We have 2 separate companies, Company A and Company B, both beverage companies. A vendor of ours normally orders from Company A but they wanted to place an order with Company B. I invoiced this vendor through Company B's books but the vendor wrote a cheque to Company A. Company A normally manufactures and distributes Company B products so they're somewhat related. Both companies have the same owners but different books and bank accounts. What's the best way to deal with this situation? Can I deposit this cheque into Company A's bank account and transfer it to Company B so they receive funds for their outstanding A/R. Thank you

Hello everyone, I am trouble with applying customer credit. My client has approx. 200 customers. Due to Covid 19, he decided to give 170 customer $150 in credit (for invoices that customer already paid in full). He want to apply the credit partially, $60 for the first invoice and the rest is unknown, depends on how the business works in the future. I want to know how I can record $150 in credit and apply only $60 to the first invoice, and still able to keep track on the amount of credit each customer have in balance. Thank you for your support!

HI!I just started QB desktop 2 years ago so bear with me.I work in a small govt office and when I look at the list of AJE, every year some are the same! I asked the CPA auditor about this 3x and he finally understood my question and said he doesn't know how to correct this in QB so it doesn't come up every year.it reads $1,500 debit (to a checking acct) and then $1,500 credit to accounts payable even those this original debt or check was from 2018! he said it was a reconcilation problem.UGH! I don't want to keep entering the same stuff year after year - that is NOT fixing anything! Help me if you can!
Hello I have three questions: 1) What's the correct accounting for charging customers in another province a tax code that applies to them but not you? For instance, if you want to charge a customer in Ontario 13% HST but you are in BC where only the 5% GST applies? You shipped a product to them. 2) Similarly, how do you record being charged a tax rate that does not apply in your province? For instance, a courier is charging you for the shipment in the aforementioned example. 3) Let's say you are a wholesaler of office supplies and have a large warehouse with extra room. If you agree to rent some of the room in the warehouse to a company to store their inventory, how do you go about invoicing them on QuickBooks Online? What are the steps? Thanks a lot in advance :]
I disputed a charge that was on my credit card, my bank issued me a credit for the charge, however, during my reconciliation process, on the my bank statement it is showing, but not in QB, how do I get that deposit to show in order to finish the reconciliation process?
I'm trying to figure out a way to be able to scan case barcodes in the warehouse manager app. I have several products that are either sold individually or by the case. Currently, we have to scan the single product barcode multiple times or manually increase the picked quantity. Is there a way to attach a case barcode to a product so if I scan it, it will pick the case quantity?
Upon posting a payment to a/r customer the original amount to be paid is double in Amount due so the invoice always looks like it is due. The A/R GL matches the listing so I am not sure how to fix this issue. I currently have 4 customers with this issue of which 2 of them I over charged due to it. I have upgraded my Quickbooks 2013 to Quickbooks 2019 and the problem is still happening. I can't find anything on this on google. Can anyone help?
His CPA files a 1040 with a Schedule C. ( not much info from him) Would it be easier to set then up separately? I know QB isn't really made for personal use. I am pretty sure there were funds were used to pay expenses for personal use.
We made a purchase using both gift cards and our credit card. How do I record this in quickbooks online?I uploaded the receipt which shows the total amount, because we want to keep track of the total value of the item. How do I match the credit card transaction with the full amount of the expense? Thanks!
On QBO: I have an invoice from a supplier I forwarded to the receipt e-mail so it shows up in my Receipts. On the Receipts screen, I am trying to use this file to create a payable entry (credit AP debit Inventory). But when I use AP as my Bank/Credit account, I get an error: "You need to select a different type of account for this transaction." How do I do what I'm trying to do?
is there a way to differentiate?
