Employees and payroll

I have resent numerous invitations to an employee and he is not receiving them. Changed the email to another that he has and still nothing. I even changed the email to one of MY secondary emails on a different server and it still didn't go through. And yes, we have checked spam and junk folders. Been using workforce for years and have never seen this.

I am not sure how to set up the employee profile to withhold payroll taxes from 2 separate states. I have several employees that live in another state, I understand they should pay to both the state worked and the state in which they reside. In the profile set up "State Subject to Withholding" only has a single field. How do I set up 2 states for withholding tax?(Quickbooks DESKTOP)
Employees are struggling to log into their workforce account linked to our quickbooks online payroll because they already have an account from before we transferred from intuit online payroll. How can I help them to access the new QBO workforce?
How can we retroactively modify 2023 W-2 (and the source data) to change a health insurance deduction that was set up incorrectly as post-tax instead of pre-tax. It's easy to change going forward (just create a new pre-tax benefit), but we'll still trying to figure out how to change 2023 historical data that feed into the W-2's. We must somehow reverse and correct the deductions and related taxes for 2023 so W-2s are correct.
I have an employee that has two different profiles. One is for his monthly allowance and one is for his weekly paycheck. I need to have his ssn in both but it will not let me do it. what do I do when I need to run w2's and things of that nature?
How do I check the box for retirement plan on the W2?
We have QBO-to-Bank links to both savings and checking. Payroll Direct Deposit setup does not let me specify which source account at our credit union is used. By default it is coming out of Banking Savings, but Payroll used the QBO Checking register to show the DD pay.
Hello! I am having trouble matching a tax payment with the bank transaction.Under Payroll Liability I mark as paid through quickbooks, select the Bank from which the transaction was made and the correct date. Then I go to Bank transactions to match the debit to the tax payment under "find match" and no match appears. How can I classify this transaction? ps I have tried many times to connect to the chat, but no one has ever answered there.
Hi! We have an audit coming up and this is the first year the audit must be submitted through a portal online. I have been working to download all of the appropriate forms and reports on QuickBooks. I am running into an issue when I attempt to download the 2023 Q1-Q4 SUC Quarterly Payroll tax reports, the 1099s, W2 forms, W-3 and 1096. When I click the download button (the icon that shows an arrow pointing down to a line___) nothing is happening and nothing is downloading. Is there something I am possibly missing? Are we able to download these forms? I am using the Desktop version. Thank you!
i mistakenly entered a corrected W3 form that was wrong and submitted it. How can i delete this and start over?
The pay date for the check is Friday and I did it tonight (Wednesday)
change employee social security number
The transactions were in the correct class on Jan 7 but were in the wrong class after Intuit rep fixed the current year problem. Online and phone help have been dead ends, so I would like to determine if I can change this myself.
I have Assisted Payroll and have been unable to send payroll since December. There is a hold on the account and nobody seems to know why or how to remove it. I have called 3 times and have gotten nowhere. Here is a timeline of events:12/22/23 - My bank rejected Intuit's ACH (in error). They provided a letter, claiming the mistake. 12/28/23 - Performed a Wire Transfer to Intuit. Intuit acknowledged receipt and gave me an email that said the hold would be coming off the account.1/4/23 - Tried to send payroll for Direct Deposit and received error 2107. Spent 2.25 hours on phone with Intuit employee. They don't know why the hold is there, but gave me Origin IDs to give to my bank. Said that would resolve the issue. I forwarded the origin IDs to my bank and nothing changed.1/16/23 - Tried to run payroll and received the same 2107 error. Called Intuit. Spent 45 mins on phone this time. Matter was supposedly es
Trying to run the first payroll for 2024 but the State SUI rate (Alaska) for employees is wrong. I've checked to make sure I'm using the most recent version and run all the payroll updates but it's still wrong. Unfortunately QB will not allow us to update the employee rate. I cannot express the level of frustration since I'm under the payroll deadline. Is there anyway to correct the employee rate and/or to flag this issue to QB? For someone who is only available at night it's impossible to connect with them.
Hello,I have Desktop version. I use the weekly timesheet to enter employee hours worked and I have a biweekly payroll schedule. I understand it's okay to issue a bonus separate of payroll, at anytime by using unscheduled payroll. When I do this, it asks for a "Pay Period Ends" date. What date do I use since it's not actually payroll? I issued a bonus this way a few years ago and it later caused a problem with payroll. It showed time tracking would not be included since the employee was already paid for this time period. I don't know what I did wrong. How do I correctly issue a bonus without time tracking being affected when it's time to issue payroll a week later?
I'm new to using QB Payroll. When I did the Onboarding process, my employees had already received a couple of paychecks. It had me enter that information and one of the localities was being deducted as of that time at 0.5% and the paychecks done on QB so far have kept the same rate. I've just found out that it's supposed to be 2% and can't find any way to fix it or change it. I talked to somebody on the phone who told me as long as I have the local EIN entered that the rate will be adjusted automatically. I don't know if that's the case with the local rate especially being that this is a small community with everything being done on paper. I just know now that this tax rate has been wrong for a long time and this employee always owes a significant amount of local taxes at the end of the year as a result. So, I guess my question is, will the local tax rate be automatically updated?
I am having issue where used sick time is not being taken from previous total.
I'm trying to print federal tax forms from QB Online for the first time.On the "Payroll Tax Center" screen, I see the message "Reconcile tax history...You'll need to pay some taxes that were due before you started using QuickBooks Online Payroll".When I click the "Review" link provided, the page just refreshes without providing any new information. The other fields on the page ("Action Needed", "Coming Up", "Done") all say "All caught up" or equivalent. Advice on how to proceed?
I am trying to find information on E-Filing of W-2s. Can W-2s that are required to be E-filed be sent directly from my QuickBooks Accountant Desktop program to Social Security without using my BSO ID number with SSA? I am going to have a company with more than 10 W-2s and 1099s in total and must E-File both. I have not had anyone answer the question directly. It is confusing since it was changed for this filing season. I can certainly send them using the BSO but it is much easier if I c an just go directly from my QuickBooks account without the BSO.
I know this issue was reported several years and it appears that QBO still does not calculate 401k and IRA match on any tip income. My clients need to manually calculate the correct match amount each pay period and manually update it when running payroll. When is this issue going to be addressed and fixed? Thanks, Tracey
I have disabled Workforce on their old employee account in QBOP and removed the email address from that accounts profile. QB still seems to associate the email address with the old account and tells employee they need to "reach out to [employer] to regain access.".
