I'm having this issue where I can import a QBO file, but when I categorize the transactions and try to add to register, I am unable to add to register. Instead, I get the error message, "You don't have the permission to perform this action. You need to contact your primary admin for access." I am the primary admin and I was able to import a QBO file and add transactions to the register from the bank feeds center for last month's activity. Only thing that has changed since is that I updated the company file. How can I solve this? Getting this for multiple company files now post-updating.
Reconciling for checks I wrote that were returned, then run again. The bank statement has the check processed, then deposited and then rerun. When doing the reconcile it is off from the check being run again. Is the best way to just skip the original processed line and then the deposit line, just reconcile against the reprocessed date?
I wrote a payroll to my employee for $1,000.64, however, when the bank cashed it, they did it for $1,000. They caught it after the fact and subsequently withdrew the .64 as a separate transaction. So now, I have the payroll check unable to match it correctly due to thier error. Please help me. I have 2 transactions, one is $1,000 and the other is.64. I can not categorize or match them.
I am trying to import a number of expenses defined in a csv file. These should go into a specific QB account. No matter what I try, it does not work. I tried two approaches: New->Batch Transactions, Select entity type=Expenses; Import CSV/ExcelTransactions->Bank Transactions->Upload from file->Drag an drop or select files. For the first approach, no matter what I try, the import process rejects my "Expense" or "Expenditure" values in my .csv/.xlsx file for the required Type field. For the 2nd approach, I am unable to assign expenses to one of my budget line items. I have spent a couple hours trying to get this to work.
I have been trying to deposit a check through mobile deposit since 12/30/24 and I keep receiving a red exclamation mark that says, "Whoops, something needs to be fixed." Followed by "Hmm, that didn't work. Try again." We have deposited many checks via mobile deposit in the past with no issue. When I contacted QB on Monday about it they said, "they are working on it". This is a HUGE inconvenience to the end user. It's been 3 days and I am still unable to deposit this check.
I have been using it for a year, but needed to perform a re-install and cannot find the download under the settings section.
When I use bank feeds (Chase), it is giving me a message that IE 11 will no longer be supported. How do I change the browser to Chrome within QB Desktop Pro 2018?

When I try to sort by payee (they show up in the drop down menu) , I don't have the option to hit apply and then sort.
My bookkeeper sent a check to a company we work with two times on accident, I told her to void one of the checks so we don't make the payment two times. Later in the week I went to our check register to make sure everything was done and there was a stop sign symbol next to the check number that should be going to the bank, then to the company. She later informed me that the stop sign symbol was there before she voided it and after calling the bank and quickbooks help line no one seemed to know what it meant. I am just looking for some clarification if anyone knows what this means or what I should do if anything. I attached a screen shot of what I am talking about, check number 7926 was voided and 7927 should be getting sent out. Thank you for the help and your time!
I have Quickbooks Self-Employed connected to my business PayPal account. All of my purchases made with the account are showing up in Quickbooks as ”Debitcard Transaction” instead of the company name. ALL of them. Why would this suddenly happen and how do I fix it?
I'm very new and had an expense that I mistakenly put as a transfer (so I can't now associate it with an expense). The second one I did, I made an expense right away, and now it shows correctly. Details:- We needed to pay business expenses before our business bank account was funded- We used personal bank account to pay those- Now transferring money from our business bank account to the personal account- I was trying to transfer each expense separate, so that it would show up as an expense and I could attach the receipt to it.- I accidentally accepted an auto categorization that made one of these a transfer- Now I can't change the transfer to an expense so that I can categorize it correctly. How do I convert from a transfer to an expense after the fact? Is there any other way to address the above situation? (Maybe I'm trying to shortcut too much.)Thanks for the help.
I added a new bank account but only the last quarter was imported. I need the whole year. How do I expand the date of import to capture the whole year
For the past few months, I've found 1-3 deposit entries in our check register that are duplicated. I'm sure I didn't enter these deposits twice. I'd like to know a) why this is happening, and b) how to prevent it. Thanks for any leads.
Keep refreshing and it won’t take
Do all banks provide check images when transactions are downloaded?
QuickBooks Checking, marketed as a comprehensive banking solution for small businesses, is essentially a white-labeled service provided by Green Dot Bank. This partnership has raised concerns due to Green Dot's reputation and the nature of its financial products.Green Dot's Financial Model:Green Dot primarily offers prepaid debit cards rather than traditional checking accounts. These prepaid cards function differently from standard checking accounts:Limited Banking Features: Prepaid cards may lack essential banking services such as check writing capabilities and may not support certain types of electronic transactions.Fee Structures: Users often encounter various fees, including charges for card activation, monthly maintenance, ATM usage, and balance inquiries.Absence of Traditional Banking Protections: Prepaid cards might not provide the same level of consumer protections, such as overdraft facilities or fraud dispute mechanisms, that are standard with traditional checking accou
I have a Chase credit card account that has two cards. One card (Monica) is the main card. The second card (Dennis) is an employee card. Quickbooks does not track these properly. I've done some research to try and figure out a solution but I need help. I wanted to just remove the main card since it isn't used but then I realized that Quickbooks is only pulling the bank balance from the main card. What is the proper way to handle this? Is there a way to properly handle both cards? I noticed that even though Monica's card isnt being used, it is using the bank balance and applying all payments to that card, even though the transactions appear on the employee card. I saw a video on youtube where it says I could create a new account in chart of accounts and then move both cards under that account. That made sense. However, I am unable to complete what was shown in the video becauase I get an error saying I cannot make the main card a sub account because it is already in the bank feed.
Hello, apologies if this is a second post but I changed the username from the former bookkeeper and I can’t find the post. The last bookkeeper incorrectly recorded two “payments” to the credit card as credits rather than payments. I have no idea how she reconciled statements and didn’t catch this but she did something. I’m trying to unravel this mess, but not sure the easiest method to fix. The payments due are showing up in my pay bills window. I have confirmed we did make the 2 payments. Can I void these credits and make the payments dating them correctly? thanks!
I have spent the past couple of weeks clearing up 20 years' worth of open vendor balances. It's been a complicated and time-consuming ordeal, but I've finally got our aging A/P report to accurately reflect our A/P liabilities! Hooray!! During this time, a lot of what I did was simply apply credits to open balances on the "Pay Bills" screen, but I've also had to fix checks that had incorrect vendor names and similar changes. Unfortunately, now that I'm all done with that, when I go to reconcile my primary checking account, it is giving me the dreaded message: "Your account isn't ready to reconcile yet. Your beginning balance is off by $39,927. We can help you fix it." On the "Reconciliation Discrepancy Report," it's showing me several transactions, but these do not add up to the discrepancy difference. Further, I can't find anything wrong with them. They're saying that I marked them as "reconciled in register," but these were transactions that WERE originally reconciled -
I don't use online banking, I do manually download transactions and import. But Intuit has programed QuickBooks 2019 to purposely block that feature to extort money out of people. How do I remove the restrictions and allow import (not using online services), no way am I buying an online version of the program.
