Dear All, I am using QBKs online version and would like to know how to either restart the VAT quarters. - I had done the VAT return 30/06/2019 recently (first entries on QBKs online) as client needed the info urgently. I have manage to input the prior VAT quarter 31/03/2019 (then marked as filed) but can not run the return prior to 31/03/2019 that is for the quarter ended 31/12/2018. HiStill quite new to QB. I need to create a new version of the QBO for our business - then import the files from our current QBO. However I need to filter out certain historical transactions not needed in our new QBO. How easy is it to do this - do you end up not being able to see the wood for the trees...? There will be so many transactions. Also, the history in the new QBO only needs to go back a couple of years - but possibly retain the history (going right back) for certain customers / suppliers or parts of the Balance sheet etcHas anyone experienced the lessons learnt from such an exercise - if so, be interested to hear about your experiences! I've just transferred my business bank account and accidently unlinked the old account which is now closed. This has removed all of the transactions from the last few years. Is there anyway I can retrieve this?
Can somebody please find me so I can get to the bottom of this and continue otherwise I can't see the point of having this app
So that when I reconcile the bank statement to the Bank screen in QB it's one line to one line instead of multiple lines in QB to one line on the bank statement.

I am setting up Advance payroll and am unsure as to the best method to deal with bank holidays. Full time staff are entitled to 20 days plus the 8 bank holidays. Part time staff are pro rata on the 28 days. 1. I am unsure whether I should enter 28 days holiday in Leave allowances or 20 days. It is dependent on how Advanced Payroll treats the bank holidays. 2. If I enter the bank holidays into Payroll Settings, Bank Holidays will the system automatically adjust the pay into 4 days Normal Pay and 1 day holiday pay in the week of a Bank holiday. Will it automatically reduce the accrued leave of the staff member by the bank holiday? If so, then I should enter 28 days. 3. If the system does not do that automatically am I better off entering 20 days Leave allowance and paying the bank holiday as normal pay? If I enter 28 days would I have to manually adjust the normal pay to 4 days and then add a line for holiday pay per employee in the holiday week to get the leave allow

Hi All, I'm setting up a charity account and have created classes for restricted funds (of which there are around 8). I can't see a way of seeing a report that shows type of account (e.g. on the left as rows) and classes as columns. It seems pointless if I can't do this. I can only see how to report on just the classes but not give me the whole picture (which is possible on old desktop versions of quickbooks). Surely if you input classes it must flow through to the overall P&L picture? Or not.....?
I have a very simple side hustle where we provide video production services.Dont want the overhead of being a ltd.Sometimes I need to get people in to assist with various duties, director, additional camera personel. They all operate as soletrader freelancers.Suppose I get paid £1000 and pay a director and camera man £300 each. How do I expense this? I tried using services in quickbooks, but doesn't seem to deduct the costs as I would expect in the taxes section?Thanks in advance
I am in the process of seting up for the first time. I have linked to my bank and loaded transactions. I ran a VAT detail report and found that it has included the deposits into my bank. I have set it up as accrual basis accounting (i.e. not cash) so there should be nothing in the report as I have yet to enter any invoices. Is this normal? It may be important that I am in a fixed rate scheme. It is quite hard to work out but I think the report includes payments for invoices raised in a previous VAT period and does not include invoices raised but not paid duting the reporting period.
Hi there I have been reconciling my accounts and all was working fine but now there seems to be an issue. A £10 difference in July which is causing a standstill. I have checked this against the bank statement and combed through each transaction but cant seem to find an error anywhere. Are there any other ways I can check what is wrong here? Many thanks! E.g £1500 has been paid that needs to be split over 2 invoices, when I try match against the 2 £750 invoices that is the message I get.
