New to QBO, I can't figure out how to purchase an inventory item from my vendor and how does QB know to increase that particular item in inventory? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
My client is asking me if he can enter a Bill (representing services he performed for the client) to get the expense into a Project, then Invoice the client for his these services. The Bill represents an amount for services he would normally pay another company to perform, but this time he did the work himself. So, the Bill represents an amount he would normally pay someone else (but didn't pay anybody). My client did that - entered a Bill into QBO, and it is in the project as an expense. But it is also in A/P as a liability, and needs to be paid. But he is not going to pay himself to relieve the bill. Is there a way to do this in QBO? add a bill to a project but not really ever pay the bill or should he just add a line item to an invoice and not record an expense to the Project?because QB can't handle that transactionHas anybody ever tried to do this before?thanksDon
Information for contractors does not permit space for Canadian province or Country. Contractor has a dual citizenship and lives in Canada.
I need to enter historical information from prior year to QBO (moving from a different platform/Aplos). The purpose is to be able to run comparison reports with the current QBO data.I have monthly P&L and BL excel reports for the prior year, no bank statements.Any way to enter totals by month without entering all invoices, bills, payments, etc.?

How to bill credit card fees
I added two other accounts to my QBO profile. The new accounts do NOT have the "Get Things Done" tab. The flowchart is missing and it makes it more difficult to get items completed. How do I add this to the Dashboard?
Does anyone know why QBO ignores the default expense account I set up in the Vendor info, and seemingly picks a random account to post a bill to? See attached screenshot with the default account and the one the system selected for a new bill.
Right now when I pull the average days to pay report it shows me everything. Assuming that because their is a 'paid date' column I figured I would be able to filter that to a specific month - however every attempt at that does not produce the right information. Any ideas how to achieve this?
I have a $5,000 invoice that my company is paying $1,000 per month on behalf of another, seperate company that will owe us the $5,000 in the future. Can someone offer help as to how to book this? My goal is to try and make this appear equally on the P&L so the $1,000 we're paying each month doesn't make our P&L look "worse'. So I guess my question: is there a way to have the $1,000 expense on the P&L offset by something else? Thanks!
Not really sure which category this falls under. Total noob here with QB online. Trying to file my taxes and I notice under my P&L report that some of my income transactions are categorized under "Uncategorized Income" instead of the "Service/Fee" category like the rest. I never really used invoices previously but started encountering this problem once I started using them and I can't figure out how to change them over. Usually I can just find it in my banking and undo it to put in the right category but I guess because these are invoices I matched, the transactions aren't showing up in my banking under Categorized. How do I get these categorized correctly under "Service/Fee"?
