I have a client that transferred money from his personal account to his business account for 2 vehicle purchases. He purchased these in cash. One is used for work and personal, the other strictly work. He wants to separate his personal taxes from the business. How should we categorize these purchases? Would the company keep the depreciation schedule if he registered both trucks in his personal name? Or is it best to file together to connect the transactions?
I am trying to add a custom field (PO #) to my invoices. I watched the video help, but when I enter the custom field name, I get the error "Name should not exceed characters" . Seems like the error should state how many characters, but it doesn't. No matter how many characters I add, I get the error upon saving". I tried to find a customer support page where I can message Quickbooks Tech Support, but I keep getting linked back to the "Assistant".

I do not have the option of accessing QBO from a different [newer] computer. I also cannot spend hours in chat or on the phone being transferred among several reps, as happened the last time I did the "Contact Us" procedure.
Hello, does anyone know if there is a way to customize what the check will show when printed through quickbooks online? I do know quickbooks online has an option of to generate the check number you can check off when creating a check, however I also want that number that it generates to appear on the check itself.
I use the Customer Type field to group customer accounts that should have contracted pricing applied to invoices. It is much easier to manage this by simply adding a customer to the appropriate Customer Type as opposed to manually adding them to all appropriate price rules (which would be error prone and time consuming). When I setup a price rule, I specify in the Customer field at the top which customer type the price rule pertains to, and the customer list below automatically populates. Now, when I create an invoice for one of the listed customers, the unit price drop down will show the price rules that can be applied. This used to work, but not anymore. Even after re-creating the price rule, I do not see the price rule on the invoice screen when adjusting the unit price for an item. The reason for this post is because we have had this problem since 4 days ago and we cannot access customer transactions nor can we use the system normally. We have already followed the steps in the Intuit forums (clear cache, delete cookies, sign in a different browser or using a private tab ) that talk about this problem and there is no result. We are still experiencing this problem. When we try to enter the help section and get in touch, the channels appear as all closed (No availability). We need help ASAP.
Thanks: When I attempt to import missing data (1 JAN 2024 - 15 FEB 2024) from my initial Link Accounts transfer, many dates show a " ! " error after import. Error Message: "We can’t upload everything from your file. Some info may be missing from your file. Double-check that your file is complete and try uploading again." Remedial steps taken: - I have scrubbed/sanitized the data.- I'm importing about 35 records of dates, descriptions, and amounts from an Excel-generated CSV file - both attempted: 1) CSV UTF-8 (Comma delimited) (.csv) 2) Comma Separated values (.csv) Question:Can I amend an EXPORTED .csv file from QBO with the missing data and re-import an amended file back into QBO? If so, are there any known landmines for doing that?
Thanks. (See attached): I've concluded this issue may be on the bank's side during my initial "Link Accounts" transfer, and I'm looking to approach a viable workaround. I have CSV formatted data to cover the JAN- FEB 15 2024 gap, but when I attempt to import a chunk of transactions, I get the following: Error Message in Tools/Import process: "We can’t upload everything from your file. Some info may be missing from your file. Double-check that your file is complete and try uploading again." Remedial Steps Taken: (Note: I'm 23 years IT support with heavy data management) so I know the usual culprits with "dirty data" - (hidden spaces, corrupted fonts, date formats etc.) - suffice to say I've tried scrubbing/sanitizing the data. Date format I'm choosing is dd/mm/yyyy. I've also tried keying in a missing (JAN 1, 2024) transaction as a test manually via "New Transaction" and while it appears to work, the data doesn't appear in my transactions. 🤔
For the past week, I've been experiencing an issue with the iPhone app not updating QBO when entering a new expense and attaching a receipt. The app gets stuck in "saving..." mode, and when I check my account online, the transaction appears, but the receipt is not attached. I've already tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app, but that didn’t resolve the issue. Please advise.
Up until November 2024 I was able to send invoices from Quickbooks Desktop using my Yahoo business email/Turbify with no problem. I have used the 3rd party app password and it's been fine. Now, this is not working no matter what I try. I've turned off my virus software, opened QuickBooks as the administrator, deleted and added again the email, and have used various Yahoo email addresses I have access to. NOTHING WORKS. Over and over again I get the error that my username, password, or internet isn't working. HELP! I've been to every help article on QuickBooks with no luck. Did Yahoo/Turbify recently change something? Or has Quickbooks stopped working with Yahoo?
A new Donor Type was created during a recent Customer Import when the inputting staff member entered the donor type incorrectly. Is there a way to do one or any of the following?1) A bulk edit and change all of those imported donors to a new donor type? 2) Merge two donor types into one ie. We used to only have "Donor Individual" and "Donor Company" as our Donor Types. With the most recent import "Individual" and "Company" Donor types were inadvertently created. Now, we need to change all of the Donors marked as Donor Type "Individual" to "Donor Individual" and all of those marked as "Company" to "Donor Company" so that I can delete both of the newly formed donor types for "Individual" and "Company". What is the easiest and most efficient way to do this?

Since QuickBooks hasn't published this. Here is a complete mapping of QuickBooks Desktop Chart of Accounts types and their corresponding QuickBooks Online Account Types (with correct syntax) and their associated QuickBooks Online Detail Types. I was suprised not to be able to find this so I created it myself. It assists with being able to import a chart of accounts using the QuickBooks Online import tool if you're not uploading the entire desktop company file and only want to import a chart of accounts from QuickBooks Desktop. You'll be able to find the correct syntax for the account type and then a list of associated "detail types" that are required upon import but are not a feature of QuickBooks Desktop chart of accounts.
