Can you split a transaction to show both a purchase of an item and a return of another item in the same transaction? I originally purchased an item which we have already recorded in QBO, it was the wrong item so I returned it and purchased the correct item. The original item was more expensive than the correct item, so the transaction ended up being a partial refund on my credit card. How do I record this correctly?

My client reconciled about 2,000 bank transactions in the desktop version before converting to QBO. When I try to start a new bank reconciliation I am given a random starting balance and start date. Is there anyway to bulk edit the reconciliation status of those transactions or do I have to manually change each transaction?
Hi all, and Seasons Greatings. I am doing the bookkeeping for a non profit organization. We are non funded, no payroll, no tax, and is managed by volunteers. However, I did set up some accounts to show what we are paying our volunteers in regards to their bus fare, meals, etc. By the way, I am using QB Desktop, andwhat I want to do is this: ex: If Barb brings in a receipt for a total of $100.00 and I have to give her the money back, I want to keep track of where that money is going and into which account that I've created. So for example, Paid Barb $100.00 Acount #4000 is Meals &nb
I used the company cc for personal expences and then paid back the cc from a personal account. how do I record this so that i can reconcile correctly
Can I display a historical chart of a vendor balance? The chart would (obviously) go up when we make purchases and go down when we paid the vendor. I'd like to see the highs/lows/averages etc balance over time.
I downloaded credit card transactions for the entire year and imported them into QBO by way of a .csv file (for some strange reason, QBO would not accept a .qbo file). The transactions were in a single column; expenses as debits and payments as credits. However, after I imported the transactions I realized that they were flipped i.e. expenses were recorded as credits and payments as debits. Many of these transactions were categorized and posted directly to the general ledger using Rules. There are a few hundred pending transactions in the "For review" category. Is there a way to fix these two problems?
Hello,I am actually a Canadian version user, but for some reason the QB Community Canadian website will not allow me to post there. There is an update available for QB 2021 and I tell it to update, but nothing happens, no usual updating screens. When I try to start QB again, the same prompt comes up. Nothing else running, have restarted the computer several times, same issue. I can start QB by telling it not to update, but how do we gat it updated?

Hi, If a worker is supposed to accrue vacation pay at 4% of gross pay (corresponding to 2 weeks), and they later get a raise, then if you pay out at the higher wage then they will draw down the available vacation pay faster than 2 weeks. Does the worker still get 2 weeks time, but just doesn't get a full 2 week's pay if they haven't accrued enough vacation pay? Seems like workers would be annoyed by the prospect of taking vacation time without getting full pay at the current rate. Thanks.
