I need to understand when and how my contractors will receive their 1099 I filed through quickbooks online.
As estimates are non-posting to the accounting of the business, why has QB made it so difficult to do this? My sales team creates dozens of estimates per day, and I have years of estimates on my system. Currently the only way to delete an estimate is to go into each individual estimate and delete. This is a huge amount of time. People have complained about this before, but I still see no solution from QB.
I have recently started testing the use of advanced pricing, specifically the qty discounts. I have found a bug related to the "new price" field under the qty discounts options. We sell MANY items at less than $0.01 and when orders are placed at certain qty such as 5,000 pcs or 25,000 pcs or 100,000 pcs we give a discount. When trying to setup discounts the new price field does not display more than 2 decimal places and rounds the results of the discounts, which is a bug. The sales price field allows for up to 4 decimal places while new price gets rounded and only shows 2 decimal places. These two fields should be treated exactly the same...meaning new price should be exactly like sales price. On invoices the unit price pulls from sales price and new price. Sales price is pulled exactly as it's been entered on the item for each line in the invoice. When the qty discount new price is used to populate the invoice it should not be pre-rounde
When I opened my business I was using my personal card for both business and personal expenses. I paid all expenses for the business with the business checking account and all personal expenses with my personal checking account. These cards are paid off each month. However, I am still showing a liability on my balance sheet for these accounts. How can I correct this with a journal entry to reflect these cards are not a liability? I know I need to credit one account and debit something else but not sure which account. I hope I am making this clear. I include a picture to show. The $1483.80 was the opening balance. Then I had $35.82 business expenses that were paid with the business checking and the personal expenses $1483.80 (which I paid off with my personal checking). However, I am still showing on the balance sheet for this year a liability of $1483.80, which I know this should zero.
Has anyone corrected their 1099s in QBO? It says that there should be a "correct" option next to the individual 1099 that was filed but mine only has a "view" option.
Hello, I am currently using QuickBooks Desktop (QBD) version 24.0. I access QBD from home via VPN. My IT person is recommending me that it is best not to access QBD via VPN and is saying that accessing QBD via VPN will slow down the performance and may corrupt the QBD file. Do you agree? Thanks! Alan
I just upgraded from Self-Employed to SoloPreneur, and all my receipts are gone. Also, all my transactions from before Jan 24, 2024 are totally gone. I need all my receipts and Jan 1-24 transactions for my 2024 taxes. I have been told by customer service (Ralph) that all this was supposed to come over, and they assured me it is a bug and it should have already come over, but nothing has changed in my account. When I just chatted again (Louisa) to follow up with customer service, she told me there is nothing they can do, I just have to wait for an indefinite amount of time...for it to maybe fix itself...and they can't help me get my data downloaded as a backup because she can't access the archives as a T1 tech support, only supervisors/developer level folks can. I was supposed to get called by a supervisor to my cell phone Louisa said...well that never happened. In hindsight...yeah I should have downloaded all my data before upgrading as a backup, BUT t
Is it true that QuickBooks is no longer allowing the import of bank information to the Desktop version?
Hello, Have a client with a company with multiple subsidiaries. One of these subs has a QBO data file/account and is connected to an existing cloud-based PoS system. They have another subsidiary that they'd like to connect a different Cloud-based PoS system to the same QBO data file/account. Currently, they're manually entering all the data in by hand. And, before you ask, no the two subs can't use the same PoS system, each are on different *industry specific* PoS systems. Can you connect multiple PoS systems to the same QBO data file? Was a complete a fiasco just getting one to work... Is anyone doing this successfully? Thanks
My name is Gloria. When I am logged into QB Online, there is a G in a circular icon in the upper right corner where I can manage my intuit account. Can I change the color of that circular icon?
I create an invoice and add to it throughout the month. I send out the invoices at the end of the month. Right now, some invoices when created have the end of the month as the "invoice date" and some (most) of them default to the date the invoice is created. Why do some default to the last day of the month and others do not?How can I make it so that every invoice date defaults to the last day of the month? Thanks!
