We need to apply monthly statement finance charges to our Online data! Where can we do this in mass to all statements like the desktop versions?
The newest version of Invoicing does not all an existing invoice to be edited and add expenses. I have reviewed the previous troubleshooting items including clearing caches, running QBOnline in a private browser and attempting the changes on multiple computers. I used to be able to create an invoice at the start of the project. Gradually collect the expenses and add them progressively.The only solution I can find is to delete the invoice, then create a new invoice. With a larger project this is a huge undertaking. From a new invoice I can pick the expenses and add them with no issues. Then, when I save the invoice and the option to add expenses disappears I am unable to link additional expenses.THIS IS SO FRUSTRATING AND SUCH A WASTE OF TIME. THIS WORKED LAST MONTH AND NOW WILL NOT WORK!
Somewhere I thought I read that the GL # field was 20 characters, but when I tried to enter 10010.01 I was only able to enter 10010.0!!! So I entered 1001001 (without the period) and I was able to enter it, but the system only displayed "10010 Name of the account" ... no reference to the trailing two digits. What gives here? What I was trying to do was to create a sub-account under 10010 so that I would have 10010.01, 10010.02, etc. I am restructuring the COA to reorganize things and implement classes to simplify the size of the COA. The former COA used 4 digits, so one solution is NOT to change my base account to 4 digits instead of 5. I have a document "Character limitations for fields in QuickBooks" and it says Account Numbers is maximum 20 characters. Why was I stopped at 7 characters? And why do only 5 of them display in the "Account" field (Supposedly account Number + Name)? Is it limited because of some obscure choice made somewhere in Preferences? HE
Is there a way to customize the "profit and loss by class report" so that the classes are listed vertically down the first column instead of each class being a different column across the top? I see that some reports have a pivot option, but this report doesn't. If not, can a custom report be created that achieves the same end?
Since being moved to the new invoice template Iam encountering a couple of significant issues that are affecting my workflow. I'm hoping someone here might have a solution or could share if they're experiencing the same problems. Bundling Problems: In the new version, I am unable to drag items into a bundle, nor can I remove items from a bundle once they're added. This limitation is particularly problematic when trying to organize billable transactions into specific invoices. Previously there had been the six dots on each line within a bundle, now those are gone and to remove something from a bundle it has to be deleted, but there is no way to move it back in. Viewing Transaction Details: Previously, when adding transactions to an invoice, I could see suggested transactions with detailed descriptions. Now, it only shows "billable expense" and the amount, without any description. This makes it impossible to know if the expense is relevant to the invoice without first adding it
Quickbooks will not use my default invoice format
Hello, lets assume that customer pays 100 USD that covers open balances of several outstanding invoices. Which report can show how this amount of 100 USD was spread between invoices. Invoices and Received Payments report shows payment and original invoice amount not the settlement amount. Thank you.

I have my employees enter time through QBO where they provide a date of service, start time, end time, and client. When I go to generate the "Time Activities by Client Detail" report in QBO Plus and customize the columns to show "Start Time" and "End Time" they both show up as blank. When I click on one of the rows for each time entry, I see the start/end time in there. Why is QBO not correctly pulling the data from the time entries?
I have a one member S corp. My payroll provider is Gusto - they don't link directly to my 401k so what I had them do is defer my solo 401k contribution account from my paycheck. Then I make an employee contribution directly from my bank to my 401k. How do I properly categorize the bank to 401k transaction in quickbooks online? Keep in mind Gusto will handle reporting the deferment on the paycheck.
I am wondering if it is addressing the $500 prepayment made by the client.
My company chart of accounts is 8 digits in total. However, QBO has stricted it to 7 digits. As a result, I am unable to input my chart of accounts numbers. Please help.

Hi everyone, I am trying to transfer a credit issued to one customer to another customer's outstanding balance. I found a really clear explanation of how to do this on QB as per the below link. My issue is it is not working for me. https://quickbooks.intuit.com/learn-support/en-us/help-article/manage-customers/transfer-credit-one-customer-another/L4vT5bz8K_US_en_US When I set up the 2nd line in the journal entry, I follow the instruction to "On the second line item, select Accounts Receivable" However when I do that & set up the 2nd part of the journal entry I get an error message saying I cannot use AR twice on the journal entry. That is exactly what the QB explanation says to do. What am I doing wrong? How do I fix this? I need to move the credit from one customer to pay another customer's outstanding invoice. Thank you for any help anyone can offer in advance!

Hi,My client is operating restaurant and the company has just started its operation in 2024. The company has $43,000.00 net profit in 2024. Besides its fixed asset value is $37,000.00 like oven, fridge, machinery etc.Can we deduct all of this fixed asset value from the net profit?
When entering a new bill in Quickbooks desktop, if the price was different than the last time it was ordered Quickbooks would automatically ask if you wanted to update the cost and the sale price. QBO doesn't do that, and so each time a price changes (which is obviously happening more and more often, I have to go into products and services and manually change it outside of the bill. This is frustrating and time consuming. Why is QBO missing so many of Desktop's best features?The search feature in Desktop was so much better, too. It was easy to find the last time you sold an item and how much you sold it for. Why does the search feature in QBO only work for certain things?Also, since switching to QBO I can no longer access my desktop file because I no longer have that subscription, so I can no longer see my own information and history from my company. We are entering bills in QB desktop enterprise 22. There are related purchase orders to match with the bills, but the matching purchase order is NOT on the list when we click Select Related Transactions. We have run verify and rebuild with no errors. Why are the open purchase orders not appearing on the Select Related Transactions list?
When customers are paying their bill, they are entering a smaller amount. I'd like it if they don't have this option, and when they are ready to pay, they can only pay in full.
All of our customers are assigned a class and a location. However, some customers will only appear on reports when I customize and choose 'Location → Not Specified'. I've confirmed that there is in fact a class and a location assigned to the invoice. Then when I dig deeper and open the 'Bank Deposit' information and click on the drop-down 'Show payments for this location', I choose 'Unspecified Locations' and customer A, B or C are on there even though again, it has been confirmed there is a class and a location assigned to the invoice that was paid. Please help in providing information on how to resolve this issue or where it's stemming from so that I can better understand the who, what, where, whens and hows.
