I have an invoice that was paid directly by customer but I needed to include that invoice in our invoice to customer in order to mark up the percentage. How do I show this bill as paid but not by our funds? If I delete it, it wouldn't be included in the total job cost detail report. Is this possible?

Our company recently purchased a truck that we need to expense on our Schedule C tax line “Depreciation and Section 179 Expense Deduction” I have tried to create an account to capture the Section 179 Expense line on our Schedule C. When I map the account to a tax line, Schedule C Depreciation and Section 179 Expense Deduction is not an option in the drop down list. Is there a way for me to map an account to this Schedule C tax line (or to Form 4562 which would then populate that line on Schedule C)? Thanks for any advice you can offer.
I cannot get both sides of two journal entries to match downloaded bank transactions while trying to reconcile my January 2025 bank statement. I've attached screenshots, but the matching feature does not see the other side of these 2 transactions. I've tried everything I know to try to match the transactions, but the system just does not see both sides. Any ideas? I don't want to mess up my 12-31-24 balance sheet. Thank you, Tony
When I enter text into the name field for custom fields, I get an error no matter how many characters I enter. This happens on both QBO online and QBO desktop app.Error: Name should not exceed charactersI cannot understand how to get this working. Can anyone help, or send be to someone who can? Please?Thank you...
The link does take you to a page to approve the estimate but it is not clear whether it is an estimate or an invoice. And since the email says invoice the whole thing is confusing
I noticed today, 3/19/22, when running payroll that when I try to email (send) a pay-stub to an employee, Quickbooks immediately shuts down. No error message displayed.. just shuts down. Worked fine during last payroll a couple of weeks ago and never had this problem in the past. I did try turning off my firewall and anything else I had running, restarting Quickbooks and still the same error. I also tried sending other documents via email in both PDF and Excel formats, such as Balance sheets and P&Ls. All get the same error.. it tries to send for a few seconds, then Quickbooks immediately shuts down. I'm on Quickbooks Desktop Premier Plus Professional Services edition 2022. All QB and Payroll updates are current. Any help would be appreciated. As another test, I also tried similar features in some other business apps I have sending reports via email and they work fine, so it appears to be isolated to Quickbooks. Any fixes
I would like to create a custom report that shows the actual results as of "This year-to-last-month" and shows the total budget remaining for the year. If I create a budget vs. actual from scratch and choose the options the report is shown correctly (expenses through prior month and full 12 month budget numbers). However, once I save the customization when I rerun the custom report the report the dates shift to both actual and budget showing as of last months. I would like to be able to split the date range for the actual vs budget.
Hi,I want to be able to add 'ship to address 3 ' to a report but this does not seem to be an option in the customize option. Can it be done ?Regards
On my invoices dashboard, I get a red exclamation mark icon that invoices need attention. When I drill into the invoices that need attention, I get individual invoices with red exclamation point icons with the error "delivery issue." The error goes on to say "Invoice undelivered: We coudln't reach some of your customers. Double check email address and try again" with a link to resend the invoice. We have validated multiple times that the email addresses are correct. From talking with Quickbooks support, sounds like an issue multiple companies are having and there is no current time frame for a solution. I'm hoping to find a solution or at least be able to track a ticket number to see progress on getting this bug resolved which is a quickbooks issue, not a user issue. Any details to point me in the right direction are greatly appreciated.
I have Quickbooks Online Advance, and I am trying to create a user who only has access to the report section, for example, income and expenses, but specific to a class. I don't want the user to see all of the charts of accounts.
I use QBO for my accounting and have a few contractors that send invoices. Here is my current processReceive invoice from contractors on 1st of monthCreate journal entry in QBO for the 31st of the previous month that debits the expense account and credits Accrued ExpensesEnter the invoice as a Bill in QBO against Accrued Expenses (debiting Accrued Expenses and crediting Accounts Payable behind the scenes)Pay bill through ACHMatch bank transaction with bill in QBO (debit AP and credit checking)This way, the expense is tied to the month the service was actually performed (i.e., accrual accounting) and helps with my forecasting.A few gripes:QBO does not let you tag journal entries which makes project tracking difficult. I know this is a known issue, but don’t understand why nothing has been done about it.I think it would be smart for QBO to give a “Service Date” field option on a bill for businesses that use accrual accounting. That would remove the need for a journal entry all together.W
Why is quickbooks using the date of an invoice or check for the accounting period?????? Why isn't it like other ERP's where the transaction date drives the accounting period. Because of this lack of functionality, the vendor ledgers are sloppy at best
I have to damage some items out of my inventory in Quickbooks Desktop and when I do I need them to make my Cost of Goods go up. For example, I understand that a damaged item is cost of goods and I want it to reflect that properly in reports. However, I don't know how to do this when I do an Inventory Adjustment. In Inventory Adjustement if I use an Expense Account as my adjusting account as it suggests how will that affect Cost of Goods and make it go up?
Partially open sales orders NOT showing up on an Open Sales Order Report. Does anyone have a fix to this huge bug in QB Enterprise?
Trying to modify expense categories to my specific uses

Hello,I have been managing our company's QB since 2004. I use Enterprise Solutions because of our vast amount of inventory. There is an issue that I do not think is correctable but am seeking advice nonetheless. When the fellow previous to me added in the inventory in 2000, he made several mistakes. We sell a lot of different pipe and fittings and have many classifications - not just Sales and COGS. For instance, we sell Schedule 40 pipe. It's income account is Schedule 40 Pipe, and it's COGS is COGS Schedule 40 Pipe. That way when my P&L breaks down I can see what my profit is per types of pipe, etc. Here lies the issue. He made several mistakes. In the above example, he made Schedule 40 Pipe as the income account, and a completely different COGS account i.e COGS Compression Fittings. If I try to "correct" this, it would change all of my reports from the beginning of time, correct? Which is WHY I have not d
We received a duplicate payment from a customer in the prior year and want to refund it in the current year. We issued a check and want to apply it to the payment to clear it from their account, but QB is asking for the closed period password. What records are changed in the prior year that require the password? I want to assure our accountant that it won't affect financials. Will it?
I have a business logo uploaded that looks fine on my invoices. When the automatic Quickbooks email is sent, the logo comes in so large that you cannot even see what the logo is. It is HUGE. How do I get this logo to be smaller, or remove it all together from the email?
There are many posts out there about vendor refund in quickbooks online, but *all* of them include supplier credit, something that most of us don't have since we are on the low tier. My scenario the vendor has already refund me directly in my bank account. I need to categorize this income. Help me? 🙂
Is there a quickbooks method to simply collect cc info? We want the customer to enter their credit card without being chraged as part of the booking process. My business requires a credit card on file before a customer can schedule a service. We dont charge the customer until after the service as its based on real time. Is there a way for a customer to submit a credit card guarantee thru some secure quickbooks form, so that they dont have to call with a card or email a card number without security?