Does anyone know if QuickBooks assigns a unique id number to each customer that is created in QB's Ent. 23? If they do, is there any way to see or print or export those id numbers?Thank you
We recently started using the approval workflow for vendor payments for Accounts Payable. This seems like a no brainer, but is there not a way to Filter Approved bills in the Bill Pay screen? I am not seeing that there is. It seems to defeat the purpose of an approved/not approved bill if you can just pay whatever, whenever? I at least want to filter out anything that is not approved when I go to pay bills so we aren't accidentally paying pending items.
I can't figure out how to fix this
I cannot open QB because I get a mesage that says. Hold tight. We are upgrading your Quickbooks. This could take a few minutes. I do not get this on another computer. What is going on?
QuickBooks has recently began duplicating transactions, seemingly related to receipts. First, I noticed a receipt was duplicated (resulting in the PO quantity showing more was received against it than the PO total quantity allowed). This morning, I found an invoice that was duplicated (resulting in the total received on the invoice per QB being doubled. The duplication is only shown in Reports --> Transaction History (i.e. the duplicate receipt doesn't appear in the report for the inventory offset account and the duplicate invoice doesn't appear in the Vendor Transactions listing) so this seems to be something going on in the backend of QuickBooks. Also, these were two different customers, different POs, etc. so doesn't seem to be isolated. I'm looking for some support on this issue. Any feedback is appreciated.
We went paperless 10 years ago and relied heavily on the Document Center in QB desktop. It was sold to us by QB as the wave of the future. :(. Now that Intuit has decided to phase out Desktop, has Intuit come up with any tool to migrate the attachments in bulk from desktop to online? We have 10 years of information, and it would appear that documents can only be moved manually, one at a time? There has to be an easier way. Please tell me that there was some foresight here by Intuit. There has to be a migration tool for this.
I am a small company and do not need all the features of Quickbooks for $999 what alternatives are there
This is more of a rant than a question - but I hope someone in a position of authority at Intuit takes notice. The in-app sale pitches for cross-selling and up-selling Inuit products in QBO is out of control. Every day they send multiple messages in various ways in my instance of QBO. Product features, loans, consulting pitches, it's non-stop. Most of these are interruption - interstitials - designed to break your attention from the task at hand and demand you pay attention to whatever they are selling. It's disruptive and rude and there's no way to turn it off. I'm not paying to be pitched constantly - I'm paying for a product - one with very aggressive annual price hikes I might add. Please stop the insanity. Make it stop. Stop harassing your customers, Intuit. You are hurting your brand an reputation. I am at my wit's end with this! Subscribing to your service does not entitle you to harass me for more money every day and multiple times a day. Wake up!

My laptop with QB Desktop 2024 has to go to the shop for repair. I made a backup of my data and tried to restore the data to another laptop with QB Desktop 2023 version. It does not work. Does anyone have any suggestions for me? I will not be able to accept credit card payments for about 2 weeks while my laptop is out for repair. Thank you in advance.
I inadvertently filed a 1099 for one of my vendors for 2023. How do I redact it?
I'm cleaning the books for a client and have a particular check in May that was written to a vendor and cashed by the vendor in May. The May bank statement reflects this, however the check was not cleared on the bank rec in QBO. The opening balance is in check as I'm working my way thru August at the moment and I just can't make snese of how the balance would be spot on when that check was not cleared on the bank rec in QBO. I don't see any other adjusting entries addressing it. What journal entry can I make to clear this so I don't have to go back and undo several months of bank recs? Say the check was written to "Company" for $500 posted to account 5020: COGS: Materials
I have several employees who were set up and paid as contractors. When I run the 1099 summary report, their names show up but no amounts. I've read several set of instructions but I'm still not sure how to fix this.
