Hi there How do I deal with a debit card transaction which is an expense that is paid back to me? This is the situation - I provide a service to a customer where I charge an hourly rate. I invoice them at the end of every month for the hours I have provided. Whilst doing work for them I sometimes use their van which I have to fill up with fuel afterward. I do this using the debit card on my business account. I then give them the receipts and they put the money back in my business account. Just trying to work out how to contra this as it is neither my expense, nor is it income? Just to confuse matters even more, last month they paid my invoice with a couple of these fuel receipts included in the same payment into my business account - i.e part of the payment was for sales income and part of it for a couple of these fuel receipts. I just can't get my head around it! Thanks in advance.Dan
I am adding Y in the PAID column in IIF while importing invoices to Quickbooks Desktop. This is not changing the invoice status as Paid in Quickbooks. What am I doing wrong?

Part of our services is to compute the tax payable of our clients. Regularly we invoice our clients for taxes so computed. When a client pays, we need to remit that money to the taxing agency. But there is no Bill yet. Can that be automatically created as we invoice our clients? I will appreciate your insights guys.
Unable to change date on reports . There is no option on screen using iPad. Works fine on pc.
Client contacted me about an issue with quickbooks self-employed after updating the app today. (5/9/19) He has over 10,000 miles logged into the app which I was able to view briefly on the reports page. But when I refreshed the page it would only show trips for today (chrome browser on desktop accessed through pro-advisor) regardless of the filter settings. going back through the reports page did not fix the issue. The figures are even missing from the tax summary and profit and loss! This is the same behavior the client was getting using the app on his mobile. Tried exporting the data instead but that only includes todays as well.
Hello! I have an account just with expenses and now I passed these expenses to a barter account. So I want to close this first account and I need to put it on zero (now I have a negative value). For me to do an open balance entry I need an credit and one debit. I search a lit bit and I saw someone saying that we need to put the value of the balance in debt and in credit I need to choose Opening Balance Equity in the Account column, but I don't have this option.

Due to the effects of Covid-19 on one of my client's business, they are going to be managing all bookkeeping in house for the rest of this year, at least. I have just submitted the final VAT return that I prepared for them and they will submit using their government gateway ID etc going forwards. How do I remove my Agent Services Account details from their VAT centre? The only option I could see was to remove the MTD option but that isn't the case, they will still be registered for MTD but using their own ID rather than mine. I do not want my Agent details linked with VAT returns going forwards in case they make any errors. Thank you Amy
