A customer overpaid an invoice and did not want a refund but rather credit to use on the next months payment. I matched the payment to the then open invoice to close it, applying part of the payment received, and created a credit memo for the remaining overpayment and sent a digital receipt to the customer as they had requested. The following month I applied the credit memo to their new invoice and they submitted payment for the remaining amount. Now I have a bank transaction that is partially matched so it can't be excluded, and I can't figure out how to match the remainder of that original payment to the credit memo (same values). How do I match these so I can reconcile my books?
merge new bank account

I'm fairly new to QBO, so this might be a dumb-ish question. I'm reconciling a bank account -- which we do have connected to our QBO -- and there are checks and deposits on the bank statement that aren't listed for that month in QBO. Thus, the balance is off by a couple thousand dollars. What's typically the best way to handle this?
What I'm looking for is the eBay transactions that download under "app transactions" in Quickbooks online. Very frustrating.
When I am running a GL report, it is not showing my deposits?? (Back story: I am having to go back almost an entire year on a new businesses account and correct all the transactions to match them to the bank statement. I had to un-match/ un-categorize all the deposits because they were not linked to customer payments and I have not done that thus far, but I wanted to go ahead and match the transactions up to my bank statement.) So, what report can I run that will show ALL the transactions, even if they are still listed "Under Review?"
What is the difference in "categorizing" and "matching" my bank transactions? Would I need to do both?
I have a QB deposit that shows in deposits but not in the reconciliation window.
I am trying to remove several years of transactions from my files
Since the pandemic, I've made a mess of my business accounting, and I need help categorizing business debt payments that have been paid with personal accounts/funds. I've outlines my scenarios below. 3 ScenariosPaid business credit card from a personal savings account. How should this get categorized in QB Online. I do not have my personal savings connected with QB.Paid business credit card from a personal credit card via a balance transfer. No other purchases are made on the personal card and interest has accured on the personal credit card. Paid business credit card by taking out a personal loan. The loan payments are being made from personal checking account, not the business account. Based on the 3 above scenarios, I need help understanding how to categorize these payments. I'm not sure if these are personal expenses based on this video. If anyone can assist me with these 3 scenarios, that will be so helpful.
Now there is a discrepancy in the reconciliation balance, how to fix it
Finalizing my year end (2022 oh boy) financial statements and noticed that on my balance sheet I suddenly have an amount showing in a clearing accout for a customer. Going to that from the report, I see in the transaction report as a begining balance for the clearing account. Not sure where this "beginning balance" value came from. Anyone seen this before? Should I try to zero out this number? if so, what is the bes way? inactivate the chart of accounts account?
I just upgraded to 2024. When I downloaded from my bank not everything came in. Need to clear out 2022 and redownload from bank. Don't see any accountant tab as suggested from Google. Thanks in advance
Just was going through my statement and noticed a couple charges not authorized or even performed by neat a gas station. 2 of the same amounts of $75 ea. I don't have diesel truck so that's outta the question as to why Soo much was spent at a 711 gas station. Mind you my original fuel purchase of $37 is also on there..so what gives maan?

I have a transaction with a vendor that is a return of goods that needs to be split between 2 customers. in accounting view, when i select the transaction and then split, i am only able to split it between categories and class. In reviewing past transactions, i have been able to split them but I do not see how. It wont allow me to do a negative expense to create a match. A vendor credit does not show up as a possible match in the banking transaction pages. What am I missing to split a transaction between 2 customers for a return of goods?
