We took a CC payment via QB and it generated a sales receipt. We do not have sales or use invoices and unfortunately they two transactions causing problems have been reconciled. Is there a way for me to change those from Sales Receipts to a deposit or income or any category that we actually use so that our accounts are consistent? I am leery of deleting and trying to recategorize it on the reentry as I do not want the deletion to permanently mess up the books since I have no experience in dealing with these kinds of transactions.Thanks.
I have investigated for awhile in QuickBooks and understand there is an autopay option (on the invoice payment page) but I do not want to leave this up to my customer. I prefer to use Stripe - from Stripe I can easily create recurring payments (they can enter their credit card once) and each month it will automatically charge. My question is, how can I properly streamline and integrate between QuickBooks and Stripe? I would like to issue the invoices from QuickBooks and all payments from Stripe and have everything recorded in QuickBooks. Is this possible or do I need to migrate all to Stripe to issue invoices and payments from Stripe?
I am a residential contractor, using QBO to track costs by project and customer. However, I would really like to add another dimension to this data organization, tracking costs by types of work within each job: "Framing" or "Trim" or "Painting", etc. Ideally, I would be able to use these categories across Estimates, T-sheets, Expense Tracking, and Invoicing.Honestly, this doesn't seem like rocket science, but I cannot seem to find any articles on how I might be able to do this.Would it make sense to use the "class" feature within QBO, or perhaps the products/services feature? I can't even seem to find any basic articles on this website on how to use these features... they may be there, but they do not show up for me when I search!Any input appreciated!
I am converting from a manual system. I need to enter the trial balanve to begin using quickbooks but accounts like land and buildings will not let me input a value.
I need to archive 2003 to 2013 and I don't know how

Whenever we create a new invoice, it automatically prefills in an AR account. How do you change the prefilled AR account? We have a default account that we would like to use and it currently set for an AR that is used few and far in between. Thanks!
We are having a problem with non-inventory items. We are selling these items to customers and upon invoicing the COGS for non-inventory items is not flowing through to the Income Statement. How do we get this COGS to reflect on the P&L accordingly?
Hello all, My company assists with paying for sustainable housing for hard done by people. We receive grants from government agencies and pay for hotel rooms, rent and damage deposits with said cash on our clients' behalf. The only one I'm struggling with is how I should be entering the damage deposits. Currently they are listed as cheques that we issued but I know that isn't right since they will just sit as an unreconciled cheque for who knows how long. Should they be entered as a liability instead? Any help you could provide would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.
I'm helping my dad with his QB Online. I was catching up on reconciliations and noticed some of the payee names are incorrect. How do I edit these without messing up the entire reconciliation?
I have an integration that also imports invoices (which works great); BUT I would love to have a way where QB doesn't continue the invoice number sequentially from the imported integration. So if my usual QB invoice numbering is at number '2020' for example, and then I import an invoice through my integration with invoice number '6001'-- I don't want QB to immediately continue in-house with number '6002', but go back to continuing the '2021'.Is this possible in QB?
When I go to Unpaid Bills Report, I see some vendors with old bills still pending from last year (which is closed). The last bookkeeper used a journal entry to offset that bill amount. But when I open the unpaid bills report, the bill and the journal entry are still there. How can I do to fix this without affecting the books?
