Is it possible to set up a recurring custom report period in QuickBooks? For example, I'd like the report to automatically update to show data for the last 14 days, or a specific recurring time frame not in the defaults without having to manually adjust the date range each time. My use case here is that we run payroll every two weeks. I'd like to generate a report that is automatically sent to management that has the sales, payroll by class, and payroll's percentage of revenue for the payroll period. I'd also like to set up an annual report that shows in separate columns what the payroll percentage was for each period.
I am unable to email or save pdf files from QB. I receive the above notice and a statement: "Review instructions for downloading and installing the required component. I'm not sure how to correct this. can someone please help me?
Hello - Any recommendations for carrying over an ending balance for classes into the subsequent fiscal year as starting cash? We run simple P&L reports for users to see where they are during the fiscal year - if we do not include their carry over these will show negative balances (they are not numbers people) but I also do not want this to show as income for the year, because it is not. Some may even have negative balances caried over, which we would also want to show. Any suggestions??
So basically I have a shipstation expense already imported with webgility. How do i match up expense with fedex? Fedex bill is a bit more. Do I enter the fedex bill or manually change the amount? I also have some outside business charges that's included with fedex. How can I expense those? Also I have a customer who I make labels for because my rates are low. But the company is also originally the investor. How can I not income and expense and take out it out of the equity balance?
Hi,When I open Reports > Profit and Loss Detail < it opens and on the bottom right is a list of options of what to view. The list includes: Type, Date, Name, Clear, Split, Debit, Balance, etc.How do I permanently change this list? This list that automatically opens does not show "Amount". It as categories thatI don't need or want to view. Each time I open it I have to customize the list and get rid of most of what is there and add what I need.Is there a way to customize this list so that I don't need to mess with this every time I open it? This list changed after I renewed my Mac Desktop subscription. Thanks for your help!
How to customize a customer statement?
I have connected Square to QBO and all my transactions are being imported into QBO as Undeposited Funds. When I check the COA and run a report for these Undeposited Funds, it brings up the following Transaction Types: Sales Receipts, Deposits and Refunds. If I click a specific Deposit, it shows the Payments that are associated with the Deposit. Is there a reason why this Deposit is still showing as an Undeposited Fund and also why it is showing as Uncleared?
Hey there, I have been trying to learn how to handle end-of-year closing. For context, my QB account settings have the following settings: first month of year: Jan first month of income tax year: Same as fiscal year Accounting method: cash Close the books: 12/31/2024 I also fully reconciled my accounts through Dec 31, 2024. According to this page, QB will automatically add adjusting entries for Retained Earnings at the beginning of the new fiscal year. When I look at the balance sheet reports, my Dec 31, 2024, report has the same number for net income that my Jan 1, 2025 report has for retained earnings. However, I see no adjusting entries for retained earnings anywhere. I looked in the quick report for retained earnings account as per the procedure in the previously linked page. I don't see anything on that report. Where do these supposed automatic entries get entered? Where should I see them?
Hello,I have recently purchased a business that has been using QBDesktop for several years. I am trying to compile a report that shows the dollar amount of open sales orders on any given day.Daily, I use the Open Sales Order report to see how many $ of sales are currently in the queue. I would like to be able to compare this number to the same time period in the past. For example, using the Open Sales Order report, I can see that I have $90K in open sales as of 01/01/2023. How would I find what the dollar amount of my open sales were for the same day in 2022? Or, what were my total Open Sales Orders as of 01/01/2022? Is there a way to generate this information? It would most certainly be helpful in establishing trends and forecasting cash flow etc.

How can I easily see a report that adds up all of the credit charges from each card in a particular year? I'm guessing this should be simply but so far - I can't figure out how to do it!
How do I get a 1099 report that includes company name and vendor name (full name) with SSN or EIN included? I have tried to build a custom report but the SSN/EIN is not valid.
Recently the date field disappeared on my invoice line items regardless of the template used, even the default. Tried a bunch of things, still missing. Help!
The old invoice layout did not show the Products and Services column. In our settings, the Show Products and Services default is turned off but it still shows on invoices for customers to see. We want this column to be hidden on the customer view.
When a deposit has multiple line items, the donor or vendor name does not display in the "Name" column on the Statement of Activity report. I have confirmed that the "Received From" field is filled for every row on the Deposit screen. However, if a deposit only has one line item, then the name successfully displays on the report. I've seen posts with similar issues on other reports. Is this a known bug?
Bill Entry pages, journals, registers - just about everything I open in QB online shows the full parent and child account name displayed. It gets so long, I have to constantly choose "edit" just to see the final child account name. I know in desktop I can go to preferences and "turn this off", but I can't figure out how to do it for the online version. Thanks.
I made several journal entries booking HELOC interest expenses and I gave them names of the vendors or payees (banks). I can't search them. I can't find them. i can't filter for them. They're still there but they are unobservable. Observability is not great in this system.
Ever since QB "upgraded" their invoice system, invoices no longer show employee names associated with time charges -- just commas where the names should be. Clearly, a bug -- anyone know how to fix?
My Bank/CC reconciliation reports have suddenly truncated the detail column as you can see in the example below. The same thing occurred in the detail report but it that case I elected options which showed all the possible headings and selecting source name returned the correct result.
In November, my client migrated from Quickbooks Desktop to Quickbooks Online. I also started with him in November and did some major work in the checking account, reclassifying hundreds of expense transactions to new expense accounts. But when I attempted to reconcile the checking account for the month of December, I got a major shock: a 51 page Reconciliation Discrepancy Report. For some reason, the transactions that I reclassified the expense account are showing as “reconciled in register.” This makes no sense because the transactions were already reconciled before I edited them. I did not reconcile them in the register and I haven’t changed the amount or the bank account, only the expense account. I don’t know why these types of transactions are in the Reconciliation Discrepancy Report at all. Let me attach the audit log of one the transactions on the Reconciliation Discrepancy Report to show the changes I made: I’m wondering if the problem is arising from editing re
