Hi, We had a vendor issue a bill (For the sake of this example let's say the bill was $100) to us for a replacement item that would later be offset with a credit (For the sake of this example let's say the credit was $100). When the vendor issued the bill they included a quickpay discount. We paid the bill before having received the offsetting credit, using a check, taking the quickpay discount ($98 payment with a $2 discount applied). The vendor deposited the check upon receipt, but decided that the quickpay discount was an error. So to correct this on the vendor's side, they've offset the bill with the matching credit, and left the check we sent them as an over payment (credit) in their system. I now need to modify things on our end to match, the easiest way I can think to do that would be to change the check so instead of it showing as paying the original bill, it shows as a credit on file - But I can't seem to figure out a way to do that. If anyone knows o
Hello, I'm looking to transition our company files from Simply Accounting (Sage 50 Quantum) to Quickbooks Enterprise at year end. I can set up our trial balance and will be able to input the CAD opening balances, but will want to input the foreign currency opening balances as well without just inputing the CAD converted OB. What I'm thinking is that I will start the company pre year end, post all the outstanding foreign currency invoices individually at the correct year end rate (I would be looking at max of 100 invoices), and then bring in the CAD opening balances as agreed to the closing TB in simply. The sum of the outstanding receivables plus the CAD closing balances should equal the full closing balance on the Simply TB. Once this agrees I would close the year and open the new year 2021. I am not planning on importing every transaction from prior years as we can always refer to Simply for historical records if necessary. Does this make sen

I closed a credit card account that had a negative balance on it. I received a cheque from the bank for that balance. I enter credit card charges under "Enter Credit Card Charges" in QB Desktop. The credit card shows a negative balance, how do I apply this cheque from the bank to zero out the credit card?
We have partners who are loaning income to our business and want to record the contributions as loans as well as the interest. Will QB Enterprise do manually with each contribution? We have a few that are paid interest annually based and monthly. Each partner contributes regularly throughout the year - not as one lump sum contribution.
Hi, I would like to see a list of all the expenses sorted by project and also to see what expenses I have not charged in projects, so that I can analyse if I have correctly categorized my expenses on the right projects and if I have not forgotten anything ? Thank you in advance for your answer. Best regards
Hi, I just installed QuickBooks 2000 for it's third time from the CD.. Now it is on a new stable Windows 10 tower rather than the XP that was getting a little funky. Fortunately I wrote the Registration Number on the inside of the manual cover because it needs IE4 to register online and that isn't happening. Click on Register by Phone and it pulls up the prompt box to enter the registration number.Had to boot the old computer into SAFE mode to run a backup to a USB stick, the last one saved to the network drive was a few months ago and I tend to forget backups. Restored that, so all is good. Just in time for year end. Was thinking though with the new to me computer, just wondering if there are reasons to upgrade my almost 20 year old version to something new. I already figured out how to change my company from GST+PST to HST, ("moved" the company to NB and then "moved" it back to ON and adjusted the rate). I don't write cheques with the software , and I don't use my phon
Does my trial balance look alright, or do I have to zero out the "sales of product income"? Due to it being a contra account?
I am trying to export my QuickBooks 2016 desktop file to TurboTax and it wants a GIFI code for the Undeposited Funds Account. Any ideas what this should be? The same as the company bank account? This is a code for taxes in Canada, I'm not sure if this question area is for Canada or everywhere else too. Thanks!
We had a balance of $50k receivable from a customer, who paid us $20k after adjusting $30k which was payable to one of the vendor as a result of an arrangement between parties. When we received cash of $20k, we reduced our receivable balance to $30k. Question is how to adjust the balance receivable of $30k from the customer to balance payable of $30k to vendor? Many Thanks!
I am trying to reconcile my bank statement and I have an ACH Credit from Intuit Payroll S Quickbooks. I have no idea how to enter this credit as Intuit is not a customer.
when we first switched to QBO from paper invoices, I noticed an error where we overcharged a client on an invoice. On their next invoice we gave them a discount that covered the amount we overcharged plus a little extra for the inconvenience. However, now it is showing a credit on that client's account that the system tries to apply to each new invoice we do for them. I want to get rid of this amount as there is no amount owed to this client anymore. Is there a way to delete this credit? Thanks
I have updated and now I am unable to email an invoice. I have run the QB Tool hub already as well. When I try to email it sends me to a window telling me to log in with google. I try to hit next but then QB tells me that my browser is not secure and I should "refresh". I have done this several times and am still unable to email invoices????
Good Day, I am entering an invoice in QB Desktop Pro 2020. The invoice has items on it that are taxable and the total came to $160.00. The Customer paid via e-transfer and added on a gratuity/tip of $20.00. So I have a transaction in my Chequing account for $180.00 received but an invoice for $160.00. Would I add a line item to the invoice for the $20 Gratuity (with Tax Exemption)? I am unsure how to track this gratuity so that my accounts balance in the end. Thanks very much in advance!Laura
