So far two of my Employers have received notices from the IRS for additional taxes charged for on the 4th Quarter 2020. The notice does not give an explanation, includes penalties and interest. Once of them got a notice that is was sent to collections with no previous notices. There are all from 2020.
Hey folks! this year our company has offered 401k to its employees, I'm looking to correctly record employee contributions in the QuickBooks desktop program.side note: we are using adp for payroll services. previously I would enter in the payroll info as checks taken out of our bank accounts into the following accounts.payroll expenses 401kpayroll expenses adp feepayroll expenses deductionspayroll expenses gross paypayroll expenses payroll taxes. deductions I would enter in as a negative number, because charges they had accumulated would be removed from their paychecks, then later I would make a journal entry to cancel out the AR Employee account with the deductions account. now that we have the new deductions of the employee contribution I'm not sure how to go about recording this.
I was trying to run payroll and got this message. You've retrieved the latest payroll update and validated your payroll subscription. We strongly recommend that you go on-line again before 11/04/2023 and update payroll. I've updated payroll 10 times since and still getting same message, and no taxes in paychecks.

Reverse a direct deposit made to a contractor today. I sent a deposit to the wrong contractor and realized it after the cut off time today. Anyway to stop or anyway to reach someone that can stop it today?
I’m trying to finish the employee pay history and I’ve been trying all day and keep getting an error message “something went wrong give us a minute and try again”. Is it my computer and my cell phone the issue?
my screen has enlarged
We have a backup copy of our new client's quickbooks file from their previous pro advisor. It looks like the previous pro advisor shut the payroll down. It appears to be under our subscription. However it is still linked to their intuit account.
Who else filed their quarterly WA Cares quarterly filing and found out you collected too much because QuickBooks calculated the premium based on gross wages including tips? Not sure how to correct this but should be fun considering QuickBooks said don’t worry we got you only to not have us. 🙂
I am looking for software that integrates with Enterprise Desktop to do ACA reporting for 2023. Suggestions would be most appreciated.
Hello - I recently started working with QB and am learning as I go. Do I need a subscription to be able to generate a preview payroll report (a report that shows payroll expenses without/before running payroll?)if no subscription is needed, where is this report option located? thank you in advance for your help!
Can Quickbooks desktop payroll direct deposit to Current bank?
One of our employees' phone number changed. I updated our files in QuickBooks Desktop. When he goes in to login to workforce to view his paystubs, it sends a two factor message to his old phone number that he no longer has access to. How can I help him? He's tried calling and had no luck. Thanks for any help!!
Worked great for over a year. Now, for the last several months, it has been completely shutting off this feature, on its own. Not until I manually startup the app, of my own volition, does it send a notification saying that it isn't tracking mileage.....a little too late... Before it is asked: YES, I have done EVERYTHING that your troubleshooting guide suggests. To no avail.
I have a returned ACH direct deposit of an employee's payroll due to incorrect account number. How to I notate this in QB?
I have a girl from Colorado working for me but she is going to school in Texas and resides in Texas.
We have a union company and the benefits are only paid by the company, not the employee. Monthly I calculate the benefits due to the fund and write a check. I'd like to get these expenses added under the "payroll expenses" category. I added them as a "company contribution" in the payroll items and that worked... it did add it under the payroll expenses. But I'd like to see it broken out as to how I entered it as I entered my benefits under specific titles/contract names and those are just being lumped together. Any advice?
I have followed the instructions exactly, but every time I have QuickBooks try to pull the trip log information is claims it can't find any info. It's there, it just isn't reading it like it says it will.
Before I bought Quickbooks desktop, I called and spoke with a salesperson who told me you can do manual payroll, no enrollment or fee required, with Quickbooks Pro. How do I find this manual payroll feature?
