HiI need to be able to add a note to each invoice item on an invoice. Is this possible in Quickbooks like it is in Freshbooks? An example is that i do Property maintenance and want that as the main invoice title, however i want to add a note to that line entry and then put the property that i worked on for that invoice entry. I am experimenting with QuickBooks Self-Employed. There's lots about it that seems very useful but I can't seem to customise the invoices I send out to a satisfactory degree. Is there a way of importing my own preferred format? And my other question is in relation to automatic invoicing - I was hoping I would be able to set this up in connection with a calendar, to save time. Completing an invoice with the current software is almost as time consuming as doing it all by hand. Is there another type of QuickBooks software that does this automatically? I am self-employed, sole trader, don't have payroll or anything like that, so didn't need some of the more complex stuff. But invoicing is the real time drainer. Thanks, Community !
Hi all, am looking to start with QuickBooks and have registered for a demo account. Have downloaded the custom form templates and need to add the ability to discount individual line items and not simply the full estimate/invoice. Let's say I have 5 products in my estimate and I only want to discount product 1 by 20%, is there a way of adding a discount box in the estimate/invoice per line item?

Currently setup new domain Environment. I installed a Fortigate Firewall and windows 2016 Essentials server. Computers used to have QB2017 installed, but upgraded to QB 2020. Since the upgrade the computers have been unable to activate or communicate with the remote license server. When trying to sync license data, error message appears " There was a problem in synchronizing your QuickBooks license data with intuit." I spoken to QB support on the phone but cannot get a answer from them. I am very familiar with the usual processes and the necessary firewall settings are in place for windows. However, I believe this is all for internal communication. I would like to know what server address,port, or IP does QuickBooks need open or active to communicate out to their license server? As it seems as well that QuickBooks freezes and crashes if it doesn't connect to this server for sometime. My only workaround is to take each machine and connect it directly to the ISP mode

I need my QB Online Estimate template to show "Terms". i.e. Customer Payment Terms. This field is populated when creating a new customer, but I can't find a way to add this field to the template.
Hi, as we all know QB Desktop is coming to an end on the 31 Jan 23, I spoke to someone at QB yesterday who informed me that after 31 Jan 23 we will no longer be able to access our QB Desktop as they will withdraw the licence.I have a very big issue with this because our QB Desktop has all our history from the start of the company and I really don't want to lose it, also by Law we have to keep our Accounting records for a minimum of 6 years so how can QB justify their actions.I have tried the QB Online and uploaded all our information from Desktop to Online as a trial and quite frankly Desktop is far superior to Online, also all our clients that we have made inactive in Desktop were now all active in Online and I couldn't make them inactive.Does anyone know if there is any way that we can access Desktop after 31 Jan 23Kind regardsMario
I'm trying to convert 4 years of QB Desktop Pro 2016 to online. QB Support sends me to use Movemybooks, who will convert 2 years for free but are charging £75 + VAT for each extra year. Edit - I've just tried Movemybooks but it doesn't work because I'm using QBO Simple Start
When I try to send an email (estimate or invoice) from quickbooks to my registered email address it fails to deliver. The same thing happens from a friend's quickbooks account to my registered email. Email address is working fine otherwise, problem related to quickbooks.
I'm having trouble importing lists from QB 2014 to 2019 desktop. The customers and suppliers are fine but the chart of accounts has failures. When I select the 'review now' option I'm asked how I want to open the IIF file, the options are QuickBooks Launcher or search for another option in the app store. If I exit QB and click on the newly created IIF file I get a message about QB launcher. Can anyone please tell me how to find the correct way to review the failed items? Thanks
Hi All,This evening I have been trying to logon to Quickbooks for Self Employed but keep getting a 404 Bad Request message. I have tried two completely different internet connections and get the same result. Is there some kind of planned outage? How do you get in touch with Tech Support? Hi, I am sorry for the length of the following question but I don't know another way to detail it in a better way 🙂 We purchase a product [XYZ] from a supplier.When we receive [XYZ], we create a product [XYZ-a], the total quantity is received as stock (A), categorized 'A', and therefore, when it is sold, on the invoices assumes the name [A:XYZ-a] . We want to move some quantity of [XYZ-a] from Stock Asset (A) to a newly created Stock Asset (B), so that we can sell from either of the two Stock Assets.For this purpose we have created a new product called [XYZ-b] which is assigned category 'B'.The sales from Stock Asset (B) are displayed, in fact, as [B:XYZ-b]. Just to be clear, the physical product we purchase [XYZ] is the same, whether sold as [XYZ-a] or [XYZ-b]; the two products have the same initial purchase cost and the only differences between [XYZ-a] and [XYZ-b] may be 1) in the selling price, 2) the fact that [XYZ-b] is given in consignment to some Customers

