My PC is running short on memory. I have been running Quickbooks for years and have a large file. I am running desktop pro 2023. Can I delete any old files (pro 2016 etc) from my machine? Will going to the online version help with current storage space or just help going forward?Any suggestions would be helpful.
I am using QuickBooks Desktop Pro Plus 2024, and when I open one of my company files, I am no longer presented with the option to enter the name and password of another user.The Company file acts as if there's only one user setup. I deleted all the users and recreated them, to no avail.See the difference in the attached file.

From what I can tell, it's not possible to add a column to a statement to show the customer's PO#. I have requested several times. This should be an easy add for Quickbooks. Please improve this feature, it should have already been this way!
Hello, Whenever we try to create a new journal entry, the journal entry # is auto populated.For example: If the last journal entry # used was 13, then when I click create new journal entry the journal entry # will be automatically populated as 14. How can we disable this feature to leave the journal entry # blank to be left for manually typing it in? Note that this same auto population feature does the same thing for invoices and purchase orders (probably more but at least these 3) Thanks,Matt
We got a notice that we need to file for our state wage withholding tax. Did Quickbooks already pay the tax that was withheld? and we just file the forms?
I am trying to export my QuickBooks Online data and import this data to Quickbooks Desktop Pro and have tried for 3 days each time waiting for over 12 hours but keep on seeing the following error message upon logging back in: "Sorry, but something went wrong on [time and date] when you requested that a company file be created for downloading. Please click Start Over to try again." I have follow all the steps provided by Intuit help articles and try export the data on the 'app.qbo.intuit.com/app/exportqbodatatoqbdt' page once I'm logged in QBO. Here are the options I selected:All financial data It says that exporting can take up to 12 hours, but is usually less. So I wait until the next day to log in and try to download the exported data file but I get the error message that doesn't specify exactly what the problem is and tells me to start over again. Is it possible to make the Specify Invoice Amounts for Items on Estimate screen larger? I often have to invoice for specific amounts that are less than the full amount and its very difficult to even see what line item I'm invoicing since the program doesn't even show the description. If I could scroll through the estimate side by side I could compare them and it would be easy but while this screen is open it locks the estimate screen. I was thinking that maybe my program is just too old and a new version would of done it better so I downloaded the the trial version of 2024 but its exactly the same. Is there a fix for this?
GoDaddy recently upgraded to MS365 mail servers which only accept OAuth2 authentication. I tried to update my Email Preferences in QB, selecting Outook/Hotmail/Live as the Provider and selecting the Enhanced Security check box. It brought up a Microsoft 365 login screen, but after entering my credentials it brought up an error window stating "Your browser is a bit unusual..." (see attachement).It doesn't look like QB can just open the message in my native email program (Thunderbird) where I can manually send it anymore, so is the only solution for me to have to save a PDF copy of my invoice, and manually enter the recipients, subject line, text message, and attach the file?
I have a client that uses QuickBooks 2020 Pro Desktop version that signs in with the user "Admin" every time he uses QuickBooks. Sometimes QuickBooks remembers that correctly and shows Admin when he opens it but sometimes it shows another username in that field. He would like to make sure it always says Admin in the username field and never opens with the other username. I was unable to locate anywhere within QuickBooks where it would retain that information. I would appreciate if someone could help out with this issue, thanks.
QB onlineI wanted to edit our existing custom invoice but the only template that came up was standard. I opened it, couldn't find what I wanted, left without saving and now my invoice template is different. My payor view is different. I get a message saying I am using an old template and when I select switch template it only gives option for standard template. I called priority circle support and they were supposed to get back to me, but it has been 24 hours and nothing... I've read there was an update and now a known glitch, but I need to get my customer facing invoice back in my view. I need help:1. Getting my custom invoice view back2. Support - the phone support has been dreadful. The last 3 issues I have had have not been resolved.
The option to select bill or receipt is no longer available - it defaults to receipt and cannot be changed. This has only recently changed, used to work fine until a week or so ago. Why the change?
I have been a Certified QuickBooks ProAdvisor for over 16 years and I don't think I have seen this problem before. Maybe it was always there? My client has memorized invoices for her customers and they charge sales tax.This is desktop QuickBooks Pro 2020 version. When sales tax change notices come from the state, they go into their item list and find their sales tax items and change the cities and counties. But just today we noticed that when a memorized invoice is opened and it has the current date, it brings in the old sales tax rate that no longer exists and doesn't catch the new one for the same sales tax group. Those groups are edited quarterly if the state sales tax newsletter shows changes. I was surprised because now they have to go in and open each memorized invoice and check the sales tax rate. My boss is trying to add me to the company's QB account. He has sent me an email invite, and I can log in. However, when I do, I get a message saying, "Your firm already has an account. Ask your firm's QuickBooks admin to add you to the firm's account. Once you're on the account, ask your client to resend their invitation." He has done this twice. I have cleared the cache, copied the invite link and opened it in an incognito browser and a different internet browser window. How can this be resolved so I can access the account?
I have many unbilled time entries for a client. They now want to bill these but change the rates from contingency rates to actual billable rates. There are hundreds of these time entries to be added. Is there a way to change the rates to a service item that's billable without changing each entry individually? Using QB 2023 Accountant desktop version.
