I don't subscribe to QuickBooks Payroll but I know I e-filed last year. A QBO customer service person told me on the phone that QBO updated this year and I now have to subscribe to payroll in order to e-file. Then a CPA told me that isn't accurate.

I have been using QuickBooks for Mac for 11 years, the 2013 version was the first I used and I upgraded a few times throughout the years, right now I’m on the 2020 version.I would like to take my entire company history with me as I convert to QuickBooks Online for 2024. I understand that there’s no way to reliably import my attachment library, but I’m wondering if everything else including all the transactions will carryover properly? I’m concerned about having the last seven years of my company books available if I get audited. As a second question, I’m just wondering if the basic and most inexpensive version of QuickBooks online will work for me. I use QuickBooks in a very basic way, I don’t use it for estimating or invoicing or payroll or job costing or inventory, etc. I only use it for direct bookkeeping, I enter my job income as a sales receipt and then I enter via credit card or check transactions. Most of my job income is through Square which I enter into
Our company decided to scrap our current account due to it being a huge mess left behind by the previous bookkeeper. I want to set up a new account and simultaneously download all our data from the current QuickBooks account. Is this advisable? And can I also set up the new account with our bank and credit card accounts to download bank feeds in real-time while the old account is still linked to them?
When I email a customer invoice with the correct email address, it states delivery issue even though customer states they have received. Why is this happening? I've sent numerous emails to customers and they say they have received multiple emails on same invoice.What's the story???
I have been using QB since 2012 and QB Online since 2016 and the Purchase Orders are a serious pet peeve with me, since I moved my business to QB Online in 2016. Despite several dozens of phone calls and emails with QB this is still an issue with us. When you generate a Purchase Order the SKU column shows on the screen, however when you go to print the PO or send it to your vendor this column disappears. SKU numbers are very important to our vendors as it is the main way they can identify products in our order and so we can be assured they will ship us the correct product(s). I have some vendors that will no longer accept our QB PO's because the SKU numbers are not on the PO's. Why is this happening and why is it so hard for QB to fix. Incidently, this same SKU number appears on an invoice (to our customers) and shows up when we print of email the invoice - however generally customers don't care about the SKU nu
I'd like to be able to provide customers with an itemized invoice when they ask but don't want to share our mark up % on materials used. How do I make this happen? I have QB desktop premier plus contractor edition 2023. I've tried googling and the FAQs, called Intuit support and was disconnected. I have manage to setup inventory. is there a way to attribute inventory to a project without invoicing immediately. Example, we use 10 x item ABC for the project ZZZWould it be possible to transfer 10 item ABC to the project ZZZ without needing to creating a invoiceThen, at the end of the project, when it is time to invoice, you can track how much item ABC has been use and add it to the invoice easily. The same way billable hours work if link to a projet. Thanks!
I have returned an "Inventory Part" to the vendor. I paid for the "Inventory Part" with a credit card.When I went to record the credit of the returned items on the next credit card statement, I chose the "Item" that had been returned and entered a Negative Qty, to reflect the return/credit.However, while it resulted in a correct inventory of that item, it has recorded the credit to the expense account associated with the purchase. That is a big no-no from Headquarters ... credits cannot go in expenses (even if they are returns).If I try to create a new Item "Return XYZ" then my inventory for that Part will be incorrect ...What is the best solution ? They are going to be reviewing our books for the year soon & I know they'll flip out when they see the credit in the expense. Thank you!
Hi,We’re considering downgrading our account but want to check and make sure that we won’t lose any necessary functionality in doing so and whether we perhaps need to stay on our current plan.Primarily we use QuickBooks for creating invoices for our customers and keeping track of our inventory and quantities on hand. I see that ‘Track your inventory’ is listed as a function that will be lost if we downgrade so I suspect we may need to stay on our Plus plan, however I just wanted to confirm my understanding.Am I correct in thinking that if we downgrade to the Essentials or Simple Start plans we will no longer be able to add Products/ Services and quantities whatsoever? If anyone could clarify exactly to what extent this may be affected by the downgrade it would be greatly appreciated.
got a new windows 11 computer. I am trying to move my QB 2016 Pro to the new computer. I use the move tool in utilities. When I plug the flash drive into the new computer and enter the PW I created for the move I get an error "something went wrong, try again later". It never works.
We want to have our company to only allow people the ability to login from our work IP and that's it. I know other similar programs allow this and when I talked to support they said this is possible but requires our IT to get involved. Could someone explain if this is possible.

I've contacted QBO team and solved this issue before. My business is a service based business, my clients contact me to perform sampling etc. When I'm finished I generate a report and prepare an invoice based on what service I provided. I do not provide or care about "estimates." My issue is when preparing an invoice, I use the first line of the invoice to provide an overview of the service provided, the clients project number if any and date(s) of the service. I then add an empty line with no information to separate the overview from the actual listing of services and products provided with quantities and unit costs. The problem is why do zero's show when no product or service is selected and also on an added line? QBO team solved this once before the "update" to the ever changing QBO program (ongoing beta). I tried the online chat feature but what I got was a to bad so sad reply and a link to useless information about turning an estimate into an invoice article. &
I have QB 2023 V22.0.5 R6.1 I am the admin on the account but do not see where I can sync my company with the QB Desktop mobile app. Is that app only for PCs? I don't see in my desktop menu under the Company tab dropdown anything about mileage except entering mileage rates and entering mileage manually. If there is not an option for linking to a mobile app will that be an upcoming feature for the Mac Desktop? Thank you.
