Last year we could file our W2's paper. This year they are making us file online using a .CSV or .txt file. I am not finding a way to take the W2's and to export them into one of these type of files. Needs to be filed before the 31st. I see where it can be done on the Desktop Verson but not for Quickbooks online Verson. Thank you
My accountant sent my Futa that is owed for end of year, it does not match what Quickbooks is saying that is owed, how do I adjust the payment in Quickbooks
Hello, We have Quickbooks online sandbox account and we would like to run a quickbooks online payroll reports, but when I go to reports-payroll, there is no payroll informatioin. All I see is employee time details, but no paycheck information. Referrring to this article: Create a payroll summary report in QuickBooks (intuit.com)I should be able to get payroll summary report. We are trying to import payroll data from QBO to our own app. What are other ways we can do this? Thanks!
Is there a way in QB Desktop to have a maximum amount of vacation carry over to the next calendar year? We have a policy that limits the number of hours carried over each year to 120. At the start of the year, left over vacation time can carry over, but anything above 120 would carry over as 120. So, if an employee has 150 hours on 12/31/2023, they would only have 120 hours starting on 1/1/2024.Thanks,Rich
Colorado Department of Labor has sent me a letter about my unemployment rates next year and has a couple new fields not captured in Quickbooks Payroll - they are Percent of Excess and Support Rate - the later is calculated in the Total Combined rate. How do you account for this in Quickbooks Payroll whhich does not have these fields as an option?
Hello, I am trying to merge 2 contractors (1 is a duplicate under a slightly different name) into 1 as I realized when beginning to prepare 1099 forms that there is a duplicate for the same person. I tried following the guidance on the topic found here:https://quickbooks.intuit.com/learn-support/en-us/help-article/manage-customers/merge-duplicate-accounts-customers-vendors-online/L5AOyW9kw_US_en_US?uid=lr9shsn2&_its=JTdCJTIydmlkJTIyJTNBJTIyMjdhMzllZDUtMDA3Yi00YTgxLWJjYTktOGMyNTczZmM3MzRkJTIyJTJDJTIyc3RhdGUlMjIlM0ElMjJybHR%2BMTcwNTAxMjYzMH5sYW5kfjJfOTU1NThfc2VvXzc2M2ZmMjkwNWMzNzM1ZDRjNzg4YTFkZWM2MjM4ODA2JTIyJTJDJTIyc2l0ZUlkJTIyJTNBMTUyNjMlN0Q%3DBut when I do the steps outlined it doesn't give me the option to merge the contractors into one, it just won't save and gives me an error code that another contractor/vendor is already using that name and that I need to change it. Can anyone help me out on how to fix this?
So, I'm going to start another thread about this subject to see what the bot has to say today. I have a client who hires workers on H2A visas. They just arrived at the first of November. They have all been to the SSA office to apply for social security numbers. Experience says they will not get their SSNs before we have to file Forms W2 at the end of January. Some employees filed in November of 2022 and still don't have them. Furthermore, QuickBooks will not allow me to setup an employee without SSN, birthdate, and address, so I can't even write them a payroll check from QBDT Payroll. I have seen on other threads where QUICKBOOKS EMPLOYEES have suggested that we enter a FAKE social security number in order to write payroll. "Just be sure to change it later." So, okay, now I can write a paycheck. What do I do about W2s? Would QUICKBOOKS suggest that I file a Form W2 with a fake social security number, just to get the job done? QuickBooks will not allow me to enter all zeroes, as we have
How do I set up employer match for a Roth 401K?
I use the Weekly Timesheets to record hours each employee works on a project.Regular pay setting is linked to COGS: Cost of Labor for each project. My problem is: when I go into a specific project's Income v. expense section, each employee's time cost is showing up under HOURLY TIME COST and COST OF GOODS SOLD. This is creating a double expense for that project which makes the profit appear lower than it should be. The HOURLY TIME COST includes taxes whereas COGS does not.How do I make the COGS: Cost of Labor line disappear from the Project Expense for each project??
Please tell me why QBO suddenly won't enter tax into the checking register nor will it let me print and file Form 941. Tax payment history for December shows the tax payment, but the register does not. I did click on "record Payment."
Hey Quickbooks -- the state of Maine Department of Labor announced a change in the CSSF Assessment Rate for 2024, increasing to 0.13% from 0.07%. As you know, we are unable to manually change this in our payroll setup, so please make this change in Quickbooks Payroll as soon as possible. Thank you!!!
Why am I not able to run payroll? I am on QBO PAYROLL, and every-time I click Preview Payroll I get a error message: "Something went wrong. Give us a minute and try again. I have been trying for the last few hours, and need to run the final payroll of 2023? Can you please let me know what is going on and how I will be able to process everything?
I would like to know the correct entries for this paycheck. Is the snip image below correct?Or should I separate the net pay as cost of labor-cos (salary of technician-employee) 835.76Payroll tax: 171.49 - employee tax? Nature of business - installation
This is for workforce.intuit.com or the workforce app. We have chatted with QB support to no avail. One advised me to turn access off and back on, sending them (one in particular) a new invitation. We went through the whole process of creating them an account and still no luck. We've verified that they are using the same email address we have.
So, QB clearly offers direct deposit. It is available and possible. Now, my guess is you hit the button and it happens. So, my question is this. Is it just a money grab that you are forced to upgrade for same day vs Friday is usually the payday and holding it until Monday? Which by the way the employees now do not want direct deposit since they were used to the funds on Friday. Now, I can remedy this by UPGRADING and then QB will send the same day. Money grab? Andddddddd 6.00 per month to pay contractors. Someone please explain that fee to me. We know it is already offered and included.
Hello QB Gang, Complete QB Newbie here. I am a Personal Trainer with an S-Corp business that I am the only employee. I formed the business back in 2007 and have been using the same Accountant since then. I started using QB as my accountant is retiring and the cost of a new accountant is prohibitive. Considering the simplicity of my transactions (One Business Checking / One Business CC / Only me as Employee of the business) I am taking a shot at doing my bookkeeping myself. My question:I pay myself twice monthly. My accountant breaks it down to part salary and part "Shareholder Distributions". QB shows that as "Retained Earnings". Is that the same thing as Shareholder Distributions? I do not want to make the wrong reporting. Any help or guidance you can offer is highly appreciate.
Is there a way where I can process payroll to have it in for our system but not actually pay it?
