Hi, I'm having a strange problem. I have created many companies in the past, and this has never happened. I have created a new company (let's call it X), put in the details, and entered some information. I did not set a password on this company X yet. Then I close the file. Next, I can open any other company (let's call it A) and I get the usual QuickBooks Desktop Login box, showing my company name, and telling me "You need to log in as QuickBooks Desktop Administrator to proceed. Please enter the admin (owner) password for the company." I enter the password I set in the past (and use for every company) and log in just fine. However, when I go back to open company X's file, I now get a larger login screen that says Sensitive Data Protection Setup: Create Complex QuickBooks Desktop PasswordTo complete sensitive data protection setup, create a new complex QuickBooks Desktop password. All fields required. User Name - AdminCurrent
Does anyone know if Quickbooks Desktop 2015 will still work if I update my computer to the most recent?
Operating on QB desktop Premier Accountant 2022.I have had 3 different clients with different versions of 2022 send me a backup or accountant's copy that when I restore/convert I get an error message every time stating unrecoverable error and then when I close out of it the file just crashes and closes. IS ANYONE ELSE HAVING THIS PROBLEM?! I have reached out and asked all 3 of them to verify their data and rebuild their data and it runs through with no problems. I have noticed that all 3 also run payroll through their QB. Any ideas?? Any solutions?? This is beyond frustrating and QB support is absolutely no help.
How would I categorize a pre-employment drug screen in quickbooks? Would it be considered a medical expense? TIA

Above is a screenshot of my business checking. The very bottom line dated 04/07/2023 for $2429.64 and on 04/10/2023 for $287.32 ("checking reserve transfer") are checking reserve advances, which is our overdraft protection that the bank automatically transfers (deposits) into our account to cover when we overdraw. Those two transactions are what the bank transferred to cover. On 04/11/2023 the bank took back the amounts borrowed and basically paid themselves back, they charge interest as well that I couldn't fit on the screenshot ($4.04). My problem is that all these transactions are showing as the exact same thing, all deposits, even our payment back to the bank, when that should be a payment or expense? (I'm still pretty new to QBO and am learning how to navigate this confusing system!) How can I fix this to show that they transferred those amounts and then we paid them back plus interest payment, shouldn't these transactions be in opposite columns to basically cancel eac
I have 2 different installations of QBD 2019. In one, when importing an IIF, it creates any account that is named in the IIF that doesn't already exist. In the other, if the account doesn't exist the import fails. Where is the setting that controls this?

Problem with the purchase orders someone used template called "vouchers" and generated a PO test now all PO ref numbers are now gone. QBDT was assigning reference numbers on purchase orders in sequence but after the accountant created the 3 dummy transactions with the reference number "test" my sequence is messed up and it is trying to use PO reference number "test 1, test 2, test 3 and ect. Please any help is appreciated

I have had my IT guy have a look at my QuickBooks after it encountered an error. Last backup was 3 months ago (sorry) so we could not make use of the restore function. After a backup-and-rebuild, we were presented with a rebuild report that highlighted several issues. One of those was the following:Verify Primary: totTrans wrong. Is ### should be ###. What some may see as a benefit here with online backups, I see as a potential leak of data. Somehow, after many years of using QB Desktop, it started backing up to Intuit online. I did not set this up, & have seen articles on how to disable it....but how do I get my private data out of the cloud now? I never authorized Intuit to copy my data to their servers & do not want it there. Hoping someone else has been here & can help, or Intuit engages here to help.
I am a self-employed sole proprietor and was looking to Qucikbooks to help me calculate my quarterly taxes and self-employment taxes. The person in the Quickbooks sales chat yesterday recommended I get Quickbooks Simple Start with the Online Payroll Core package. But now I learn there is a product called Quickbooks Self-Employed which sounds simpler. Do I have the right thing, and if not is there a way for me to switch without having to re-enter my transactions?
I don't see a way to print a single occurring transaction so I can send the copy of the invoice to a client. I only see a way to print the entire list.

HI if I need to write off an inventory item due to a loss or damage etc what is the correct way so that it shows im out the cost of the item as well as the quantity? It seems if the adjustment on hand using the Cost of goods sold account I dont see any change in my P&L or loss? Please help...

Long-time Quickbooks Desktopy user that is hating the forced transition to Quickbooks Online.- In Quickbooks Desktop there was functionality to charge finance charges on past due invoices on demand (only when I want to). I cannot find any such functionality in Quickbooks Online and searched all help resources. Anybody know of a way to do this?
I bought QB online thinking it would be great. It's been nothing but a fiasco.Whoever designed it, seems to have changed everything that Desktop is, to something else that's nonuser friendly, just because they could. I see that there is possibly a "desktop app" that can be used for QB online. I tried to use the help menu to find out how to get this app, but the help menu was totally useless. Has anybody been able to find and use the "desktop version menu" for QB online?
