Hi,I have an employee that I set up in MA. I was told when I called MA that the tax rate was 1.45% which I paid in first quarter. I got a letter saying that there was a shortage and called to find out that the rate is 1.87%. I have paid April in 2nd quarter with the rate of 1.45%. I went to change the rate to 1.87% for all 4 quarters and got the message which I have attached. I am not able to attach the message I get if I leave the first quarter at 1.45% and try to change second quarter to the 1.87%. This is the message I get if I leave 1st qtr at 1.45% and change 2nd qtr to 1.87%, "You are changing the tax rate for the current quarter. If you have already paid employees this quarter, QB's will attempt to catch up when you create paychecks. Remember this tax is calculated by multiplying YTD taxable wages times the tax rate(s). Changing the rate after the quarter has started will not immediately impact the taxes for the current quarter. QB's will attempt to "catch up" using your n
looking at my P&L by class and some of the payroll taxes are not classified, when i click on them the memo says this is not legal pay??? anyone know why this would be?
I have an employee who received a short-term disability check from a third party the last week of December 2023. I was unaware that I was supposed to report the employer FICA & FUTA wages/taxes so they were not added to my employees payroll records. How do I make the adjustment to reflect her true wages paid in 2023 as well as reporting the correct employer taxes for her SS, Medicare & Unemployment? Will I be able to generate a corrected W-2/W-3 once I make the corrections within Quick Books for her accountant?
When I try to enter a direct deposit, I am having continuous problems. It either changes the amount, converting $3929.59 to $3.00 after tabbing through, or not allowing to select a payable account, but then showing an error when I manually type it in. I've logged out and back in over and over, and it still occurs. Eventually it seems to catch and I'm able to submit the payment, but this happens every single time and has for the last 3-4 months. Any fix available?
My employee has accepted the invite and has the app, but he gets this message: "Mobile time entry restricted. Contact your admin to change this setting or use our web experience." Then in big letters: Clocked out.I've checked the "permissions" settings, and the option for "mobile time entry" is checked, but it's in grey, and I can't change it even if I wanted to. (For comparison, the option to "View "Who's Working" for all team members" is a blue check, and I can change that if I want to...)Anybody have any ideas? Thank you!
The transfer from Desktop to QBO did not go well. Particularly setting up payroll. In updating payroll info for first quarter 2024, and April/May 2024 the program hangs up with a "something went wrong. Please try again in a few minutes." message. That was more than 12 hours ago with me unable to move forward. Ive been forced to go back to DT to do this weeks payroll. This is incredibly frustrating considering that both programs are Intuit products. I expected better! Suggestions for fixing this issue?
as a service company our people work different locations sometimes dailywe need to track and withhold tax for eachhow can we set this up?
I have a number of clients that use Quickbooks online for their General Ledger, but use an outside vendor for processing their payroll. They need a way to import the results of their payroll into quickbooks. I found a lot of articles oh how this is accomplished, but none that define the file specs for a .csv file. Does anyone have this information? I need to know what needs to be included. For example:What goes inColumn A: Account name/number?Columb B: Account description?Column C: Entry Date?Column 😧 Debits - Credits? Any help would be appreciated.MJA

What are the pros and cons of Workforce? I currently email all of the employees paystubs from Quickbooks. What would I be gaining if we switched to Workforce?
I want to eliminate having to manually input our payroll totals into the QB payroll each week.
Im trying to invoice and customer drop down menu does not work product drop down menus does not work.
After I processed payroll I was informed an employee should not have been subject to FICA. I updated his pay going forward and I noticed the system automatically removed his wages from being subject to FICA. My question is1. how do I refund him those taxes taken in error? Create a new deduction and enter a negative?2. Do I need to adjust my 941 or did that liability adjustment take care of the 941 for me?
