We have recently had to move from QB Desktop (in the UK) and I'm now trying to look at the Data Export Tool but it doesn't seem to be working. Do we need to use this tool just once to export our data somewhere that we can look at it, or do we use it at any time that we need to look up something from the old data?I appear to have got as far as uploading the data file (Step 2 on the QB instructions) but cannot move any further than this? I get a screen saying "Make sure we got the right company file" but can't click continue? What else should I be doing? What else do I need to do? Also despite all the emails saying that QB Desktop will discontinue on 30th June 2023 if I try to open my old Desktop system today it says "QB Desktop has reached the expiration date and will no longer open company files"All in all it's a bit of a shambles really. Has anyone had any luck with this please?

Hi, We are thinking of converting from Desktop to Online and have noted that the attachments can't be converted.Has anyone come up with a work around for this as we don't have the paper copies now? I've seen where the files are saved but they are all in individual folders that are titled with a random series of letters and numbers so it's not like we can say what they are without going into each folder. Is there anywhere on Desktop this folder info is stored that we could export to create a mapping of what is where? Thanks
this message comes upin amber when I email the statements - this has only started happening recently. Sometimes my customers receive their statement and some don't receive them

I hate this new look. Drilldown reports that previously filled a single screen are now wider than my 23inch screen meaning I need to pan to see the whole line. It's a massive productivity hit.How to I set things so I need to continually hit "Switch to Classic View"
can anyone help?
Hi, I'm wondering if anybody could help me? I'm currently taking on a building project which I have had an estimate accepted and the work is currently underway. I have invoices linked to this estimate however I need to reduce the estimate because I have a plumber who has supplied the bathroom suite and part labour. I can't seem to work out how to do this, as when I reduce the relevant line number, the remaining subtotal doesn't appear to change from the existing estimate. Only the total estimate figure.
Hi - I'm following the QuickBooks prompts when looking to 'Export my reports' from QuickBooks Desktop. However the link isn't working. This is the page I'm directed to QuickBooks Desktop Help Links Redirects (intuit.com)What should the link be?Thanks
As a UK charity, we keep records of three types of equity - Restricted funds, Designated funds and Unrestricted funds. At the year-end, we need to wrap these up into separate accounts to show the retained funds of each type (to prove to the Charity Commission we only use restricted funds within their restrictions). However, QBO only allows one "Retained Earnings" account. Has anyone got a solution or workaround for this?
Is it possible to see a project profitability report which includes the cost of labour?I have the time allocated to the project in weekly time sheets. It shows up as either Nonbillable or Unbilled time on the project page dependent on whether I tick the billable box ok, but I can't get it itemised in the project profitability report. The project is a set quoted price so I don't want to bill the client individually for labour expenses, I just want that cost to show up in the profitability report. Surely it's a pretty basic requirement to include the labour costs in a project profitability report? Any help appreciated!
My invoice layout appears to have completely changed for some reason, and the new layout looks nothing like my old invoice layout, it is missing my bank details, the Qty of goods sold to a customer, the font is different. I have not made any changes to my layouts and when I go to the Gear Icon and Custom form styles, the layout looks exactly like my old layout, so why is it printing a completely random layout when I go to print an invoice?
I'm having issues with the rent I pay for my workshop categorised under Rent/Utilities/Insurance is classified as a disallowed expense. This certainly isn't right bu HMRC rules, and as my single biggest overhead expense it's difinitely a problem I need to solve. It seems other people have had similar problems but I haven't been able to find any kind of solution. Thanks.
Apologies for starting a new thread, but the last Barclaycard post was a month ago so I wasn't sure if I have a unique problem or a continuation of the problem others seem to have had. I've been unable to download transactions from Barclaycard for the last month, all I get is an error 102. I normally use teh Windows app to access my QBO account or occasionally the Firefox browser. I've tried (many times) to re-enter the login details (which has always fixed connections problems in the past), tried clearing browser caches, tried the Windows App, Firefox and Edge browsers (in standard and private modes and in the case of Firefox, also using a container) all with the same result. I can log in to my Barclaycard account through their website. I phoned Quickbooks Online help and the person on the other end of the line went through the above again but was unable to get past the "open in Chrome" bit of her script as I don't have Chrome and won't install it on this comp
A disappointing service by Intuit and MoveMyBooks!! Used MMB to covert/migrate 2 years of data from QBDT to QBO. Having a look at our VAT on QBO, MMB decided to change 1000s of Zero rated transactions to Exempt!! now have the laborious task of changing the code from 'E' to 'Z' Customers/Suppliers whose account had a Zero balance on QBDT, now have a +/- balance, this could be due to the exchange rate difference (we use GBP and Euros) but saying that, according to MMB it should have converted Euros to GBP using the same rate that was in QBDT, so why the different balance?? My main concern is one of our Euro Suppliers had a zero balance (our last transaction with them was in 2015) MMB have converted/transferred the data now showing that we owe them over £25,000!! Intuit helpline say contact MMB as they can't do anything about the data transferred. Emailed MMB (as there is no other way of contacting them), they say contact Intuit and they can't do anything ab
