I tried to add a new Deduction, but didn't see a way to deposit the money to the employee's IRA. I assume splitting the direct deposit is the way to go.IRS description of Payroll Deduction IRAs: https://www.irs.gov/retirement-plans/plan-sponsor/payroll-deduction-ira
Indiana state withholding form WH-4 allows for additional state withholding (in addition to the regular withholding rate) as well as additional county withholding. Quickbooks does have a field for additional state withholding, but not additional county withholding. Am I missing something or is there a workaround for this?

Do I need QB Payroll service to manually enter payroll in QB online if I already use a outside payroll company to process taxes?
We have a 401k with safe harbor matching contributions. Our plan is set up for deferrals and matches to be calculated on adjusted gross income (as shown on the payroll summary, after pre-tax health, dental, vision, etc) but our payroll items for the 401k deferrals and match, calculate on the gross income of the employee. Is there a fix for this? Appreciate any guidance!
What is the best way to direct deposit partnership guaranteed payments? Can these payments be automated in payroll for the partners? Meaning that when the w2 employees get paid, the partners will also get paid via direct deposit and all deductions related to benefits (401k etc) are automatically taken out as it is done for the w2 employees. Thank You.
We have a policy that the employees accrue vacation at the rate of 0.01346 per hour worked. When I key that rate in, QuickBooks changes it to 0.01333 and it changes it to that rate for every digit after that until I get to 0.0135 at which time it changes it to 0.01361. I can not put in the rate I want. I have tried this in QuickBooks desktop 2017 and 2019 and it does the same thing in both versions. For my next highest category the accrual rate is 0.02833 and it lets me put that rate in just fine. Why won't it let me put in the lower rate that I want of 0.01346? Any help on this would be greatly appreciated. The boss does not like me to tell him something is not possible.
Can I edit a processed DD paycheck in QBO Core that used the wrong bank account that my bank processed in the new bank account?
It seems that no one listens to us. Guam has the same taxes as Alaska. It would be simple to add as either US or International.
I have the State & Federal accounts set up for MI. Do I have to register to pay the local tax and if so can you advise the web site where I register?I know in quickbooks it asks for local EIN-is that just my FED EIN? Thanks in advance for your help.
For Quickbooks DESKTOP....Does anyone know if Quickbooks handles the annual salary cap for employer matching contributions (max salary of $345,000 for 2024). If so, where do I find it or set it up? This came to our attention when our TPA did our annual testing and we found one employee made more than the annual salary cap in 2023 and because of this our company had over contributed the matching contribution. We had to manually remove the ineligible matching contributions from the employee's 401(k) Plan. The only way I can think of fixing it to stop contributing is manually calculating and entering the maximum an employee can receive. In our case we match 4%, so the annual max matching contribution would be $13,800 ($345,000*4%). If I do it this way, then I need to go into the payroll item for the employer match each year to change it to the new years maximum. Thank you in advance for any insight.
Is there a way to create a payroll item that is exempt from tax withholding? In the past I recall quickbooks desktop allowed customization of payroll items. I can’t seem to find an option in qbo. Thanks
I have recently tried setting up direct deposit for a new quickbooks desktop client. I continue to get an error saying "Something's not quite right. Try again later and it should work".I wasted an hour on the phone with QB support, who said this is a problem every user is having. Has anyone else had this issue.
Hello,We have received money from the local state for workforce grant. 100% of the money has to be distributed to the eligible employees. How do I include this distribution on their paycheck without incurring an employer tax liability. Currently if I add a pay type; Workforce Grant and include the monies under that pay item, the employee obviously sees a larger tax withholding; however I also see a significant increase under employer taxes; i.e. social security, medicare, etc. That doesn't seem correct (nor fair) to me as 100% of the grant money is going to the employee. Is there a way to setup a payroll item that excludes employer taxes OR an item that excludes withholding all together such that the employee can pay their own taxes when they are ready. If I setup the amount under "reimbursement" item type, I am worried employees will not pay taxes on it as it will not be reported correctly on the W2. Thank you

in QB Desktop-I need to run a report on the data in the employee profile. I changed 300+ payroll deductions and I want to audit my work before I run payroll. What report can I use that will provide a list of the deductions entered into the employee profile? The only thing I found was the employee withholding report. But this report is messy and the formatting of it doesn't allow me to manipulate it easily.
Most prevailing wage jobs that we are looking to bid for the State of Illinois, or local cities, require certified payroll reports to be submitted to ensure compliance with prevailing wage laws. Is this something that can be completed in QBO, or is it something that QB can assist me with?
Warning notice says to update payroll account by 7/31/21 (to add physical home address). However when attempt to do so, it says I don't have admin privileges, even though I am the admin. Anyone else getting this problem? When I go to My Payroll service, there's no field for entering physical home address for principal so I'm unsure how to update as per the required changes.

If I want the net payroll to be $1000 is there a way to set that up?
how to remove an employee from payroll and taxes?
Mistakenly entered new employee info twice. Deleted one entry, but QB will not allow me to continue with the second as they say the employee is already in the system. I can not locate the employee that is supposed to be in the system
Hello,When reviewing timesheets for approval, the 'reject' option does not appear. All help resources provide instruction on how to select 'approve, unapprove, or reject' employee timesheets in QB Time, but only approve & unapprove options exist in my view. Where is the option to reject timesheet for correction?Thank you for your assistance.
Will the workforce app notify me when employees clock in or out
