I am a treasurer of a church, not an accountant, and have just upgraded from Quickbooks Pro 2007 to QB Premiere. I started using the new system January 1, but apparently I handled uncleared checks incorrectly during the setup. I had my checking balance from the prior year, but still had 5 checks that had not cleared the bank, so the way I handled this was on 12/31 to enter my opening balance adjusted up enough to cover those 5 checks, and then re-entered the checks normally so my bank balance would be correct going into the new year but could still clear them out when I reconcile at the end of the month. Of course it didn't dawn on me that this would hit the retained earnings (which it did not need to do), but I now understand why it did this. I am still early enough in the year to start over and would like to know the correct way to set up the system with the correct opening checking balance and still be able to reconcile those 5 checks when I reconc
Bank transactions from May 2023 to present do not transfer to quickbooks. I have contact the back and it shows that it stops after May 9. All transactions appears on the banks transactions, but it does not transfer to QB. The bank requested that I get QB to provide the OFX and Conn logs so the bank can determine whose end the problem is on.

in QBO I am doing a bank reconciliation everything matches. The beginning balance, ending balance, the amount of payments, the number of payments, the amount of deposits and the number of deposits. yet i still have a difference. I cant understand how this is possible. the cleared amount is off the same amount. Please help how do i fix this. I did the finish the reconciliation adjustment to move on and the difference is on the next month as well.
I have all of my bank transactions from 2021, and then June 2022- Current. Somehow I'm missing a chunk from Jan 2022 - May and the bank connection is correct and syncing. How can I get these in here without manually entering them?
My bank account was fine. Opening balance in January 1 2023, and I did Reconcile up to 09/30/2023 with matching balance in real bank statement and QuickBooks. Suddenly a difference comes up that I can't reconcile 10/31/2023 the same difference goes back all the way to 1/1/2023????
Each time I select the file and click "Open" it returns a message "Oops file failed to load (probably our fault). Please try again in a few minutes. If it still doesn't work you will probably need to contact us." No chat assistant or other helpful contact method available. Can anyone here help me solve this?
I have cleared caches, but this has not helped. If I go to QuickBooks through the Intuit site, the files will open.
Hi! I just started working on a new client's books. They have about 16K in undeposited funds. For some, but not all of the items, there are outstanding invoices in the customer's A/R account for those approximate amounts. (My client is a landscaper, so his estimated invoices and final paid amounts are often different.) My question is: Can I go and uncategorize the deposits in the checking feed and then apply them to the customer account eventhough they affect a previous year? I have a feeling that income in 2020 was overstated... so that seems like it would be bad to date it back to 2020. So if I can't/shouldn't go back and fix 2020, how do I fix it now? Thank you
I have taken over the books from someone previous. How do I clear out old transactions in my bank reconciliation from years ago? Most of these are done from journal entries in the past. I don't want to re-reconcile from 10 years ago.
I'm unable to import trips from Google. I have quite a few over the past few weeks and adding them manually is not an option. I've been using Google as I haven't had much luck with QBSE's native mileage tracker, which I find to be resource intensive (it also makes my phone's OS unstable). However, I've followed QB's instructions to the letter on how to import trips from Google, but the app doesn't do so and tells me to check back later. I've tried using the .ZIP format as well as trying to get it to read the .JSON file directly to no avail. This seems to be a known issue going back several years, but I've yet to see any community member state they've successfully imported Google trips to QBSE. Does that rare soul exist, or are there any tips from the community on how to make this happen?
Hi I'm on my 3rd bank now due to compatibility issues with Quickbooks and need to get confirmation before I change again. I want to use American Express but I have found many reports as recent as a few months ago about inability to link to QBO or problems with transactions not downloading properly. Have all of these issues been resolved or should I move on and find another bank?
NEW QBO user. I may need to edit some of my deposits to put them in the correct project. How do I do that without Undoing the entire transaction?
Hello,We purchase parts to fix vehicles. And we are COD with vendors, our choice. So we return parts back to the vendor that we already paid for, for whatever reason. So most vendors will mail us a check for the refund after the return is processed. So my question is, how do I record the deposit in QBO? I deposit the refund checks with checks that I receive from our customers for payment of their invoices.Right now, I match all the customer payments that are in the deposit, then I have a balance left over in the deposit to take are of which is the check(s) from our vendors for parts returned. QBO customer service told me when I am done matching the customer payments in the deposit and there is a balance left to clear up in the deposit which is the refund checks from the vendors for returned parts; to click the resolve towards the bottom and that will open up lines to add transactions and I record the each check from the vendors there and that w
