I've seen and followed the Record a retainer or deposit article. Each month a customer pays a retainer $1500. If they only use $1000 in services of the retainer amount in the month, they lose the remaining $500 credit. After all the invoices and payments are completed, this $500 remains in the liability account. It is no longer a liability but should be income. How is this $500 liability removed from the liability account?
Just started using quick books last evening and not computer savvy , using a 2 week old chrome box computer , that could be the problem.
I am a QB registrant in Canada in the service industry. We received a call from a QB rep suggesting we are not allowed to charge our clients a service fee or surcharge fee for visa/mastercard transactions, is this true?. We are confused with this as we know other vendors that do and with our larger projects the fee's would be far to expensive to carry so it should be an option for client should they be looking to acquire points. Freshbooks for example offers a service fee auto adjustment to the balance should the client pay visa/mastercard this is very attractive. Why is this feature not available in QB?, we may change providers strictly based on this convenient feature. Thank you
I was wondering if there is any way to turn off automatic invoice numbering? Thanks.
I already have a different program for invoicing and collecting on invoices. QuickBooks is for record keeping only.
We are setting credit limits for some customers so that employees in the back don't allow charging. Can the message that pops up on sales orders and invoices be changed?
