Employees and payroll

Hi. We are now getting our payroll done through another company. So I was going to cancel our desktop payroll subscription. It keeps telling me my payroll and taxes are overdue. Wondering if all the employees will disappear once I do that? I would like to be able to keep them if possible for past payroll reports or inquiries about past pay stubs. Thank you!

The 941 ERTC worksheets for the 2Q 2021 have changed. Instead of Worksheet 1, Worksheet 2 needs to be generated and completed to flow the ERTC credits to the 941. As of now, QB only generates Worksheet 3.Last quarter there was a workaround to generate Worksheet 1 for the ERTC by putting a 1.00 in the Additional Items section on the first page of the 941. That no longer works.Does anyone have a workaround to generate worksheet 2? We didn't like how QB was tracking the ERTC, so we have our own calculations, but now way of having them appear on the 941. I have done multiple updates and tried filling in every section I could think of on the 941, but cannot get Worksheet 2.Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Does QuickBooks Online offer a Cash/pay card for employess?
I have an employee I set up a wage garnishment in QB desktop payroll. As a company I am allowed to charge the employee an additional $3 fee each time. What is the easiest way to account for this? Thank you.
Can someone share a way to escalate a missing direct deposit case that has been open for 2 weeks past tier 1 customer support? They took the money from my account, it was not deposited into the employee's account and I've received zero help despite at least 10 contacts to "customer support". It was supposedly escalated to the U.S. based DD trace ID team over a week ago and despite being told they would call me several times over the past week and a half, I've received no call. Since I couldn't let my team member--a single mother of 4--go without funds, I turned around and paid her again using a different service. So in essence, Intuit has stolen this money and refuses to give it back to my small business. Intuit has to have the absolutely worst customer support of any company with which I've done business.
How do I setup withholding for child support?
I recently switched over to quickbooks payroll and got everthing set up. It appears that when payroll is processed the deduction go into the liabiltiy account for each item, HSA and SIMPLE IRA. How do I go about sending this money to the employees HSA and SIMPLE IRA accounts?
I am offering my employee's aflac starting 2023. I know how to set up pretax aflac payments for employee deduction, but it will be 100% paid by the company. How do I set this up to get the pretax deductions but not come out of the employee's actual pay amount? For example, right now I have an employee that makes $14 and hour, which after taxes is 503.46. When I enter the aflac pretax deduction, it reduces employee and employer tax payments, but it also deducts amount from employee paycheck, therefore reducing net pay to $486.03, which I don't want because he is not paying the premiums.
Since there doesn't seem to be a way (already contacted and heard back from support) to classify the Other Payroll Items on the employees' pay stubs, I need to make journal entries to move these to a class. Can you please provide guidance as to the best way to do this? Thanks!
What happened to the following in QBDT 2022?:File/Utilities/Import/Import Timer ActivitiesFile/Utilities/Export/Export Timer ListsWhen I upgraded to QBDT Pro Plus 2022 (October 15, 2021), it was there for my last payroll and billing cycle (October 18, 2021) but has since loaded updates that removed these options. Please put it back! I rely on Quickbooks Pro Timer for all my employees timesheets and for billing all my customers/clients.Your experts could only tell me to revert back to QBDT Pro Plus 2021, but that is not an option since I already paid employees and filed withholding taxes in 2022. It cannot go back to an older version and it creates numerous issues with payroll and taxes. This is an easy fix on Intuit's part: PUT IT BACK, PLEASE!
I created an additional pay type of 'admin cell phone' and a co-worker accidentally created it again. Now all our employees have that option twice and I'd like to only have it there once so that it's uniform and the same one is always chosen.
As of not I have tried to save the company name change but get a message that doing so will disable e-services and it will not allow the change to save. I do not see the option under Payroll Settings to disable E-services. How can I change the company name and keep e-services?
Due to the very annoying fact that I couldn't bypass the "Tax Penalties May Apply" screen, I had to put a later date on a manually-written payroll check that I hadn't entered into QBO yet. I truly didn't want to do it, knowing it would throw off my quarterly reports. The checks were manually written on June 10th, but I didn't get them entered into QBO Payroll until July 31st. It wouldn't let me enter the date any sooner than July 1st, due to the "Tax Penalties May Apply". If it fell within the same quarter, I wouldn't worry about it, but obviously, it doesn't. Did anyone ever get a resolution to this, other than calling Customer Support and spending an hour deleting/changing through screen share? We pay enough each month that we should be able to put whatever date into it that we want. I fully understand the Tax Penalties warning, but we should be able to bypass it and move on. I have had QuickBooks for approximately 25 years and had always loved it. I switched to QuickBooks Online in
My business is closed due to covid.I was awarded a grant and part of that is budgeted to go to my employees.I want to pay each employee $5k. It has to go through payroll so I can prove it was spent according to grant guidelines.I would like to get it to them in one check as some of them are on unemployment and I don't want to cause them to lose that check for more than one week.If I put it in as a bonus check it is taxing them at 22%.I think that is alot. If I pay them spread out over several checks will the rate lower? What is the best way to get this money to them at the correct tax rate without risking underwithholding by my business? I don't want to cheat or get around the IRS but I also want to get the most money to the employees without overwithholding due to ignorance on my part?
I am unable to save the employee information with a PO Box. I can save if I make up a street address. Otherwise, I have to cancel out.
I have set up employee deduction for their semi weekly payroll, but how do I set up the payment to the HSA bank of the amount I deducted?
How do I set up sick leave accruals for the new Colorado State sick leave law? 1 hour earned for every 30 hours worked. Please help.. not sure how to come up with the calculation.
I left a job in June 2018 and paid for COBRA health insurance from that employer through the end of 2018. Beginning in 2019, I cancelled the COBRA coverage and began health insurance coverage through the federal healthcare exchange because it was $500/mo cheaper. COBRA coverage would technically have been available to me for 18 months total, through the end of 2019. I have been assuming that I cannot deduct the insurance premiums that I paid for a different plan in 2019 because I 'opted out' of COBRA. Is this is correct? Thank you.
