I just paid CorpNet to file to get my unemployment tax id number and I think I wasted my money. This is not good, first employee and I can't even do printed checks.
How do I change my federal tax withholding myself online with QuickBooks?
The new Alabama overtime exemption is a nightmare. The QB instructions need clarification. I am supposed to enter the OT hours and then go to actions and call them exempt?There has to be better way! This is so subject to human error.Please tell me I am wrong.ThanksL

In QB Desktop, I could process direct deposit on Tuesday and it would be deposited into employees accounts on Friday. QB Online, not so much. It wants me to process on let's say Friday, Feb 2 to be deposited by Friday, Feb 9. HELP!
It appears Intuit made some updates to the Payroll side recently. Seems every time they do, there is a little "glitch" like this.

What account and tax form selection should I use for Quarterly 401k Administration Fees? Assume that's an expense I can put under "Payroll" as 401k fees? Also, what account would the ACH to fund the 401k fall under? Example, deducted separately from my payroll, the money is directly deducted from my bank account by the 401k company the funds for my employees 401k contributions. Twice a month deductions run through payroll, but my payroll company does not deduct the money as part of their service, the 401k company does directly from my bank account.
I am an Illinois employer who will be hiring Indiana employees to work on Indiana job. I use quickbooks enterprise. On the state payroll setup new employee tab do I choose Indiana for the state where the employees lives and works? I have other Indiana employees that are set up as living in Indiana but working in Illinois.
My legal name or tax id has not changed. The 2022 year went smoothly. How do I fix this for 2023?
W-2 for an employee seemed low, so upon double checking the wages it is incorrect in the amount of one paycheck. However, all paychecks are correctly listed in Quickbooks online. So, where do I find which check is not reflecting on the W-2 so I can correct the W-2? Help would be much appreciated... because I reached out to Quickbooks help 3 times and they were no help. Thank you!!

My client has multiple pay types due to typos and errors in creating them. How do I permanently remove a pay type? I don't want anyone responsible for inputting new employees to get confused and check the wrong box. To clarify: I am NOT interested in a solution of just "unchecking the box for the specific employee." I want to know how to delete a pay type PERMANENTLY so that it is not even an option when adding a new employee.
