How do I get past an error message "Sorry, an unexpected error has occurred, we could not fetch accounts from your bank." This is a new bank checking account with a national bank. On my bank's web site, the account is shown to be actively linked. Likewise, on the QB side, the bank appears as a linked account. (When I open "manage connections" it is there.) However, it has a switch in the off position. When I attempt to enable it, I always get the same error stated above. I have cleared cache, done the private browser thing, but to no avail. Btw, in QB I do already have a linked credit card account with this bank. Might this be a snag? Do I need to deactivate/reactivate... that is somehow manage connections of checking and credit card accounts simultaneously? Surely would appreciate being able to get this feed on my biz checking operational

I'm new to our company's QBO role. I've tried using the Bank Deposit link to add the money to our account but I'm having trouble getting the numbers to come out correctly. I'm able to transfer the money into our checking/operating account but that leaves the LOC account in the negative. The LOC account is saved under Bank Accounts and the tax form section as Savings. What am i doing wrong?
there are transactions years before that have not been reconciled. How do I reconcile old transactions without undoing any of the current year?
I'm using Quickbooks Desktop Pro Plus 2023. It's a real PIA to match my downloaded transactions since I have to manually add 80 percent of them right now. I researched this and found several articles and videos referencing the ability to use different matching modes, and being able to setup match rules.My Bank Feeds screen (screenshot attached) doesn't have any area where I can setup rules or select different preferences. What am I missing?
I only see "Online Transfer/General Operations" and can't see who made the transfer.
If I am viewing my check register my "ending balance" shows the correct amount. However, if I view my "Chart of Accounts" my bank balance shows substantially more. I can not figure out what is wrong here. My banking number matches my bank register perfectly. But the second I click on Chart of Accounts it is completely different. I need help with this for Quickbooks Online!
I tried using Safari and Chrome and I can enter our online banking username and password, but then it asks for a verification code. When I click the email address on file, QB says the code was sent, but it never appears in our inbox (or spam).
I use quickbooks online for my accounting and a third party merchant to received payments. When I received the deposit in my bank I received the payment for the product plus the merchants fee. Days after, the merchant fee is deducted from my bank account. For example, I sell a product for $1 and the client pays through the third party merchant a total of $1.03. The third party merchant deposits into my bank account $1.03 and later the merchant deducted the .03 from my bank account. How do I record this on quickbooks online that can match my bank statement?
I'm new and trying to put all the transactions for my PayPal account into individual lines. If it is one donor, there is no problem. There is a line for DONORs (or Name). When I split the transaction which is most of the time, there is no line for DONORs. I click on split and then enter the CATAGORY, CLASS, and AMOUNT for each donor. Then I go to the BANK REGISTER and EDIT the transaction by putting the Donors name in the RECEIVED FROM column. One I save and reopen the same transaction (EDIT), there is a new column that says DONOR. This is a very weird way to do this. Is there a better way? Then, I can't find any reports that show the donors. Even the TRANSACTIONS REPORT BY SPLITS report doesn't have the donor's name on it. What am I doing wrong? Thanks.
The QuickBooks Cash and Envelopes is a nightmare. The interest is more than anywhere else but it creates a can of worms working with it and I am currently struggling to properly reconcile my books. I do not trust that this set up is linked to a legitimate bank. The envelopes are not visible as a separate accounts for reconciliation. Transfers between the envelopes and the Cash account are not showing up online to allocate. Transfers between the envelopes and the Cash account are on the paper statement.Generally, transactions showing on the statements do not line up with the transactions online. - I have some showing on the statement that aren't online and I have some online that are not on the statements. Our company received a deposit into our account and it only shows as coming from Quickbooks payroll. We have no idea what it is for and the bank cannot tell us anything. Anyone else have this happen?
Hello, I am starting to look into some transactions that have occurred for a company. They have open invoices for vendors and then some payments were made via wire or ach therefore paid directly through their bank. The prior bookkeeper would categorize those charges from the bank as expenses and not match them to the open invoices. Is there a way to fix this now? I just do not want to mess up their books as some are in prior years at this point.
Need this for exporting the expenses as a CSV.
