I'm trying to add a category "Training costs" to my chart of accounts. It seems a perfectly sensible category to me. But it doesn't fit with any of the "Detail types" that are offered and it's not possible to add or amend these. I don't want to dump it under anything like "Other Misc" I've researched a bit and it seems this is a feature that is really only of use in fitting accounts onto the US tax return analysis. I'm based in the UK where we have a different set of headings (which doesn't seem to be an option in QB). Can anyone shed light of what this "feature" is supposed to do for me? Let me emphasise: this is a UK question. I can see the reason it would work in the US but to me it is just a pain as I will have to allocate a Detail Type but it will in no way be useful to me. Thanks
I've had a QB "Self Emplyed" account for over a year now. I've always assumed it was a core part of QB's offering as I hadn't heard otherwise. Today I receive an email saying the app will be disappearing from app stores in a few months, with no reasoning or context as to why, or what I should do. So I search around and find a few articles from earlier this year saying the QBSE is becoming "Solopreneur", but it seems that doesn't actually exist and may be a US-only thing? Not 100%... So then I head to the pricing page where now the only option is "Quickbooks Sole Trader"... Am I supposed to migrate my SE account to this thing now? Can I even do that? Does it have an app? The documentation seems really lapse and there is a real lack of direction on what I'm supposed to do here... Any advice on the best thing for a little one-man-band to manage his stuff for self-assessment?
I hope someone can help. I cannot find a way of downloading my mileage for a tax year. I only seem to be able to download year by year. If this is correct, I find this ASTOUNDING. I can view my mileage for the tax year but not download it. It seems the only way I can do this is to download both years, in this case 2022 and 2023 and then manually adjust them in xls. Also does anyone else have a problem with incomplete mileage reports. Sometimes I discover that despite auto-tracking being always on on my phone, it randomly stops working and I lose days or weeks of tracking until I log in again. It seems to stop working if I do not engage with the app on my phone regularly, yet there is no warning that this might happen. I only use Quickbooks for mileage tracking and at 3.99 a year this is very expensive but I cannot find an alternative.
I would like to tidy up our accounts and reject/decline a batch lot of estimates from 2022 and 2023, is this possible to do in one go? I can only see that i have to do each one individually which is going to be time consuming.
I'm a newly self-employed person who was previously employed through PAYE in the same tax year. I see that the intended way to set up support for my situation is to use the Quickbooks Self-Employed service. However, my main customers pay me in USD (as opposed to my native GBP), which Quickbooks Self-Employed does not support. Because of this, I am using Quickbooks Online Essentials so that I can enable multi-currency. How can I set Quickbooks Online Essentials up so that I can register my P45 earnings and see my tax reflected correctly on my self-employed earnings whilst maintaining support for multi-currency?
If you backspace twice then Help page does appear but it is a bit worrying for users.
How do I deregulation
How can allow my new accountant to access my QB account?
I have contacted support and they told me to contact my accountant, which I did. Their side is showing GBP. So they contacted support their end but could not see any issue, they have then said they need to talk to me directly but I am unable to contact them. Any ideas as this is preventing me from using quickbooks almost in it's entirety now
For sales personal who need to process invoices and sales but I do not wish to view our company financials.
My account phone number has changed to a number I do not know and I have not consented to… I have verification codes sent to my phone which proves it’s been changed….
I'm 99% certain when I signed up it was 12 months of 90% off however my subscription has just jumped up to full price after 6 months. Is there a way to see if I'm right/wrong?The only reason I'm fairly certain it was 12 months is because top cashback was offering ~£35 for a subscription and it worked out it would effectively cost me nothing to have QuickBooks and if I didn't like the software I could move over to a different one so it was a no brainer.(I am however happy with QuickBooks overall).
I am referring to the green 'prepared' blobs and the yellow 'notes' blobs which appear on the left hand side of the account balances
It requests whether Non Profit/Owner and once inserting this unable to continue further
My laptop died so I reinstalled QB2013 to find out I couldn't start it with my license as Intuit had disabled this from last year. There was a telephone number to call to get a number to install but that just gave a message that everything was switched off in 2023 and then hung up. Purchased 'Self Employed' found out couldn't import from supportPurchased 'Simple Start' found out from support had to use MoveMyBooksThe upload process of MoveMyBooks requires quickbooks to be running with the company file open. Which I can not do as Intuit has disabled this. So I have 2 online accounts and one desktop version that I can't use and 20 years of data effectively lost. How can I import directly from company file?
What I have to do to keep my quickbooks account. Thanks
It is not allowing to update my payment subscription details
