my record keeping system completely useless. What's going on here?
Hello, I'm currently in the process of switching over to Quickbooks Online and was wondering what would be the best way of categorizing my initial business premises rent deposit. I also have a number of propane gas bottles which I payed an initial deposit for. The deposits for both the rent and the gas bottles are returnable to me if for example I moved premises / returned all the gas bottles to the depot.Up until now on my old system I categorized these deposits under 'Current Assets' in a separate account called 'Repayable Deposits' - would that be the same way in QBO or is there a better/correct way to account for these repayable deposits?
Hello! I've been dilly-dallying over this and need some advice, please. I have managed to export my Wave data as a csv file - however this is an all transaction list (including double entries for credits/debits etc). I can see that if you have tidy lists of invoices or your charts of accounts, these can be swifty imported using Quickbooks itself, but that isn't the data that I have managed to pull out (I don't need Customer lists or Vendors etc - they are very few) So - do I try and import my data, or is there a better way of just moving everything over to Quickbooks? HELP! Thanks :)
Hi, I'm new ro QB and only have access to a tablet. I'm a self employed carpenter on new build, I'm VAT registered but new build is zero rated. I get paid weekly, can I manually input 5he payments made to me? CIS has been activated on my account as has VAT. Ideally I'd like to manually input payment made to me, along with receipt amounts to claim VAT owed.

A client has paid an invoice with two separate transactions (two weeks apart).I marked the invoice as paid thinking I could then match the bank transactions to the paid invoice, but this does not seem possible. How do I match the invoice to the two transactions please?

Hello, My transaction usually sync automatically from my Monzo bank account. However I have noticed that three months are missing in the middle of the year. I have tried exporting these months and importing them but it keeps saying there was an error. I note that it says that the import tool is for "older" transactions that the date of the automated sync - however these missing transactions are after I turned on the automated sync. Is there a way to import these three months manually?
