How do I create the w2report text file for Missouri in Quickbooks Desktop. I can't find this anywhere.
I am getting Unknown client-specific tax form printing error 900 when opening my quarterly Tennessee unemployment form. I just completed federal 941 with no problems. I've followed all the online instructions I can find, and nothing seems to help. I filed my last quarter Tennessee UI with no problems. When following instructions I've already uninstalled a bunch of apps that I thought might be conflicting, uninstalled C++ redistributable, etc. Don't know what to do next.
this is a nightmare
Using Desktop version with Enhanced Payroll. I want to verify that I have e-filed my W-2 forms with the SSA. I have not been yet set up to e-file with the IRS. (In process) But it says I do not need to register to file with the SSA. I choose to e-file the W-2s and it seemed to work. But I have no way to know that the info went to quickbooks and then on to the SSA.
I just discovered that if you have $10 million or more in payroll, Quickbooks will not produce W-2s in one group. I just wanted to know if anyone has ever encountered any problems efiling multiple W-3s. It makes me very nervous.

I need to mail the W2s for both employee/employer but can't figure out how to change setting for pre-printed forms.

Has anyone noticed Quickbooks setting up a duplicate account and enrolling you in payroll services? We use Quickbooks online, but do not use Quickbooks for payroll. Last month, we discovered that we have been billed for two years for an account that is not our account and enrolled in payroll services. I have had the most difficult time with QB customer service to get $1910 dollars refunded. Wondering if I should report this to the attorney generals office in case this is happening to other companies. Feels like the Wells Fargo bank account scam a few years back

I am using QuickBooks Desktop for a few of my clients. Part C of the NYS-45 is not calculating correctly. It is not showing all of the employees, SS #'s and amounts. Sometimes it is blank. Other times, the total 4th quarter wages appear on one employee's name, which is not correct. Forms 941 and 949
I was wondering if there was a way to export the FAMLI report and the Quarterly Wage report in .csv to the compliance of the state. Since they changed to electronic filing only, we've been manually doing all the data entry from the PDF report (PAYROLL > PAYROLL CENTER > PAYROLL > FILE FORMS > UI I QUARTER... or PFML - PAID FAMILY.... > CREATE FORM), so I've been trying to find a simpler way to do it without spending 3 days each quarter doing data entry. I contacted support and the instructions they gave me where not what I needed: Open QuickBooks Desktop and navigate to the Reports menu.Select Employees & Payroll.Choose Payroll Summary or Payroll Detail report.Set the date range to cover the quarterly period you need.Set the columns to show the Total OnlyDouble click the specific area you needed from your report, you have the gross pay, Deductions and many more covered in payroll.Customize any additional filters as necessary.Run the report to view the quarterly
I filed w2s then found out I needed to put health insurance on forms. I sent to state of Illinois and federal government How do I fix
Hello. I am using QB Premier Plus 2024 Desktop; all payroll updates have been installed.I have a new employee that has completed her MO W4 (most recent state form) and opted to enter a "Reduced Withholding" (line 3). The state tax tab with Missouri chosen does not have a place to enter the information from line 3 on the W4. I have asked many people and gotten several different answers, the seemingly most accurate would be to mark that employee as exempt to prevent withholding, which is in essence reducing withholding. (The employee's weekly wages will come nowhere close to accruing MO Tax liability in the amount of reduced withholding that was marked on the form.) I hope this makes sense. Any help would be appreciated.
I received several emails from Intuit stating that they are now going to charge to print and mail w2’s. The instructions clearly state: To avoid paying the printing and mailing fees, you or your clients must change their W-2 settings on or before January 3, 2025.To change the settings, go to Form W-2 printing in Payroll Settings of their QuickBooks Online Payroll account, and choose “I’ll print and mail W-2s to my employees”. This is also clearly posted on the QB Online payroll section of their website: https://quickbooks.intuit.com/learn-support/en-us/help-article/payroll-processes/file-w-2-forms/L8dtYAwC9_US_en_US?uid=m4rigmi3 However, when I went into payroll settings, THERE IS NO SUCH SETTING. The only W2 printing setting allows you to choose what kind of paper to print to. I got on a support chat, always fun, and was told: “I understand the content of the email that was sent to you. But if we checked on our payroll settings, this option is not available. We apologiz
I have unpaid payroll liabilities from Q1 to Q3 2019. I know for certain, they were never paid. When I run the "Payroll Liability Balances" report, I can see the unpaid amounts and can confirm they were never paid. However, when I go to the "Pay Liabilities" in the Payroll Center, these liabilities aren't showing up. It only is showing back as far as Q4 2019. I'm really needing them to show up so I can make liability payments against them. I have already ran the "verify data" and "rebuild data" utilities in hopes of fixing this issue, with no results.
Hello. I use desktop Premier 2016. (I'll upgrade soon.) Beginning January 1st, my small business began offering employer-sponsored medical insurance. The company is contributing 80% of employee premiums, and employees are paying 20%. This is easily set up through our payroll system, Gusto. Every time I run payroll through Gusto, I generate an iif file and import it into QB. It has worked perfectly until now. Since setting up these benefits in Gusto, it is requiring me to map these withholdings and expenses as "Payroll Liabilities" to an account in Quickbooks – currently, the only account it allows me to map to is:Name: 2100 – Payroll LiabilitiesType: Other Current Liabilities When importing the IIF file from Gusto into Quickbooks, QB is slotting the full expense of the benefit costs into 2100 – Payroll Liabilities (the 20% employee deduction and the 80% employer contribution). I've never used QB for payroll and, until this year, have never had a Payroll Liabilities
In QuickBooks Online Payroll am I able to edit information that shows on W-2's in Boxes 18, 19, & 20 to add additional local taxes for employees who work in multiple locations throughout the year? I understand it is not possible to add all of them in Payroll to track throughout the year for auto filling in my employee W-2's but need to make sure they are still reported on W-2's for local municipalities.
Our monthly payroll is processed 5 business days after the end of the month . Using October 2024 as an example, after submitting payroll on 11-7-24I entered a set of journal entries dated 10-31-24 for salary, soc sec, medicare, unemployment, and pension to move those expenses to October. Then I reversed those entries and (dated 11-1- 24) to zero out those accounts for November. At least this is how it was explained to me. How do I go about correcting classing / cost center errors? Most of our cost centers are federal grants. Is it just one new set of journal entries for each payroll expense to correct the classing/coding errors? And should it be dated the same day as the paycheck? One more question. Is there some rule against editing the paycheck itself? If any grant accountants could weigh in, that would be awesome.
Using QB Desktop 2024Using preprinted 2 per page W2's for 2024 The W2 information does not print correctly. The top info is prints ok, but the bottom is off by two lines. Any body else having an issue?
We have a few contractors who would like to switch from 1099 to W2 for the year 2025. I have only done 1099s through QuickBooks. I'm not familiar with how to make that switch from 1099 to W2 and how to calculate their tax deductions for payroll.
I am using QuickBooks Online Essentials with Enhanced Payroll. Can someone please help me to know the best way to handle employee advances & repayments?Often the employees are written a check for say $200 in between payrolls and then pay it back on their next check. The employees are hourly if that matters.
