I am trying to set up Quickbooks for a bicycle shop. We purchase bikes, equipment, and clothing from large manufacturers and resell them. When I buy a bike, for example, do I expense the purchase as inventory or Cost of Goods sold or neither? Help, please!
How can I revamp my Statement HeaderAt present it does not clearly my trading Name and the address is small and logo very smallJohn Staples
I am the consignor. How to record outgoing inventory? All of the topics I can find are for consignees in this community. I am the consignor, I sell the products to my consignee and ship the products to them. They send me a sales report in the end of the month and then I record them as sales. I would like to know how this can be done on QB.
We deduct the CIS from our subcontractors before paying them. When their total gets pulled across from the bank to quickbooks CIS is deducted again so their totals do not add up. is there a way to stop this??
Once I pay suppliers, I then email the remittance to them however the remittance is not showing their account code. This is already set up under the supplier details so it is already there yet it is not showing up on the remittance. How do I show the account code when I am sending the remittance?
Hi,I am just taking on a new lease, as part of the transaction I have to pay a rent deposit which will be held long-term by my landlord (5 years). How do I record this correctly?Does the deposit money remain an asset of my business?ThanksAndrew
Hi, I have only recently started self employed job so when I link my bank account I only want it to show transactions from April to date. Anything before April is irrelevant, is there an option to select dates for transactions to be showed
Hi, Just wondering if anyone knows why on my Invoices & Quotes that my County (Surrey) displays as SR?I thought maybe there was some setting that could be changed? It looks like the how the US display postcodes but I can't see a language option anywhere to change this to the UK format. Thanks in advanceRoss
Is anyone having or had a similar problem to me with Intuit? In April one of my clients was charged for 105 employees despite them only having 43. Perhaps they thought I wouldn't notice. I contacted Intuit straightaway and they promised to either refund me or credit my next invoice. The May invoice came and there was no credit / refund on it. So I telephoned Intuit again and after half an hour of getting nowhere their agent told me they would need to investigate it. The June invoice has just arrived and still no refund. This is disgusting so-called customer service by Intuit. If it were a shop they would give me a refund right away without a quibble. I will now be taking the legal route to recover my money which will cost Intuit far more.
Every time I log into Quick Books it asks for a code, despite my switching off 2 step authentication. This is now an annoyance!!! I am also not happy about QB pushing 3rd party vendors which create a black space over information I need on my invoices. I have also turned off advertising, still QB is desperately trying to get me to use paypall. Not on QB!!!
This morning I received two payments into my bank (Nationwide) that I've been waiting for. I went to QBSE and marked the invoices as paid. I went to transactions to allocate them to business income but they didn't show. I refreshed the bank feed. The bank total balance is showing correctly, including this new income, but the income transactions haven't been pulled over into QBSE.
Hi, We are terminating an employee this period and wondering how i issue/create the P45 for the employee. So far I have terminated them via the payrun. Thanks
Morning All I would like to try and run a report by category and I seem to be struggling. I have been into the customization area but not really sure what I should change it to? I have recently added 7 months worth of invoices to Quickbooks and I am concerned that due to the volume I may well have put a few invoices into the wrong category. I have already found the gas bill in payroll, so I want to make sure I have coded everything correctly before it goes to my accountant. Thanks very much
Hi.Please excuse my naivety. I am still new to doing all this. I am currently snapping all my receipts ie fuel and stock payments. I am, however, struggling as to what I do with wholesale invoices and remittance advice notes.I get wholesale advice notes without any figures on then. I also get an invoice for that remittance advice note via email. I am paying my wholesale bill in random amounts like £1000 instead of paying each invoice separately. My question Is do I need to put each invoice email onto the quickbooks app or do I just file these away and just put the transaction from my bank to the wholesalers down as cost of goods for resale? Hope this makes sense!ThanksSte
I work at two locations that are within 200 metres of each other. Quickbooks Self-Employed app will allow me to save one of the places as a favourite location. However, when I try to add the second place I get the error 'another favourite location is too close'. Is there a way around this? Is the favorite location feature available on the web version of the software? I can't find it anywhere.ThanksMike
I have noticed in QBO that when a new template is created or an existing one edited, the changes are copied to other templates also. This is not proper. Other templates should not be affected. Also creating a new template or editing an existing one and then trying to save gives an error message although it somehow saves despite the error message during Saving that forces you not to accept the changes. What is the fix to the above?
How to I place the refund on the account and zero out the balance? I was billed and paid via a check. so when I post the refund I am showing a credit balance. I want it all to be zero.
Looking to use QBO for more customer management and tracking sales/order status for my small manufacturing business. The stock control products and services part of QBO has been a complete non-starter for us as it's only designed for 'buy a thing and sell that thing' businesses.Don't need anything to advanced - could be as simple as giving a customer/sales receipt/invoice a 'status' e.g. ordered/paid/packed/shipped, etc. Any suggestions for ways to use or adapt QBO to do this - or alternatively, suggestions for simple CRM add-ons?
I am testing QBO Plus on live and also on Test QBO Plus and QBO Advanced versions and have noted the following anomaly. When emailing an invoice QBO incorrectly addresses the client on email body as "Dear [Display Name]" while on the invoice form it is clearly set at "Dear [Full Name]". For example if I have a client "ABC Company Ltd" and under Display name I have it as "ABC Co. Ltd-Ground Floor", QBO will address the client in the Email when sending the invoice as "ABC Co. Ltd-Ground Floor". This is very silly and does not go well especially for clients with tenants in Real Estate.
I have posed this question/suggestion to Quickbooks but have had no feedback. If a default markup % on items is set, why does the sales price not adjust automatically when the cost price is changed? This will save a lot of time in having to edit sales prices manually.Any input?
Hello:I'm researching this for our accounting team and the 'use less secure apps' function of our Gmail suite is being removed which will break the desktop version of Quickbooks. What I'd like to know is if the Online version of Quickbooks uses the same function and if so, is there a workaround my accounting team can use? cheers, flashj
The company bought something for an employee through the business (it has nothing to do with the business, just that we have an account with the supplier and our employee doesn't), the employee has repaid the business the costs of this in cash. When I record the cash payment into our account, how do I categorise this and what VAT code would it have?
My CEO in Austrlalia thinks QuickBooks Desktop KV should have SEPA or XML payment files tha can be sent or uploaded to your bank to process payments to vendors. He knows that the Quickbooks online Australian version offers this and he thinks theUK version must have it to, I know that the Quickbooks US desktop version doesn't have this and I have not seen this feature in the UK version either. Is there any way to create a supplier payment file to be uploaded to a bank? Thanks!