I need to reconnect my Santander bank account to Quickbooks self-employed, but it isn't working. I go through the reconnection process, but when I click the login button nothing happens. Just to add... I inspected the web page and it shows a number of Javascript errors (see screenshot). I've tried in Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge, and also on my mobile using Chrome browser (I would have tried the android app - but the app doesn't even work - that's an entirely different story, that I don't have time to go into now). Just to clarify, this is the process I am going through: 1) On the Transactions screen I click 'Renew your connection'2) Then I click 'Reauthorise now'.3) Then I click 'Reconnect'4) On the next screen (entitled 'Consent to share your data') I click 'Agree'.5) Then on the next screen (entitled 'Sign into your bank') I click 'Sign in' and absolutely nothing happens. I have started to file my CIS returns using Quickbooks Online. When I log into the HMRC account, these returns do not show as being filed, which is because i filed through QB's I guess. However, if I need to amend a return, you have this facility on the HMRC portal but I can't see anything about this on QB's other than to unfile a return. Would I use this to amend a return?

HiIs there a German accountant who uses QuickBooks and can liaise with our UK office to produce statutory Accounts required in Germany?We currently use QB in the UK for our German office but this has to be re done in German format and our German accountant doesn't understand QB or speak English. Hi Our Company is registered as a CIS contractor and sub-contractor. Each month the CIS sub-contractor tax and PAYE is offset against the CIS contractor tax we have suffered. At the end of the year we claimed an overpayment of CIS tax suffered which has been paid direct to our bank account. How and where do I record this refund in QBO? Unsure which account I post it to? Ive just signed up to quick books self employed and have spent the afternoon going in circles trying to connect stripe to QB's. I see there are apps but why do I need to pay for additional apps when I'm already paying for a monthly subscription????? There were some limited use free apps available but none of the ones I tried would connect, or if they did connect they didnt work. I tried Greenback, which was horrifically complex so I gave up and Synder which was easy to connect and showed a connection in QB and Synder but no info was showing in y Dashboard. Its very frustrating. I treid to disconnect the connection between the two above metioned apps and my QB account but the disconnect buttons do not work!!! This is such shame as I now need to cancel my subscription as nearly half my sales go through Stripe and I will have to add them manually which is what I wanted to avoid. Hello,I have a serious problem with Quickbooks. I have contacted Quickbooks Support and they have been unable to help me.I use QuickbooksDesktop Pro 2019 updated. I cannot export reports to excel. All the fields are greyed out apart from Export to CSV.I have used this facility for some years now without error I upgraded to Quickbooks 2019 and installed the Updates and Export to Excel has always worked up until a few days agoI was told by support to uninstall Quickbooks and Office 365 which I have used for some time now. I have done this and reinstalled Office 365 first.This has not worked I believe their is a fault with quickbooks not syncing with excel but I cannot get this facility to work It is most annoying because all my reports have been exported to excel.Thank youCan anyone help please?Thank youWilliam Henry
Hi. I've had three webchats with three different Experts now, and my problem still isn't resolved.I use Chrome browser as recommended but have this problem in Edge and in Incognito. When I click on Edit a transaction, nothing happens. When I click on Account and Settings, nothing happens. I've cleared the history/cookies/cache/data several times. It will work once after that. I've allowed popups for QBO in Chrome settings.I've signed out and back in.I've turned my PC off and on again.I've updated my browser.I've tried it on my Chromebook - same result.I've tried it on my phone (android) and it does work, but that's no use. I'm tired of explaining it over and over to Experts - anybody got any ideas please? Thank you!
