Hi, I would love to get clarifications from this community.We have a big corporation client that's due to the accounting bureaucracy in making payment to their vendors, they hired us to be their 3rd party payor for their vendors. So the way it works is they make payment to us (retainer) and they ask us to use the money they send to us to pay their vendors. Now, these vendors are not service provider vendors. They provide marketing booth etc. for our client. And the payable amount is most the time large amount, larger than the service hours we provide for the client. My question is can the money our client pay us be lumped under the same retainer category, regardless of what it's used for, service provided by us and/or their vendors booth etc OR it's better to separate the two? Can the money used to pay for the client vendor for marketing booth be called 'retainer'? Thanks in advance!Mutiara
As of now, we receive the payouts daily from eBay, but since it already includes the fees and shipping expense, we don't want to double report them.
When downloading the QBO file from Chase or another banking Institution I then go to setup a new bank account in QuickBooks. I then go and download the account activity from multiple banks and then I Import the QBO data file. I then go into the banking feed center trying to categorize payments and Select the Payee or Add the Payee Names. Unfortunately, when I do, I sometimes get a message that says that the payee is in the vendors list and I still can’t see the payee in the correct field. The reason I know for sure that the vendor is in the database or "Vendors List" is because I have categorized other meal and entertainment charges in the past for McDonalds but now when I go into banking --> Bank Feeds --> Bank Feed Center ---> Then try to choose the payee from the drop down none of the payees (Vendors) are showing and when I add a Payee I can’t see who was added or selected, the fild remains just blank, sometimes when I try to add a payee that I know is in the vendors listed

New accountant handles payment of QB and will upgrade me, but I need to transfer the billing first. I can't find anywhere in the settings in QBSE where I can tell it to do this. I've given access to the accountant, but that doesn't handle the billing.
I missed the October 30th paydate for a salaried employee. It is November 2. I cannot find a way to produce that paycheck. The previous, October 15, check is there. And payroll keeps telling me that my next paydate is November 15th.

There are no connection errors showing, the transactions are not showing up in For Review, Categorized, or Excluded tabs. I am almost certain that it is not a matter of me finding them, they simply are not being downloaded from my bank connection to quickbooks.
I am trying to take the CPE assessment for QBO Beginner skills, and the question is asking how many points it takes to reach platinum tier of ProAdvisor program. I took note in my lesson (and double checked afterwards) that for a firm to become Platinum, it needs 2400-6999 points, but the assessment's multi-choice answer only went up to 1,600. Did I miss something, or is the assessment question outdated? Any advice would help. Thanks

Hi. We have services that are taxable and services that are not taxable. We are on a cash basis. We do not do any out of state sales. We have a small client base located in one state. They are all identified In QBO with the correct sales tax designation. We are a landscape company. We do not separate any invoice with labor and materials. All of our service items are correctly identified in QBO as "taxable" or "non-taxable".So, please do not respond with me checking any of these things out.When I run my Sales by Customer Detail report for any period of time, the bottom line reflects the non-taxable service items in in with the taxable amount. This isn't right.The column in the report that says "total amount" is correct. The column that says "taxable amount" (I customize this column into the report) is incorrect and the column that says "tax amount" (I customize this column in also) is also incorrect.Therefore, the Sales Tax Liability Report is completely incorrec
How do I categorize our 401K? Is it an Expense or a Contribution or what is it? Is there a label for it on the QuikBooks Online or do I have to create one? Help please.
Recently whenever I print checks it prints a yellow bar across the top of the ledger check. As if someone used a 1" highlighter across it. It only does this when printing QB checks. Word, Adobe, etc., don't do this. And it does so even I have the print dialog set to "Black only." Anyone experience/solve this?
