Halloween this year may not be celebrated as we're all used to but, that doesn't mean we can't have just as much fun. Share your fun family Halloween costumes or decorations (Quarantine-style) with our Quickbooks Community today! We might not be able to celebrate with our friends, family & neighbours, but this will certainly help us feel a little more connected. Check out how Kelly Ripa & Ryan Seacrest reminded us all of when Tiger King took over the Internet at the beginning of the year!
We have 2 companies in QB - these two companies are owned by same company. At first we used QB for both companies. We have dash 1 or 2 after the accounts. Then used different classes...each store had their own. Then a few months ago we separated them into two companies in QB to avoid confusion, which is great. Store 1 did take in an ROA for store 2 and then entered using deleted account! This account is NOT on Chart of Account even when I unhide and add inactive ones. So how does QB allow this. She did it in a JE, How is this possible. She did it in a JE dated Sept 30 and we separated months ago. When I try to use this account she used in an JE it asks if I want to set up the account. So how could this have happened?
Hello, The GST tax has gone missing only when I am trying to generate a purchase order. On the invoices it is still showing and the tax is active under the "Taxes" section on QuickBooks. Could you please advise? Thank you.
I am trying to categorize my bank feed transactions. So I have transferred $ from a savings to checking account. However when in the savings bank feed I cannot add transactions as a transfer b/c is says its the same account I'm working in.. So how do I classify it as a transfer to the checking account while in the savings bank feed? The money once in the checking is then recategorized as an expense to make a payment to a subcontractor.
I have it for a business we had overseas I purchased it in the USA Now I am trying to set it up for a Canadian business and it wont let me change the tax options ex: HST for the sales and expenses?? Is it not compatible for Canada?
I have a supplier that charges us random amounts for multiple invoices. For example we will have expenses for $100, $200, and $50. Our supplier charged our card $310 in September and then charged the remaining $40 with new invoices in October. I am doing a reconciliation and I have a combined total of $310 on our bank statement but $350 worth of expenses for that month. So I cannot get the reconciliation numbers to match up. Should I not be entering these as expenses and rather as Bills? I have just taken over doing this for my brothers company so I am not sure how to fix this all. I apologize if I don't use the correct terminology, I do not have any accounting training.
I have started doing books for a company that is doing some land development and selling lots. THe previous bookkeeper entered a large JE for each lot that was sold. She would enter the amount of the lot, the fees from lawyers, GST, commissions etc all on one JE. So I am doing the same to be consistant. Now today I wanted to get the GST remittance ready and Quickbooks does not seem to like the GST on the JE. Wondering if there is a better way to handle this situation. The JE is dated the date of possession of lot - when we get our money, as per our accountant. Our accountant is also new and has not worked in QB as much as me. So I am reaching out here for some guidiance. Should someone know how to handle this. Could I get your email or phone # so I can reach out to you? Or can you instruct me on this chat. Thanks!
I’ve created a custom estimate template for my business. I’m just not sure how to save it under a different name (operational rental quote as opposed to custom estimate template) so I can make different ones for other applications. Any help would be appreciated!
I'm filing our GST and when I look at the report, Line 101 shows our sales but every other line shows 0.00. This is the second time I'm filing the GST, the last time was in July and I had no issues nor have I made any changes to the tax set up. How can I get the GST and ITC's that we've paid to show in this report?!
We are an excavation company. We need to track time for equipment usage. Ultimately we would need to associate the cost of a machine per hour against time used for a customer/project. The system was set up to have the equipment entered under Other name list and time used daily gets entered in Use Weekly Time sheets. I can run the time for a project but not by machine and not with a cost associated with it. Is there a way to run a report to show time and cost? Or is there a better way to track the hours each piece of equipment is used as pertains to a job?
