I've changed from a Windows 10 laptop to a windows 11 laptop. Am attempting to get Quickbooks Pro 2010/2011 working. I have the CD, an upgrade version of QBPro 2010, and have managed to get it to install and it will run the sample company file okay. When I try to use my company file I get the following message."Quickbooks cannot open this company file because it was updated to a newer Quickbooks maintenance release than the one you are currently using. This file was last used with release R3. You are currently using R1."I can't find out how to get it to update to release R3.Other possibly relevant informationI'm in New Zealand and using a version that is specific to my country.I've tried a link I saw to a UK update to R5. It didn't work. Couldn't find my version of Quickbooks.
I am attempting to move from GNU Cash to Quick Books. My accountant uses Quickbooks and has recommended I move over. The chart of accounts appears to be strait jacketed by a limited list of Account Type and Account Detail Type which can be selected. The provided list does not fit with my pre-existing chart of accounts, so I cannot import via the excel spread sheet. Furthermore, as I cannot create my own Type or Detail Type it is going to be extremely difficult to logically set up a new chart of accounts that fits with the old. I am certain that I cannot be the only person confused and disappointed by this. Frankly I just don't get it. How is this the most popular system if you cannot set out your chart of accounts as desired.
How can I run a report to show only shareholder distributions?
Because Intuit are withdrawing QB Desktop from the UK in 2023, we are forced to move to another platform. This means moving our data. All going well so far, but I now need to export the bills of materials for my stock assemblies. Can it be done?How do you do it? Thanks everyone.
Hi We've recently moved from QB Desktop to QB Online and after numerous issues, workarounds and hurdles we've now come up against an issue that we just can't seem to get past and wanted to see if anyone had a solution. We have a sales team who need access to our customers and suppliers, but certainly shouldn't have access to our chart of accounts, current bank balances etc. We've set them up as a Standard User with limited access and both Customers and Suppliers selected. The sales team will often need to view a products sales/cost history when determining a best price for a customer. To do this whilst with a customer in QB desktop they would navigate to items/services, find the item then press run quick report to be able to see all the previous invoices, bills and purchase orders for the product. In QB online they are navigating to products and services, search for the item and then press 'run report' to see the transactions related to this product. However with their user a

Hi guys im new on here, had everything running ok now my etsy seems to have vanished and paypal isnt updating anymore, should it say active on the accounts that have been added as the bank does but paypal doesnt. Etsy has actually vanished and when i add it goes again???
My menu has changed last week, which was a pain, now its changed again today and is terrible.. How can I revert back to the old menu? I have a business to run and don't appreciate having to keep having to learn about new features. It worked well before. Why move it around, auto hide, add sub menus and change the words for the sake of it? Your faithfully a fed up and inefficient customer.

When I'm searching for help in the community, I keep following results and getting to a "Message not found" error, due to the article being deleted. However, these deleted articles are still showing up in the search! Has anybody found a way to stop the search showing results where the message has been deleted? It's incredibly frustrating to see what looks like a potential answer to a question only to find it's gone!
Afternoon all again..Another couple of questions as I get to grips with this..1) I have emailed my supplier the first PO from the system which they received however the acknowledgement has been returned to a no-reply@intuit email address......How can I get the return emails to come to me?2) I would like to change the layout of my Purchase orders, headings, style etc, where can I do this as I can only seem to find how to change the invoice template? thanks in anticipation of any help..Paul

Within my Intuit account, I need to verify my phone number to perform several tasks (including 2-step authentication).My phone number is correct, my phone provider allows SMS and code messages. With other services it works out perfectly fine every time since years. Only with getting text code for Quickbooks it does not work out at all.Thank you!
Anyone else noticed the delay in entering new customer details from the Add customer window within an invoice.It's painfully slow and can take up to 5-10 seconds for the fields to populate. It's the same on multiple PC's and this one is one I'm using at the moment is one of the fastest on the market so it's not the PC's
I have difficulty accessing the Community - and Help & Support could not provide the answer.To access your own posts (and any replies), it is necessary to click on the "two-people" icon at top right of the Community Home Page (after signing in).This gives access to "My profile" and "Notifications".I use Chrome, where this icon does not appear. I even tried Chrome Incognito - still no help.Next, I tried Opera, with the same result.Lastly I tried Microsoft Edge, and, hey presto, the icon appears and I can access my posts.I don't like "Edge" - can anyone explain why this happens?
Hello,We have been running two separate company files for many years. They are reflecting two quite separate branches of the same company. Currently we use an Excel sheet to combine the two accounts for the purpose of tax, audit, etc.We'd like to combine these two companies files now while still retaining some separation which would help with day to day financial management. I was thinking of something as simple as an additional hierarchy level in the charts of accounts for "Branch 1" and "Branch 2" with all the accounts below their branch and something similar for customers, etc.I believe there is no automatic way to do this and also no third party tool available. But can I somehow export all data from QB Desktop into Excel or another editable format? I imagine I could then use VBA to go through all the entries and combine the companies, create the new hierarchy and import the resulting files back into QB. Thank youChristoph
One of our clients has asked us how to do this and we are not sure it is even possible.
