On Intuit Online Payroll there was a simple button to export your payroll data into an IIF file for Import into Quickbooks Desktop. In the Quickbooks Online Payroll I was switched to, there does not seem to be that feature?
I upgraded to QB desktop 2023 earlier this year. I just tried to print my W2 forms and it would not let me. It said I was missing several fonts. I was able to pull most of them from my old computer. One font it requires was not on my old computer and I cannot find it anywhere on the internet. I do not want to uninstall and reinstall qb for one font. Does QB have this font for download? Hi,I have a client who is not fluent in QuickBooks and recently opened a new business. He created a new QuickBooks account for this business, which was a smart decision. However, he has asked me to set up payroll for the new business, and I am encountering some issues. While I was able to add employees and their details, I cannot seem to set up their actual pay runs on his new QuickBooks account. What do I need to do with this? Thank you!
I tried to file the Hawaii Copy of the W-2 by going to Employees>Payroll Tax Forms & W-2s>Create State W-2 and E-File, but Hawaii is not on the list of supported states. Hawaii requires electronic filing of the W-2s and we can submit the same file submitted to the SSA. Where can I find that file to upload to the state website?
I recently took over payroll for a company. There’s an employee who has an ITIN instead of an SSN, he also says he is authorized to work in US. QuickBooks Online won’t let me enter the ITIN in the SSN field, and I need to issue this employee a W-2.The previous bookkeeper issued their old W-2s with the ITIN in the SSN field, but I'm not sure how to do it. Any advice would be helpful.

Hawaii now requires most, if not all, employers to submit their W-2 information online via a file upload. It requires a specified format outlined in their handbook: https://files.hawaii.gov/tax/eservices/ebiz/24pubef10_EFW2_Specs_Sep2024.pdf Currently, QB does not have an option to create this excel file to Hawaii specifications. When going through the normal state W-2 options, the drop-down does not have Hawaii listed as an option. QB needs to create the functionality to create this Excel file for upload.
We have just migrated to QB Online. I am trying to map the payroll accounts properly but cannot find where to map the Direct Deposit Liability Account. I have set one up with our numbering scheme, but don't see anywhere to map it. Your help would be appreciated. Thanks

Hello dear community members, Does any one know how to add Box 12 employer sponsored health insurance amount to employees' W2 forms? I contacted on January 3, 2024 Quickbooks payroll service and they kept telling me that it can not be done. Any solution? The feature of automated tax and form is turned on currently. Thanks for any input?
We have just discovered that no employee has received a paystub notification since 12/30/24.They should have received one on Jan 6th and again on Jan 13th.I've checked a few randomly and the Email Notifications is turned on in their profile. The email is not going to spam/trash. Their emails are correct and they did receive the W-2 notification that went out separately. I know there is no setting in the Quickbooks Admin console for turning this on or off, so it must be a Quickbooks issue. I've tried contacting support but they are closed at the moment. I've sent feedback and am posting here for further notification.
Hello, Quickbooks is not withholding or accruing the correct amount for the Maine PFML program. The rate should be .05% (1/2 of 1%) but QBs is calculating the amounts as .005%. This is resulting in significant UNDERWITHHOLDING on the employee checks that will have to be made up on future check. I confirmed that the employee rate is correct on the Payroll Item list. Is anyone else having this problem? Have you found a solution? Thanks!

Has anyone in Alabama processed 2024 W2s yet using QuickBooks Enterprise Solutions (desktop)? I can NOT determine how the amount of EX OT Wages in Box 14 was calculated because it does NOT equal the total Overtime (x1.5) hourly wages paid 1/1/24-12/31/24 per the Payroll Summary. Further, I am unable to reconcile state wages in Box 16...likely because of this same issue. Thanks in advance for any feedback or solutions on this issue.
If an employee is terminated, will they still be able to access their Workforce account, particularly for when W-2s are issued? Thanks!
In QuickBooks Desktop Enhanced Payroll the auto-saved W3/W2 file opens as a blank pdf.I know it was created, I printed it, but when trying to open it again it is blank. Where did the info go?
I am trying to file quarterly forms in QB Desktop for Q4 2024 and am getting a popup that says I need to update payroll before filing forms. This popup occurs repeatedly (at least 20 times) and then quickbooks crashes. It refers at some point to error code PS077. Please help!
I am set up with the Auto File ON but to also mail W-2s to employees myself, I use QB Online with QB Online Payroll. I can that W-3 and associated W-2s were filed. Employee W Employee W-2s are NOT visible. There is actually a not that states "Snap - no match found". How can I access the Employee W-2s in order to print and mail to employees? Thanks in advance.
I elected before January 3rd to print and mail my W2s myself. I went in today to print them and it will only let me preview them with a giant 'Draft Copy: Do Not File' watermark across them. It also says 'Filing Automatically' on the block for this in the 'Payroll tax' area. If I go into Settings it shows"Form W-2 printing You’ll need to print and mail paper W-2s for all your employees this year." So... it appears I'm stuck in the worst of both worlds, I can't manually print with the watermark or force it to electronically file, but according to the settings I need to... Any options?

Does anyone has a workaround on how to calculate PTO for commission employees? Once you select "commission' then the PTO section become grey and no way to use it.
We have had a problem in the PTO not accruing correctly or maintaining the correct balance, and I'm wondering if we have an issue in Payroll Item Setup. The Payroll Item for PTO-Salary was set up as Yearly Salary and I'm wondering if it should have been set up as "Sick Leave" or "Vacation Leave"? When we run a detail report and include hours, it does show hours in sick, so I guess I'm not sure what the impact is when selecting Sick or Vacation in the Payroll Item Setup screen? Does is matter? If we use PTO instead of Sick and Vacation, do we use "Sick" or "Vacation" to track that? The help information that comes up from the Help icon is totally worthless, QB help documentation is poor.
I have signed into the company but there isn't a gear icon. I want to change the UI rate.
